Cover image size

When I upload a cover image from Amazon (I save the image then upload from my computer) it tends to come out smaller than the other cover images. Is there a trick to getting it to show at the right size?

I think I figured it out. Amazon has extra space around their images that I have to crop out before uploading. Is there a way to tell the system to do this automatically or does it always have to be done manually?

Amazon does not always have whitespace, but if it is there it would have to be removed manually.
