The words come up like word-vomit and just take their own route.
Like how the Guardian isn't supposed to be coming in until the fifth chapter, but it seemed like the perfect place to put it in this one.
Hey Happymonster, if the outline kills you, then skip it. Draw up a rough idea of what you want, and then just write. That's what I do, and it works pretty well for me. Wrote a whole book in a month, for NaNoWriMo, that way. Just find a way that works for you.

It ticks me off that NaNoWriMo is during school...cause I try and do it and school gets in the way -_-''
I know... Though my friend from school and I both did it, and half of why I did it was to beat her. XD I did a lot of writing in school, too.
No, you can't. And it's 50,000 words in 30 days. That's three typed pages a day. Sure, you can start planning it early, but you can't start actually writing it until November 1st each year.
Nope. Whatever you want to write, 50,000 words, one month. It seems easy, but it's really not. This last year I took an idea from 4 or 5 years ago and started it over completely, just keeping the plot. I'd started writing on the idea back when I first had it and it sucked. Now, my younger sister read it and loved it. :P
You could, I think. But 50,000 is a lot for poems... You could do a poetry or short story collection though, I'm pretty sure...

Wait, so you're supposed to write one collective thing. Not just random tidbits of writing genius?
Mhmm. One collective thing. If you wanted to do a themed poetry or short story collection, I'd imagine that would be okay...

I didn't notice it was up there until somebody pointed it out. It was creepy since I didn't know it was on my name.
Wow, this is my first time ever hearing about NaNoWriMo... I even Google'd it until I saw you guys posted everything I needed to know about it.
I might actually try it this year. Anyone can join, right?

Just check out the official NaNoWriMo site - there's a lot of information there. But basically, you just have to write a book that is 50,000 words long, but you can only start writing on the first of November, and the deadline is midnight (local time) on November 30th. The book can be about anything, but it has to be fiction. On the site, it said something like "This is about quantity, not quality" - and like Snow said, you have to write about 3 typed pages a day.
And I'm surprised that no one said NaNoWriMo as their "Hardest thing you've ever done"

INFO PLEASE
I hadn't thought about it before, but now that I have... Yeah, I have to agree that they're similar.
