Medea turned to Avery. "We should probably get to Astronomy," she said reluctantly. It was so odd that the teachers were still carrying on as normal, after the Dark Mark incident. She walked to the Astronomy tower, slightly amazed at how high they were.

Lauren stepped into the classroom and sat down at an empty seat while she waited for the others.

Estella - Professor Kitkun right now - watched the first years slowly funnel in. She glanced at her little packet of lesson plans and then set it down. She stood and moved to the front, waiting quietly for everyone to settle.

Estella cleared her throat and gazed around the room, meeting eyes with each student. "Welcome to Astronomy," she began. "I'd give you a syllabus of what you will learn, but since students usually don't read those, I won't bother." She smiled gently. "I'm Professor Kitkun. Today will just be an introduction. If you have any questions about me or the class, you may ask now while I take role."

Anni gave the girl smiling at her a smile after a fleeting, confused look. These people were definitely... interesting.

Professor Kitkun set down her list of names sharply. "Lyra Lupin?" she called. "Akrisios Nyx? Are you here?" She sighed. So students were skipping already...but maybe they had a good excuse. "Well," she said, businesslike, as she picked up a glass model of suspended stars. "We'll just be looking at common constellations today, so I can see how much you already know." She pointed at Orion. "Anybody know this one?"

Medea looked up, staring at the fake stars. She loved mythology and would have guessed, but today she was more...subdued.

Anni sighed. Stars were never a big thing for her, they were just shinies in the sky. Sean would know... wherever he was... Glancing around the class, it took her a few minutes to find him... sitting by the Hufflepuff.

"Yes, you are correct. Five points to Hufflepuff, Miss Freeland." Estella liked to be generous with points. "Now let's talk a little about Orion. In Greek mythology, he was a hunter. Do you see these three diagonal stars? Those are his belt..." She briefly described some more facts, then added, "I will go into more detail about the mythology second semester. This semester is focused on learning the basic constellations." She flicked her wand, and a worksheet appeared in front of each student. "Please use your book to fill out this starchart of Orion and surrounding stars."

Medea sighed to herself. She was an expert in mythology for her age, but didn't know quite as much about the locations of the constellations themselves. She was irritated with herself when she finally had to refer to the book.

Estella sat at her desk, flipping through some papers. "When you're done, set them here in front of me. Feel free to whisper as you work, but be aware that you must be done in half an hour, at which point we will learn how to use the telescopes."
