I've recently had plenty of people going in for surgeries this month. A friend had knee surgery, a aunt had hip surgery, my brother broke his collarbone and he ended up so bad he needed surgery, and right now I have a uncle sitting in the hospital after heart surgery. This were surgeries that were needed. With as much pain as I see them in from one surgery I can't contemplate a full head to toe surgery for no reason other then to become more attractive to societies eye.
How do you feel about this?

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I think that it's completely unnecessary. People should be able to grow up however they look and have whatever scars they have gotten.

I wonder who would come up with the guidelines to "Pretty". There are so many different types of people, religions, cultures, and viewpoints. How would everyone agree? I think people are "Pretty" for different reasons. People would not longer be "Pretty" if they pretty much looks the same. What would attract you to that person?

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Absolutely nothing because I'd be so used to seeing the same features and characteristics on the other pretties. It doesn't even seem worth it to me. I would much rather just be an ugly my whole life.

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 181 comments I'd have to say...um...no way! But the idea of being completely ostracized by society if I chose not to? Not too happy-making. (had to do that :)

I do like that we are all different and special in our own little worlds. But I do find that even so... even outside of HS people do tend to be cliquey.

Gloria | 3 comments No. There are definitely parts of me I don't like, but not enough to undergo surgery. No thanks. Plus, I have a husband that loves me and finds me attractive. I have my kids and days that I do feel pretty. Why change it? In the end we all get old and "ugly." So who cares what everyone else thinks?

Good thinking... We will all be old and wrinkled and ugly. LOL! Beauty is how we carry ourselves now and it sounds like you are doing a wonderful job. =)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) I would never do something like that unless it was really necessary

Tiny ♥Hearts (tinyhearts) I thought about it once (only thought) but I will never go through with it unless necessary, like being a burn victim or something like that, but I'll nver do it...I think its commercial hollywood world that gets people to think twice about their looks and makes you take a stab at your self-esteem, personally I used to think I wanted to do it, but now not so much.

I guess some imperfections are good to keep, they may become someone elses perfections in the long run...you never know, so I say keep what you got ;) makes you more unique that way. Oh and incase you were wondering why I thought about it, I didn't like having freckles (even though they're slightly unnoticeable I hated them) so I wanted to get rid of them haha!

I'm not completely comfortable with myself. But I love myself anyway. *Kiss Kiss* *Hug Hug*
