I found this quote for my Facebook status
"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day." ~Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Donnajo | 4355 comments Well got some sad news this morning. My sister went and called our neighbor at the shore to wish her a Happy birthday (it's today) and it turns out we got bad news. The neighbor's mom had just passed away and she was waiting for phone call since the mom lives at the brother's house this time of year. So the person I give a bag of books to a few times a year has left us. She said she just talked to her yesterday and she was fine. So now we are waiting to see what the plans are because they are bringing her back to NJ for the funeral. All I keep thinking about is I wasn't able to give her the bag I had downstairs. Her christmas card said she was looking forward to seeing me this summer at the shore.

DJ, sorry to hear of your bad news. It's hard to lose people who hold a special place in our lives.

Donnajo | 4355 comments I told my sister how I felt about the bag of books I had going on the side for Mrs. P. And how I don't want to just give them to Salvation Army or the library. I want to pass them on to someone else. So I at first thought the hospital near me. But then she came up with the idea of the senior center in town here. Or the senior complex up the highway I replied to the last one you can't even get past the gate on that one and she said the guard would probably take them. I liked the idea of the senior center in town. I know that is where I go vote and there is a bookcase as soon as you walk in so it might be easy just to drop them off with a note. And at some point I will mention it to the mrs. P's Daughter who is the neighbor.
