Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments Yes, Julie's heroes are swoooooooon worthy! :-) A while back I read nothing but her, and then sort of got burned out. So I had to take a break, but there are some books of hers that just hold really special places in my heart. One is Saving Grace by Julie Garwood I love this book!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I love the Lairds the best and Lucas from Prince Charming. I haven't read Saving Grace yet, I think I am going to have to gove it ago!

Tanith | 50 comments Is the top 100 list in order of preference/votes?

That's a lot to add to my to-read list.

Does anyone have a method way of keeping track of their to-read list? All the books I want to read are just heaped up in one list. I’m struggling to prioritise...

message 458: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments That is the ranking according to votes recieved.

Did you know you can add shelves on goodreads, and make them "exclusive" so they show up like the goodreads read, to-read, currently-reading shelves? Just go to My Books, Edit Shelves, scroll down to Add Shelves, add the shelves then when you're done, go back to Edit Shelves and click the Make Exclusive link.

You can create just about any kind of shelf you want and categorize them. Make Historical Romance TBR shelf, Contemporary TBR shelf, etc.

OH, and you don't HAVE to make them exclusive. Only do that if you want to use that shelf in place of the goodreads to-read or currently-reading shelf.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I printed out the list and also make a Word doc, crossing off the books I've read. From there I have something to go for.

MashJ | 733 comments So should I buy the last two in Quinn's Bridgerton series or not bother?

I really adored An Offer From a Gentleman (Bridgertons, #3) by Julia Quinn and also enjoyed When He Was Wicked (Bridgertons, #6) by Julia Quinn . I quite liked some of the others Romancing Mister Bridgerton (Bridgertons, #4) by Julia Quinn but I found To Sir Phillip, With Love (Bridgertons, #5) by Julia Quinn really disapointing and saw the reviews on the last two were mixed so I passed.

message 461: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'm going to finish them up this summer, Mshj. I have the last 2 as well.

message 462: by Tanith (last edited Jul 05, 2010 03:46PM) (new)

Tanith | 50 comments I had mixed feelings about To Sir Phillip, With Love too.
However quite enjoyed On the Way to the Wedding.
I'm going to start organising my to-reads better today while I'm at work. Might as well kill some time so the day goes by faster.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I really liked "To Sir Phillips, With Love", and "Romancing Mister Bridgerton", they are two of my faves of the series! lol, I would say carrying on reading, although "On The Way to the Wedding" is the one I like least, however we seem to have opposite tastes so you may like it! : )

message 464: by Katie (last edited Jul 06, 2010 12:56AM) (new)

Katie mortlock (katiebellem) | 5 comments I purchased all the books of the Bridgerton series and the last two were no way near as good as the rest. My favourite was "To Sir Phillip with love" - mainly because I just loved Eloise - she reminds me of me - stroppy and opinionated!

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) | 2140 comments 'To Sir Philip with Love" was not one of my favourites but I loved 'Romancing Mister Bridgerton'. Colin and Penelope are one of my favourite couples from the series.

message 466: by Tanith (new)

Tanith | 50 comments Oh! I forgot all about Penelope and Colins story. That was a good one!
I remember in one of the books before Colin telling his brothers that he would never mary her. But Penelope over heard. Man did I want to hit Colin over the head with something. Luckily he made up for it in 'Romancing Mister Bridgerton'.

message 467: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments Colin and Penelope were also one of my favorite couples. I haven't read the whole series and what I did read has been out of order. After I finish the Wallflower series I need to finish the Bridgerton series.

I'm with you on "To Sir Phillip, With Love", and though I have seen a few who appreciated it, I loved Francesca and Michael's story in "When He Was Wicked", 'cause the love scenes were really wicked haha

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I am reading The Viscount Who Loved Me, next as I feel like rereading the series. Anthony and Kates' is a good one aswell I think.

I am reading Dreaming of You at the moment. And am being reminded why Derek Craven is one of the best heroes...ever!

Yes- Penelope and Colin were lovely characters (and that scene where she is unveiled is great fun) It wasn't my favourite of the Bridgertons which would be Sophie and Benedict because it had a bit more tension and sniping! You've all reminded me why I've passed on the last two books in the series and with so many good suggestions floating around in various threads (thank you!) I think I'll try one of the other authors next.

