Hi everyone, I'm Jackie. I joined GoodReads a little over a month ago and, like Becky said, I saw your club and just had to join.I've been readings lots of YA lately and loving it. I just finished Poison Study by Maria V Snyder and am about to finish up The Iron King by Julie Kagawa.
Looking forward to chatting with you all and getting some great book recommendations.
Hey, guys! My name is K.Dawn Byrd and I love young adult fiction. I've been reading Simone Elkeles and am enjoying her work. Not only do I love reading YA fiction, I've found that I love writing it. My first young adult romance relased a couple of days ago and I just signed a contract for a young adult mystery series for next year. I'm excited about being a part of the group!
Hi!My name is J.D. and I was invited a while back, but didn't make any posts until now. I am in love with YA books, because I like the way they flow. Plus, they tend to have more interesting plots (IMO). :)
My first book will be published on August 1st! :)
Hello! My name is Lisa McCombs and I am a YA addict. I try to read at least four YA novels a week, but my writing sometimes gets in the way. I recently published my first YA novel, Abby, and am currently working on the next book in what I hope to be a trilogy. You can read more about that on my blog Lisa-McCombs@blogspot.com.Enough advertising, though. I am serious about YA literature and want to recommend Will Grayson Will Grayson. It is one of the best stories I've read in a while. I,too, enjoyed the Vampire Academy series, Twilight and P.C.Cast.

To be honest, I still haven't finished the last one because of that very reason. I.m putting it off, but plan to pick it up again soon.
Hello everyone! I'm new to this group and new to goodreads. I recently started reading much more than I have in the past. I've always gone through spells of reading anything I can get my hands on and then not reading anything for months or years. But I've promised myself that this time will be different. As for what interests me in YA, I can't really say for sure. I'd have to agree with what alot of you have said that YA books are pretty easy to read and usually have undertones that speak to adults.
As for what I'm reading, right now I'm working on the Percy Jackson series and just finished The Hunger Games. Only read the first two PJ books and was pretty disappointed with Mockingjay but really enjoyed the first two. I've also gone back and re-read some of my favorites from my younger days.
Favorite authors: Gary Paulsen, J.K. Rowling, Brian Jacques, and others
Favorited YA books/series: Harry Potter, Redwall, The Hunger Games, Hatchet & The Car (Paulsen)
Anyway, I hope to get caught up on some of the great books a series that I've missed over the last few years. Thanks!
Welcome Patrick! Recommendations will not be a problem on Goodreads. My To Read list has skyrocketed, and as of this morning I realized that I have purchased 139 books that I need to still read.Be warned! :)
Hi there. My name is Michelle (Mish for short). I’ve been a member of goodreads for a while but new to this group. I’m a mum from Melbourne Victoria and I love to read anything with a good story line.My niece gave me my first YA book to read, which was the Twilight series and since then I’m finding myself reading more and more YA fiction and absolutely loving it. In particular fantasy, paranormal and romance. My favourite YA Authors are Isobelle Carmody and Maggie Stiefvater.
I’m looking forward to talking with you all and sharing recommendations :)
Um, hi. :) i'm 25 from England, and i love all kinds of young adult books. And i get defencive when some judgemental people say they're just for kids. Anyone can read YA books! lol anyway, i recently got into the hunger games and mortal instruments. they are both great. and plus, i'm a twihard, so of course, i am a twilight fan! lol
Hi my name is Courtney I love YA books. I am in my mid 30s and an avid reader. I love to take some time and sift through YA blogs to find out what is new and upcoming. I wanted a place where it would all be at my fingertips so I joined goodreads to log all my books and so what others are reading too. Also to keep track,... 'cause some books just run all together and when I want to recommend something to my friends I have a hard time recalling exactly which one. I am also an avid fan of the "In Death" (it is a futuristic drama about a female NYPD homicide cop and her gorgeous, Irish, reformed criminal, wealthy husband) adult series by J.D. Robb and Nora Roberts(Nora Roberts' pen name) and I like a good deal written by Nora Roberts too. My most recent YA book crush is with Neal Shusterman and his books Unwind, The Schwa Was Here, and Bruiser. Can't wait to see all your great recommendations and reviews!!!
Katheryn wrote: " And i get defencive when some judgemental people say they're just for kids. Anyone can read YA books! lol .."LOL. Me too. At some point you just have to ignore them. And anyways, I can't even go near a bookstore and smell a YA section on it. That is where I will always be found, haha :) welcome to the group.
Hi all! I just joined today. I have an 18 year old daughter and we often exchange books so I end up reading quite a few books for young adults/teens. I just finished Hate List yesterday and loved it. I read it in less than 24 hours. LOLI also have to admit that I read Twilight before my daughter did and introduced her to the series. I've always had a fascination with vampire stories.
I'm in my second semester of culinary school and I live near Kansas City, MO. My profile pretty much covers all of my "must know" info.
Hi,I'm a 21 y/o girl from Denmark. I loved reading as a kid, but as I grew up I lost the insterest. I read The Golden Compass in 2008 and that's what got me into reading again :)
Hi! Charley,I'd recommend the Hush, Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick as it's third and final installment comes out in a few months. And DEFINITELY
it's the best book I've read in a long time!
Hi all, I'm David and I love YA books, always have, always will. Currently I'm trying to read every dystopian I can get my hands on :)

Hi Everyone!!! I'm Vanessa. 21 y/o. Love YA books. My current genre of interest right now is Dystopian!! Been devouring them each chance I get. Inspired to write one myself :)
Thanks Dave! Right? Just something about them...lol. Reading the Matched Trilogy right now by Allie Condie.Everyone, feel free to add me. New to the group as I am new to Goodreads all together.
I'm a YA librarian so I look for books my teen patrons will like but I absolutely love reading YA books myself and frequently recommend titles to adult friends. I've noticed a lot of adult readers for Libba Bray's The Diviners and I can recommend Cory Doctorow's new book, Pirate Cinema, for adult YA readers.
Linda wrote: "I love the Matched Trilogy too. Can't wait for the third one coming soon."Did we just become best friends? (Step Brothers reference) Yes! Pre-Ordered it not to long ago. Can't wait to read it either.
I don't like to wait till preorder and will search for it in a bookstore on the pub date, mid November I think.
