((He certainly has a prideful, stubborn streak that he doesn't see in himself. But I love him for it.))
"I bore you?" Kynton said, his temper rising. "Well, feel free to go find other friends, mate." He hesitated - did he really want Tristin to leave? It was almost nice having him around. But just because I don't have to be alone with Iris! he insisted. "Or you can just keep relaxing here by yourself. Whatever suits you."

((Well, I certainly don't see his faults. Yes indeed, I love your Tristin. ^^ ))
Kynton frowned, struggling with a response. "I thought you said we were friends... mate. But I can either follow through on my threats or agree on friendship - whichever you prefer." He snorted, trying to communicate his disdain for friendship and the like.

Iris stood there and bit her lip, running her knuckles over the table over and over again. This was like her parents. Except they were two boys her age, seemingly a hundred times calmer than her parents would ever be and less fight-y. Also except for the fact that her parents didn't fight anymore. They just didn't speak to each other at all. But the girl held her tongue because it wasn't exactly her place to intrude. She would just paste on a smile and sweep up the aftermath.

((I'm being serious. At least, I admit that he has faults like everyone else, but I choose to ignore them. Because Tristin is awesome. LITTLEDOLPHIN!!!! AUTUMN!!!!))
Kynton bit his lip. "Sorry, I didn't mean to make fun of you - this time. It doesn't really bother me, I was just pointing it out." His face went hot with embarrassment - what was wrong with the world that he was apologizing?

((Agh, I'm sorry... My comment never posted. >> But I'm here again! Sort of bummed, 'cause I didn't get into musical, but that's okay. I'm still alive! AUTUMN! LITTLEDOLPHIN! ALYSSA! Yes, Drizzle should come!))
Caleb smiled, probably the biggest one he'd worn in a while, definitely since before Christmas. "Thanks. I'm glad you're doing well, and... everything." Wow, you're a great conversationalist. "Uh. How's Akrisios? He seemed sort of... off, when I last saw him." Maybe that wasn't the best question to ask, or the best way to ask it, but he was curious, and genuinely concerned. Just because he was occasionally a little jealous of the older boy, didn't mean that he had to dislike him. And it seemed like Akrisios's like wasn't all sunshine either.

((Hurrah for Drizzle! And hurrah for AUTUMN!!! LITTLEDOLPHIN!!! JESSICA!!! ))
Kynton nodded stiffly, looking away. He wasn't quite sure what to say now, and he couldn't help but feel embarrassed. I can't believe I just apologized. What's with me?

Caleb nodded slowly, a small smile that was slightly strained flitting across his face. He may've been naive, yes, very naive, and he knew he wasn't the brightest light around, but he could tell when he wasn't being told the entire truth. And of course, it was because of Akrisios. He couldn't help but feel jealous of the older boy, even though it was obvious that he had his own troubles to face. No matter what Caleb did, it always seemed that Lyra and Akrisios were closer. Lyra was one of the few remaining people he really felt close to these days--along with his dad, Medea, Iris, and a couple of his cousins--and even she was drifting away from him. He didn't know if he could deal with losing her so soon after losing his mom. Suddenly, Caleb realized how long he'd been silent for and coughed. "Oh. Uh, right, that's good. And sure, we should catch up."
((ALYSSA!! AUTUMN!! LITTLEDOLPHIN!! And Drizzle! yayness. :) Aw, I feel so bad for Caleb. Is it bad for me to pity my own characters? Poor kid. He's trying so hard to be happy and seem okay but he really isn't.))

((Aw, I sure feel sorry for Caleb. I know I'm a loyal Avery fan, but I just want to give Caleb a big hug.))
((ALYSSA!!! Haha, Avery appreciates your fan-ness. He needs to find Medea sometime soon.
Caleb needs it. *huggles him*))

((Awww. Lyra's the best.))
Caleb inhaled sharply as Lyra wrapped her arms around him again. His eyes stung and he shut them, squeezing her quickly and feeling some of his swirling emotions melt away. She was warm and soft and comforting, and it was just what he'd needed. "Thank you," he said quietly, his forehead resting on her shoulder. "You're a good friend."

Caleb smiled slowly and nodded. "Sure. I'm sure they'll be excited to meet you... Mostly. They seem a little bit wary I guess, just keep that in mind."

(( Haha! That's awesome. Mathy Friday parody. I love it. I'm good. :) Just finishing up homework so I can exersise, eat ice cream, and watch Glee.))

Iris saw a boy about her year wander into the library, lost written across his face in capital letters. She smiled, slightly amused, at his innocent appearance and waved softly when she saw his gaze following someone in their general vicinity.
Drizzle waved slightly at the girl with the purple eyes, wondering who she was. She appeared to be Kynton’s friend, but she was rather friendlier than him.

((AUTUMN!!! LITTLEDOLPHIN!!!))
"No, that sentence didn't really make sense, sorry." Caleb laughed softly. "Yeah, I didn't know them until today, really. They're nice. They just act aloof. Tristin is the one in the chair, he's a bit cold, but he seems pretty nice. And Kynton's the one next to Iris. He acts really grouchy but I think he just needs some good friends."

