Oh and that tattoo parlor scene..... Oh! *sigh*

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Did anyone get lost sometimes what with the whole jumping through time, and then revisiting the same time and place?

The first time I had a really hard time with this book. Later, after reading the others, I reread it and like the book a lot more that time!

I'm a bit odd, the more complicated the timeline in a book the more interested I am in keeping it straight so I pay better attention.
By the way, this was the first Karen Chance book I read, and it got me hooked, partly because of the complicated timeline.

Mel (mel_b) | 1384 comments The nice thing is that you discover new things while re-reading. Also, things start to either make more sense or make sense in a different way. Never gets boring.

Mariah | 21 comments I started this series from the begining..
I liked this book the best so far, havent read Curse the Dawn yet (on hold at library), but I just started reading Midnight's Daughter and I must say it starts off a wholelot better than the 1st Cassie Palmer book

message 7: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) Mariah, I think Midnight's Daughter starts off better than the Cassie's because I think she figured most people reading the Dory books had already read her Cassie ones, so she didn't need to do so much world building and info dumping in the first book.

Or maybe it was just that we had already read the Cassie's so we already knew the world and it was much easier to jump right in.

Mariah | 21 comments Yes Laura, I agree. A lot less catching up to do, her first book was non~stop catch up. I actually think I like Dory better than Cassie, she just seems tuff, even tho Cassie was just human, she just seemed way more vunerable....I'm only at ch.4 but what abou tthat scene on the airplane huh? that was pretty intense!

message 9: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) I read both Midnight's Daughter & Death's Mistress in 3-4 days last week--I loved them. And yes, I think I like Dory better than Cassie too. And I like LC more than Mircea, but Pritkin is in a class of his own. :)

Mel (mel_b) | 1384 comments The plane scene! That was hot. It totally had me starting to drool over LC. Totally!
