((I have to go, so I'll just post this now...))
Medea entered the Potions classroom in the dungeons, glad she had found it. She looked around hesitantly, but then her removed reserve came back and she sat down in an empty desk, with the desks all around her also empty. She pulled out her Potions stuff, slightly nervous despite her cool demeanor.

((the hpl isn't always correct.))
((Yep, it's Potions. But we can't really do start the class without Pudding, so I guess we'll wait. Anyway I'm going. Bye!))
((*dies painfully* ACH! WHY??? *sigh* Well, Oh well... If I'm not here tomorrow when it's time for potions I am going to be an unhappy, slightly demented camper. *shakes head* Other than COMC, did I miss anything?))
Caleb handed in his drawing of the fire crab at the end of class, not impressed with his artistic abilities. He saw Avery ignoring him out of the corner of his eyes and mentally sighed. Why was the house thing coming between them so much? I'll deal with that later. He wished he'd been able to guess what had been in the box. So far Charms and Care of Magical Creatures have been simply amazing... Maybe Potions will be better. He walked into the potions classroom after checking to make sure he h ad the correct supplies. He looked around, unsure of who to sit by. He settled on a seat near no one in particular and pulled out his potions book, setting it on the desk in front of himself and thinking.
Avery finished sketching at the very end of class. He actually did like drawing. He walked up and handed it to the teacher, ignoring Caleb as he did so. Does he think that it's no big deal, being sorted into the house that was the enemy of our mother? He collected his things and went into the Potions. He noticed Caleb sitting alone without remorse, and then his eyes settled on Medea. He walked over. "Hey. Can I sit here?"

Ivi took out her potions things and placed them on her desk. She glanced around to see who was here.
Medea looked up as Avery approached and gave a contained smile. "Yes, of course you may sit here." She shifted her things over more slightly to make room. "What did you think of Care of Magical Creatures? It seems like a promising class."
Akrisios looked over the other students, scanning the oncoming crowd for Anni or Lyra. He didn't want to get a bad partner. He glanced in the dimly lit subterranean classroom and bit his lip. He liked potions, they made use of Herbology, but there was also a lot of trial-and-error involved.
Aurelian nodded absently, reading off the list of First-years on her list. Her lips drew up into a smile, casting light wrinkles under her eyes. She liked First-years, she'd be sure to give them an impression they wouldn't soon forget. She reached for a piece of chalk in her desk drawer before standing.

(((it's easier to get into college if you take math all four years))
Aurelian stepped up to one of the chalk boards in front of which were lined numerous cauldrons and colorful liquids. She plastered a smile on her face that didn't quite reach her eyes, still facing the board. With deliberate, fast strokes, she managed to write the word: Felix Felicis. She set the chalk on the ledge and turned, brushing her robes behind her, she watched the students silently, regarding them as though they were beyond her notice.

Akrisios glanced at the board and sat at the table behind Lyra, placing his supplies on the surface. He leaned forward."Lyra? Do you know Latin?"
Akrisios nodded and leaned back."I think it's a higher level potion, I know it's one of the selected poitons that you must make perfectly to pass your N.E.W.T.s...I'm not entirely sure of its use."
Aurelian rolled her eyes and cast an impatient glance at her watch, hurrying back to her desk. She scrawled quickly on a piece of paper and shoved it into her desk. She dug for a minute in a different drawer, pulling out an envelope and handing it to her owl who was perched on a stand.

Akrisios shrugged. "Maybe she's got her classes wrong, she may think she has a different year this period. It's a bit strange if you ask me."
Akrisios shrugged."It doesn' bother me that much, what other people think.Only certain people matter, the rest...Well, I could care less."
((i want more people to get on...grrrr))

Ava walked in, after checking her bag and double-checked she had everything. Luckily she had a crowd to follow and wouldn't get lost. She looked up, seeing the stone ceiling and squeezed her eyes and then walked in, finding her seat.

ya realy?! normally by the time I get on there are 50...))
Ivi looked toward the front of the class. She looked to where Ava is standing.
((i know, nobody's on...ugh))
Aurelian nodded to herself, gliding to the board again." Good afternoon, class. Obviously, I am your potions master. If you are lost or have any snide comments to make, I assure you, urge you to make them at this time. If you so much as whisper out of turn I want you out of this class and in the headmaster's office. That aside, I am Professor Aurelian Prince, I attended Gryffindor. All other information is not warranted. I could give you a huge speech about class rules and such but I assume you've heard enough for today." She tapped her wand against the board, directly under the writing. "Can anyone tell me what this is?"

((the words felix felicis))
Akrisios waved his hand forward and leaned back in his chair, resting his head on his arms. He yawned.

Aurelian feigned scanning the assortment of students. She cast a glance at Iviana's crest."Okay, you, Hufflepuff, Ms. Hedna, what is it?"
Medea gazed at the words on the board, then at the students who had raised their hands. She noted with distaste that the Slytherin boy, Akrisios, was one, and there was Ivi. She sighed slightly. She didn't feel like raising her hand, though she thought she might know what it was. She smiled at Avery, raising her eyebrows in amusement of the other students.
Aurelian rolled her eyes and shook her head."I'd hope you could read. Yes, Liquid Luck, which you'll need an exceedingly large amount of to pass this class. If you cheat in this class, or use any other means than your own minds to do your work, you will serve so many detentions you'll go stir crazy."

Ivi stared. That was a little harsh. she thought.
Medea hid a smile. Poor Ivi, but still, it was funny... She tried to frown at Professor Prince, though. She hated when teachers made students feel bad. From watching her friends especially - at her old school - she knew that kids their age had enough problems with self-esteem without being called stupid by the people meant to help them learn.
((lol,sorry))
"Alright, now that we've had a chance to settle down, we'll begin. I'd like each of you to take a fresh sheet of paper and copy down every potion you can think of with a brief description of ingredients and its purpose. You've just been given one, so you should at least have this potion on your list. I'm curios as too what our next generation knows."
Akrisios grumbled under his breath and opened his notebook, wetting his quill he began to write.

Anni watched the teacher quietly, trying to figure what she thought of her. She was very strict, or so it seemed, but still she seemed also rather forward and direct.

Staring at her nearly-blank paper, Anni gnawed on her lip. Only briefly knowing the one written on the board before her.
