Several groups have successful monthly group reads, and I was wondering what you ladies, Bekah, Vale and Danielle thought about adding one to our group. It would entail asking for recommends and then holding polls for the final book and supervising the actual read.

It's not something that I have time to do right now, but I wanted to see what the rest of you think about it. Yay or Nay and would one of you have time to invest in it, or is it overkill?

And as always, thank you so much for all you do to make this group fun!

Thanks, Lady Vale!!! That sounds great. You could start the thread for a July read as it might be too late for June. People have to have time to suggest, vote, get the book, etc. How does that sound?

Sounds good to me! Should they be strictly HR since this is a LK thread or do you think varying the genre will garner more interest?

I'd ask for book recommendations that are either stand alones or 1st in a series in addition to genre preferences, etc. You probably know way more about this than I do since you've done it before.

That works for me, Lady Vale. I've heard people say that changing the avatar makes it confusing when they're looking for a particular group on the main group page, but I feel like it's a great way to update the group while keeping current by using the latest book.

Avatar - I think it's great to have the last book that was published or an upcoming one...but I also like something that will change regularly, you know? I get tired of seeing the same picture for months on end.

Carol just brought up a good point. Love in the Afternoon is coming out June 29th. Are we doing 2 books reads? I think that would be OK because most of us read more than 2 per month.

I'm not seeing it in archives either, but what concerns me is that there are only a couple of threads in there and I know I moved (but didn't delete) several to that folder a few months back.

Maybe one of the other moderators will have an idea of what might have happened to it.

There was a discussion thread with questions that some readers posted comments to. I'm pretty sad that it's all gone. :(

We can't get it back now. But I definitely don't want this to happen in the future.

It's no harm in just leaving those threads in the archives. It's entirely possible that they will be reopened one day.

Ladies, I think I'm going to change the group picture to that picture of Lisa Kleypas. That way, we don't have always keep changing the picture when a new book comes out. Less work!

There are a few threads missing from that folder, and I don't know what happened either. If none of us did it, either intentionally or accidentally, then maybe it was a Goodreads glitch. :( Let's hope that doesn't happen often!

I know! I noticed that the other day...was going to say something, and then when I came back it said 399..then today when I logged in...401! Either way...it is pretty awesome!!!
