Dhestiny and Suzanne, I read Victoria Alexander's The Perfect Wife and if memory serves I liked it. I ended up buying almost all of her books off of ebay because my library didn't have all of them. If you look at my book thread I believe I wrote comments on the book. One of these days I'll have to read the rest. I just can't seem to stop myself from putting books on hold at the library. I keep trying to read everything before it's due at the library and don't get to the ones I own.

Mrshj, I am having the same problem as you with Balogh books. Some of her books are really good, while others just make me wonder if someone else used her name. I think An Ideal Wife is one I did NOT like and the third book of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse series, Irresistable, was one I loved (couldn't get my hands on the first two). I also liked most of the Huxtable series.

Dhestiny, It's number 54 on my list. Just looked. I remembered reading it because I read both Lynsay Sands book and Alexander's fairly close together and then Balogh's The Ideal Wife and started getting confused about all the books with the same or similar names. I can see you creating a new challenge in the future where you read as many books by different author's with the same title. LOL Makes me wonder what the most popular title for a book is and how many times it's been used?

Ironically I picked up the sister book to that one at the bookshop recently to round out numbers and was surprised by how good it was. Neither of the main characters particularly appealed to me and the story line was slow paced but I really enjoyed it because it was so well put together. It's called "A precious Jewel" and was about Gerald Stapleton & Prissy- it runs parallel to the other story.

I tried one of Gaelen Foley's books- The Pirate Prince and never finished it- should I try again?

I've heard Foley compared to Kleypas before too. I've been meaning to try her. I always hear her Knight series recommended.

Just finished The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley and I loved it! I'd recommend to anyone who hasn't read it yet. I have a couple other Jennifer Ashley novels I'm going to read now since I liked that one so much.

Bekah, do you like paranormal? You could read her Darkness Chosen books. There are only four. The reviews are so-so, but I really liked them. The heroes are pretty aggressive.

I think her Governess series is more interesting. I'm a big fan of Dodd, but I do feel her earlier medievals were tedious, although I liked them.

I just finished reading Brenda Joyce's The Masquerade and really enjoyed it. As is often the case with me, I read out of order in a series. Will need to look into her other books, but this one was really good. About a woman who attempts to pass off her sister's child as her own and present him to his father. The whole assorted mess started while the three attended a Masquerade in which the male pursues the main character only to later find the she and her sister have switched costumes and the result being a little bundle of joy named Ned. Confusing? I don't think many authors could pull this one off, but it was really good.

I haven't read the Princess series yet, but I'm looking forward to reading them. I did read the "Lost Princess" series & really liked them! Some Enchanted Evening, The Barefoot Princess, The Prince Kidnaps a Bride

I've also read the 1st four books of the Governess Bride series & love those too!

The Runaway Princess was very fun, if a bit unbelievable, but I enjoyed it very much. I will have to look at the Lost Princess series aswell. I love it when an author I have discovered has a huge backlist, more to devour : )

I think the only Governess book I haven't liked that much so far was the first one, Rules of Surrender. That one was kind of mild to me.

I loved Rules of Surrender! Some Enchanted Evening is the best in the lost princesses series. If you want an aggressive hero, there you go!

Oh- I just read Beauty Like the Night. Loved it- Camden was a lovely hero- this was definitely NOT one of those books that was spun out by the hero and heroine not talking about their feelings. I have always liked the theme of a childhood love being rekindled. I'm really enjoying Liz Carlyle but I can't afford the first one in the series- its £31 plus P&P - so getting on for US$50- looks like it is cheaper on amazon.com but they won't import.

I also read Joanna Bourne's "The Spymaster's Lady" this week and would recommend it. Plenty of plot, interesting characters-based partially in France and not a sniff of the London social scene. Ignore the trashy cover!

I would start with The Duke (if you want to start the Knight Miscellany series) or Princess (Ascension trilogy book 2, which was my fave of the three):-) My Wicked Marquess is Gaelen Foley's first book in a new series, but I would start with the KM... You can't go wrong:-)
