Oh yes, I think many of us spend so much time here we lose reading time but it's so much fun! You will discover many great books.

And, you will hopefully get to read them if you don't spend all your time online posting comments.

But, it's fun and rewarding as well. You will find vast amounts of books that you will want to read, be prepared for a huge to-read list.

message 458: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Yes, Goodreads is dangerous, as the size of my to-read shelf shows, and it does take time away from reading, but I've met so many wonderful people and read so many excellent books I'd never have found otherwise. So worth it! And, I particularly love this group and its members!

message 459: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, I've discovered all sorts of new stuff by this site! The people here are wonderful, it's nice to get on and commiserate other book fanatics.

message 460: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Dominique, and everyone else too!

Goodreads is more than dangerous! When I started last year I had a few hundred things on TBR... now that number has quadrupled! and the number of books at home has quadrupled too.

message 461: by Noems (new)

Noems (n0ems) Hi, I'm Noemie. I'm francophone, so sorry if my english is not really good! My comfort reads are the Harry Potter books or Pride and Prejudice. I know these books by heart now, that's what I love.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Hi Noémie, Welcome to the group! Your English seems fine.

Many members here love the Harry Potter books and Pride and Prejudice.

Take a look around and feel free to post in any of the threads for various types of books, vote in the polls, etc.

Hi Noemie! I love all of Austen's books. Welcome to the group. I like your little "thumbs up" guy, too! :)

message 465: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (literaryfeline) Howdy! Christine mentioned this group and I've been lurking the last few days to get a feel for it. I figured it was time to come out of the woodwork and say hello. I love the idea behind this group and am eager to be a part of it.

I love to read all sorts of books from crime fiction to fantasy, all the variations of fiction, and some nonfiction. Among my favorite comfort read authors are Charlaine Harris, Sue Grafton, Karen E. Olson, Jim Butcher, J.K. Rowling, and Jane Austen. I could go on forever! I just discovered John Green and after reading An Abundance of Katherines by him can't wait to read more. I find him hilarious.

I look forward to getting to know all of you and being a part of this great group.

message 466: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Hello Literary Feline, and welcome! Looking forward to getting to know you also. I loved An Abundance of Katherines too and have meant to read more books by John Green since reading it, but I haven't yet. Many of your favorite authors are shared by other members here!

message 467: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (literaryfeline) Thank you for the welcome, Lisa! I'm trying to talk my husband into reading An Abundance of Katherines next. I think he'd get a kick out of it too.

message 474: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn9655) My name is Dawn, and I just found this group a couple of days ago. I spend my work days as a legal admin. assistant and my nights and weekends mostly reading. My all-time comfort book is "The Wind in the Willows" and it has been since I first read it at age 8. In the intervening 47 years, I've had to buy new copies many, many times. I read it to my kids when they were young and not so young, and its the first thing that I've bought for every one of my grandkids.

message 475: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome to the group Dawn! I think you will find lots of new friends here who share your love of books. :)

message 476: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Welcome, Dawn! I'm glad that you found us. I also first read The Wind in the Willows when I was eight. Thanks for sharing your very favorite book.

Please check out our genre threads and post whenever you'd like, and also check out our polls and bookshelves.

message 477: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (literaryfeline) Welcome, Dawn! Wind in the Willows is one of my husband's favorite childhood books. His copy is so worn, but he refuses to replace it. :-)

I think the first Fudge book was either "Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing" or "Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great" as they were both made in 1972.

Manybooks There are I think two sections on children's literature in the discussion section. Also, the bookshelf has children's literature listed. You might find some cool ideas, I know I did.

message 493: by Trixi (new)

Trixi | 2 comments Hi! I'm Trixi and decided to join and introduce myself.

I love almost all genres, I've been reading a lot about world war two and the holocaust, so I'm taking a breather from "serious" fiction and moving onto things that are funny and will make me laugh. I recently read Lamb by Christopher Moore and have since moved onto It's a Dirty Job.

I also enjoy all things lemon flavoured.

Jessika Hoover (jessalittlebooknerd) Hi everyone! I'm Jess!

I just joined and thought I would introduce myself. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all!

My favorite genres are historical fiction, southern fiction, YA, fantasy and some chick lit every so often, but I will give every book a try. My favorite author is Stephen King :)

Well, I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

message 500: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Hi Jess, Welcome to the group. It sounds as though you'll fit right in. Have a look at our book genre threads and chat threads, bookshelves, and polls. If you mention your comfort read books in the genre threads you can add them to our bookshelves, or Lee or I will be happy to do it for you. Looking forward to getting to know you.
