UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'm reading Ride the Fire (Blakewell/Kenleigh Family Trilogy, #3) by Pamela Clare and LOVING it! If you're looking for excellent historical romance, accuracy and substance, but with wonderful happily ever afters, check out Pamela Clare's historicals.

message 753: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Woohoo! Somebody offered me a deal on PBS and the Highland trilogy plus another book is on its way to me! Woohoo!!

I actually do this with Lisa's books! I haven't read the Wallflower or Hathaway series yet.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Nice, DG!!! The Secret and Ransom are some of my all time favorites.

message 756: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments Saving Grace I think was my first and still my fav.

I'm currently reading The Secret & loving it!

message 758: by D.G. (new)

D.G. They're already in the mail! I'll try to fit at least one of them next month. :)

message 759: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments The Secret (Medieval, #1) by Julie Garwood is so, so good! One of my favorite Garwoods. :) I'm jealous that you're reading it for the first time.

message 760: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 871 comments Oh wow, I have The Secret on my TBR shelf, guess I better get moving and read it!

The Secret was awesome.... also loved, loved Ransom!

Shadow Music is up next & I noticed the ratings aren't as good as the 1st two books. I'm wondering how it ties in the the other books, didn't recognize any of the characters in the synopsis..... humm?

message 762: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I don't remember, Christine. I'm sorry... it was an ok story, maybe even good, but just not as good as most of hers. If I recall correctly, I heard it was the last book she wrote in HR.

message 763: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 380 comments Until now, I hadn't seen Shadow Music grouped withe The Secret and Ransom. I have no idea if or how they relate since I haven't read them yet. I usually see it grouped with her contemporary Buchanan series, because I think the characters are supposed to be their ancestors.

message 764: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Julie, you're thinking of Shadow Dance (Buchanan, #6) by Julie Garwood as the contemporary. Shadow Music (Highlands' Lairds, #3) by Julie Garwood is the historical.

message 765: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 380 comments No, I had the right book in mind, Dhestiny. If you look on FictionDB (http://www.fictiondb.com/author/julie...), they still have Shadow Music with the Buchanans. As I recall, the characters are somehow related to them. However, I did a bit of searching and discovered that Julie Garwood's website, as well as Fantastic Fiction now has it listed with The Secret and Ransom, so maybe there are some related characters from those books too.

message 766: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Ok, I know that the characters in the historical are ancestors of those in the contemporary. I don't rmeember there being any cross over characters though.

**shrugs** Time for a re-read.

message 767: by Joeera (new)

Joeera | 254 comments I just read Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught what an amazing book

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments Is that your first Judith MacNaught book? I am going to be starting: A Kingdom of Dreams (Westmoreland, #1) by Judith McNaught soon, and I have never read her before.

message 770: by Joeera (last edited Nov 26, 2010 08:38AM) (new)

Joeera | 254 comments Yes that the first book of hers that i read now i'am reading Whitney,my love. She's an amazing author

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments As a fellow Bone's lover Bekah, I trust your judgment and have high hopes : )

I thought "Whitney, My Love" was the second one is this series?

message 772: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Whitney is book 2, Suzanne. It was written before Kingdom of Dreams, but in chronological order, it's Kingdom of Dreams, Whitney, My Love, Until You...

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments Oh right okay, thanks Dhes, does it not matter then what way round you read them?

message 774: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I read KoD first, and it made Whitney so much sweeter! Because at the end of Whitney, Whitney is reading a message from Jennifer Westmoreland (From 8 generations earlier) and it was so heart warming to read it because we know Jennifer from the earlier.

message 775: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments wow, I don't remember that!!!

Suzanne, AKOD's was my First Mcnaught a zillion years ago and today I love that book and have re-read it several times. You can't go wrong with any of her historicals.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I can't wait to start reading it! I am reading "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy, I think it is supposed to be one of those books that you are supposed to like, but for me it is just boring as hell!

Christine (Cagnes) (cagnes) | 223 comments Just read the Dante Pirates series by Marsha Canham & loved them!
Across a Moonlit Sea (Dante Pirates, #1) by Marsha Canham The Iron Rose (Dante Pirates, #2) by Marsha Canham

MashJ | 733 comments Recommendations Please!

I enjoyed the Comanche Moon book and would welcome more ideas in a similarish vein.

I'd also be interested in books including circuses as I'm trying to track down an old favourite and often reading books in the same genre will gradually lead you back to the original book.

Yes but only the middle two are linked and they run almost concurrently. I'd written to her to ask if a minor character could have her own book.

message 790: by MashJ (new)

MashJ | 733 comments I loved Bound by you touch but thought Written on your skin was so-so/ Wicked becomes you was good but not in the same league as DotS or BbyT

message 791: by Denise (new)

Denise | 47 comments Currently on a Pamela Clarekick ( Just wish her older ones were available still on Kindle!) and discovered a new author whose books I LOVED!! Ellen O'Connell I read her 2 western novels but am not interested in her dog mysteries. The 2 westerns were 5 star for me, but the covers and editing suck.

message 799: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Bekah, one thing about the I-Team series is that there are no cliff-hangers, so if you wanted to pace yourself you could. Each book is amazing, and the characters overlap so I'd definitely read them in order, but it's not like you're going to HAVE to read the next book right away.

message 800: by Heidi (new)
