Hi Ruthie, I'm sorry, but members are not allowed to make polls :) but I think you can make a poll outside this group and just send us the link?

Ruthie (bluephoenix20) | 129 comments Oh, ok.. I think I'll just do that then. Follow-up question, can I send links to my posts that may contain PG-16 stuff? I don't know the rules in the group regarding those "adult" content.
I don't want to offend anyone here, so a little clarification will be a great help. Thanks!

Sorry for the late response. As long as it is suitable for teens (no sexual content, explicit language, or anything of that sort, I think) you may send links or better put a warning first? :D

Connie Jordan (poetseyes) | 7 comments Hey People,

I need some reviews and I thought I could use my book stubs to offer anyone who wants to give my books a review a book stub to get the book free but duhhh I don't know how I would work that so I will post the link to my amazon page and if you are interested and can help me out (even to the point of how I would give you the stub or stub number on line) let me know

I hope this is not against the rules if so just let me know!!!

James Flamel (a_golden_leaf_in_winter) | 136 comments I'm relatively new to the whole GR site, so bear with me...

Is there any way to post italics or boldface in a comment?

Hi Braelin, yes :)

message 309: by Charlie (new)

Charlie (tfortilney) I warned you I might have dump questions ^^.
I wondered if the winners of the weekly contests are announced anywhere? I mean, I can see it in the poll but I wondered if it is announced anywhere else.
Or maybe I'm just blind :D.

Hey Charlie :) Just a few weeks ago, we started an online magazine where we post the weekly winners and their entries. If you want to check it out, here's the link: www.wssmag.wordpress.com.

Charlie (tfortilney) Oh I see, thanks :). I read about the magazine but I haven't had the time to have a look at it yet so I didn't realise that.

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4483 comments I'm starting to notice a small trend which might actually be some confusion.

If you have a story/poem to post, try posting it on our current contest. If you post it on an old one there is a chance it will not be seen as it will definitely not end up getting voted on either.

Please post stories and stuff on the current contests so members can see (or give any feedback as long as you state so). Thank you!

Is Wordpress free?
Also do we have a weekly contest and monthly submissions set up?

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10136 comments Hi there, Admins! I have a question regarding the short story half of the weekly contests. Several entries of mine couldn’t be classified as actual short stories, but rather blog entries or nonfiction editorials. I haven’t been disqualified for posting them yet, but I was just wondering if maybe I was stretching the rules a little bit too much. If you’d rather I post actual short stories instead of blogs or opinion pieces, then I’d be happy to oblige. The only reason why I didn’t do a short story for this week’s contest was because my original idea was too unworkable for me personally. I couldn’t justify making someone like Leila Warren the conquering hero because of her history with offensive humor and my own inability to do standup comedy. So instead I wrote about upcoming concerts I have in February and March. Before I venture too far down the rabbit hole, how do you guys feel about me posting blogs instead of real stories? Thanks in advance for the answer!

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 661 comments I will have to ask CJ and others what they think, but the blog posts are fine with me. I have not yet read your entry this week, but I think as long as the blog itself is kind of a story it would be fine. And I know in general you do write an actual short story for the contests, so I think an occasional post that is different is fine. It's kind of like a story about your life, in a way, which can still be considered a story.

Again, I will try to discuss with CJ and see what his thoughts are.

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10136 comments Just to stay on the safe side, I'm doing a fictional short story for the "Bookend" prompt. It'll be a nice little crime thriller called "Sexy Lunch". Oh, it already sounds like literary heaven. Hehe! Thanks for your answer, CP! :)