Joy - I loved 'When He Was Wicked' as well. It's my favourite of all the Bridgerton books and not just because of the 'wicked' love scenes. It was more serious than the others although there was humour as well and Michael was drool-worthy.

Suzanne - I also like 'The Viscount Who Loved Me' because of the banter between Anthony and Kate in the beginning when they dislike each other. I thought the scene with the game of Pall Mall was hilarious.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I am reading this at the moment, and coincidentally just finished reading the Pall Mall scene. Lol I loved it, "The Mallet of Death" LMAO I just love the display of such bad sportsmanship : )

Yes, I love how they all cheat at Anthony's expense.

message 474: by Katie (new)

Katie mortlock (katiebellem) | 5 comments A big thank you to Uniqueluy Moi. I printed off the list you posted and had great fun ordering books at the library from the list. I'm looking forward to discovering some new authors! - Maybe some of them will be as good as Lisa Kleypas.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I have copied the list and am trying to work through it. Maybe that could be an idea for a yearly challenge, completeing all the books on the list

message 476: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments Suzanne I was thinking the same thing. I've read many of them, but there are many more that I haven't. It would be a great challenge.

message 477: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments There ya go! For September's reading challenge I'm thinking of making it a "Challenge Yourself Challenge" where you can choose your own personal challenge. Maybe choose to read a certain number of books from that list, or choose to read a certain number of books from your TBR shelf, or clean up a series, read a new author... all sorts of possibilities!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments That is a good idea, I am already challenging myself to read the ones on the list, I have counted and I have read about 25 of those books, so I have a load to go.

message 479: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I counted 23 that I've read, but I own at least half of them.

message 480: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I like that idea!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I don't own any of them (the ones I haven't read) I don't think! I have read all the LK, Julie Garwood, JR Ward, Susan Elizabeth Phillips and the odd one or two others, but as for the rest I just hope that they are in the library!

message 482: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments You know, I could even start it for August and make it a permanent monthly challenge, in addition to the others. Think it's too much? I mean, not everyone has to participate.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments Thats a good idea, you could make it a challenge that lasts the rest of the year. I am sure most the people on here have read at least a few of those books, or atleast the LK ones.

When I tick them off, that way I can feel like I have acheieved something! I love challenges : )

message 484: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'm glad you love the challenges, Suzanne.

I'm thinking of how best to do it so that it's something more people will want to participate. Our challenges don't have huge numbers, but I think the ladies really enjoy them.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments Challenges are great, it gives you an excuse to buy more books : )

I think that your idea of a Challenge yourself challenge is a good idea, so that people can chose how many they want to read, that way, people won't be overwhelmed with lots of books, or underwhelmed with a small amount, as you can pick yourself.

message 486: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I'm taking advantages of these challenges to read books I've owned and need to read. Of course, that doesn't stop me from buying more. :)

message 487: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckysbusyreading) | 320 comments I have this list at home and currently have read 34 of the books on the list, and have another 10 at home to read. And so far I think the list is pretty good.

A book worth your time is A Hint of Wicked from Jennifer Haymore. I picked it up on a whim and adored it!! Also Emma Wildes-Indecent Proposition.

message 488: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments Anyway you want to organize the challenge sounds good to me. Something to work towards that's for sure.

message 489: by MashJ (last edited Jul 09, 2010 02:36PM) (new)

MashJ | 733 comments I got a delivery this week ready for my holiday and oops I opened it already.

3 Liz Carlyle, 1 Mary Balogh and 1 Gaelen Foley

Unfortunately I've already dipped into "Princess" Princess (Book 2 in the Ascension Trilogy) by Gaelen Foley and it's a pass from me. I just don't seem to get GF although I thought I'd love her stuff.

Hey ho- I'm loving this one No True Gentleman (Rutledge Family, #2) by Liz Carlyle and looking forward to these two next (especially Walrafen's book- I like how all the characters link through the books).
The Devil You Know (Rutledge Family #3) by Liz Carlyle
A Deal With the Devil (Lorimer Family #2) by Liz Carlyle

and finally I'm finishing Balogh's web trilogy by reading the first one! The Gilded Web (Web, #1) by Mary Balogh

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments Two Little Lies by Liz Carlyle came into the library for me today, I am looking forward to getting my hands on it