((LITTLEDOLPHIN AGAIN!!! HELLO!! *huggles*))
Caleb set a hand on her shoulder gently. "They really are, don't worry," he said. "I think... I think they're a bit like Akrisios is. He seems to be unkind, but he isn't." He gave a small smile. "And if they're not nice to you, we can go on our merry way."

((Jessica's good. :) Stressed out, but good. How's LittleDolphin?))
Caleb gave her a puzzled look. "Of course I'd come with you," he said. "I understand what you mean about more Akriosioses, though. He's sort of a singular person."

((JESSICA!!!! Why are you stressed out? LITTLEDOLPHIN!!!! Aw, poor Lyra.))
Kynton crossed his arms, irritated now with the silence. Were his self-dubbed "friends" too good to talk to him? Probably. Iris was looking at the dumb Hufflepuff - Leak? Raindrop? Drip? Kynton smirked. Right, Drizzle. But maybe Drip is more accurate. He ignored the uneasy prickle that poked him at that thought and instead allowed his face to appear cross. But he still felt a trace of guilt glaring at Drizzle, so he shifted his eyes to Tristin. He pictured himself kicking the legs out from Tristin's chair and enjoyed the image thoroughly.

((ALYSSA!!!! Ah, you're here! *hugs* I missed you so much!
Ah, just life I guess. 'specially school. So little to do and so much time in which to do it! Wait, strike that, reverse it. Hahah... couldn't resist the reference. But yeah, I just need to get finals over with. How are you, mon ami?))

The girl with the green hair, Brenda DiCorvino walked in elegantly with her hair rippling back as if there was a wind.
((I am going to spam, because I have no idea what's going on, and Anni is wandering around in a dark corridor somewhere in the back of my mind. I have been gone for so long, it seems. How are you all doing?))

((KENZIE!!!! You're here! And LITTLEDOLPHIN!!!! I'm doing pretty well, thanks, JESSICA!!!! I have finals next week. Ugh. Oh, and welcome Houdini! :) ))
Kynton was distracted by a different girl his age walking past. He stared. She had green hair. Why does everyone have weird-colored stuff here? he thought in annoyance. That girl and Iris look like half a rainbow. Then he registered Tristin's question and realized that he was, in fact, staring again. Kynton's face instantly caved in to a glare. "I've told you not to call me Lorcan, mate," he snapped. "And I sure wouldn't stare at you - you're not much to look at." He balled up a fist, then dropped it to his side. He settled for kicking, hard, at the legs of Tristin's chair.

Iris gasped, jumping slightly without realizing she was doing so. "Kynton!" she exclaimed at the boy, not quite chastising, but in no way approving either. "Are you alright?" Iris turned to Tristin and offered a hand to his figure on the floor. Her eyes were wide with concern, the violet slightly darker than before as a result. Boys, she thought, the voice in the back of her mind shaking its head.

Iris smiled and dropped her hand to her side indifferently. Of course Tristin was upset, 'twas only to be expected. But what was not to be expected was color change in the boy's hair. She inhaled another sharp breath, but this one was quiet and nearly imperceptible. As Tristin cringed, she blinked rapidly before he could open his eyes again. Her gaze darted once again to the roots of his hair, but they had returned to their previous shade of blonde, not the silvery near white. She told herself that she'd imagined the entire incident, not so much as forcing herself to take to the idea, but truly convinced she'd fabricated the entire experience. Her brother was always going on about her poor eyesight.
"Good," Iris commented quietly as Tristin rose, not smiling. Another expectation occurred to her--things were about to get rough.
((Ah, Tristin's secret is safe for now.))
Finishing another spellbook, Anni flipped it on top of the rest of her stack of books, staring at the pile. It was by far time for another library run. She'd made a lot of progress, certainly, but yet she still had this nagging feeling that she was behind.
"Oh hi!" Anni smiled at the girl. Did she know her? Maybe. Probably. She hardly knew anyone, it seemed. She should get out of her books more often... She set her stack of books down in the returned books section, watching as were picked up and put in place by some automatic spell.

Anni slowly shook the girl's hand. She didn't know people did that anymore. "Nice to meet you too! I'm Anni."

"I'm afraid I don't him," Anni wistfully responded. They'd never... They'd never had money to go to the movies, her and- and her brother.

Kynton stared at Tristin even more obviously than before. Had he just seen what he thought he had? Maybe it was just the light. Then he registered Iris' disapproval and his scowl returned. It irked him that his actions had resulted in Iris turning on him in Tristin's defense. And he also felt a tad embarrassed. "Er... Didn't mean to kick it that hard. Sorry, Tristin. But you asked for it," he added hastily.
Kynton didn't know what to say to that. "Well... good for you." He suddenly found it was easier to look at Tristin, sprawled in a chair, than at Iris with her nicer-than-normal demeanor. "Are we boring you, Tristin?"
