Angie (askangie) Well, I learned last year that I can write 1,000 words a week without trying to hard. So I'll say that's the minimum for those weeks when the world intrudes.

When it doesn't, I should write double. So for myself, as a reminder, that's 2,000 words.

And by year's end, in addition to whatever comes into my brain at NaNo time, I'd like to write a rough draft of THE FANTASY NOVEL (it's like my Moby Dick), aka The Jewel of the Lioness.

Angie (askangie) Much luck to everyone else this year as well. Intention is my New Year's Resolution.

LaNaria (laenae) Love the name of your topic, A.M.'s Creation Cubby , makes me imagine a scientist creating robots in his cubicle. (lol...I have a wild imagination)

message 8: by Angie (new)

Angie (askangie) Thanks for all the good wishes! BTW, LaNaria, sometimes my characters can be somewhat robotic. lol None of us would be here if we didn't have wild imaginations.

message 9: by LaNaria (new)

LaNaria (laenae) I think were just (cough, cough) wild.

Angie (askangie) Ok, I hate resolutions. I seem to fail if I make them and succeed when I don't. Let's see, since Jan. 1st: partner had gall bladder surgery (she's better now); I've hurt my back; my mother's been in the ER twice (she's maybe ok?). But it's still no excuse for ZERO words.

So now I already "owe" four thousand words to myself.

Wait, I wrote a haiku. Seventeen syllables down!

Angie (askangie) Have made a tiny bit of progress on my fantasy novel (haven't counted the words yet). I am sure to be able to write more now. I fractured my ankle when I fell in the parking lot at work (ice). Lots of sitting with elevation will be required...

Ouch! Hope it gets better soon - at least you got a reason for just sitting around writing instead of exercising or other stuff ;)
