Hello. I'm really new in this group and here in goodreads. So, yeah, I really enjoy reading YA. I dig books like the Harry Potter and Hunger Games series. Or books that make my heart ache like Where She Went and Forbidden. Or light romantic reads like Perfect Chemistry. ^_^

Hey all you new people! (I am really behind on welcomes so forgive me)R.G., next time can you bring chocolate covered donuts? I love those! Jelly donuts are, ahem, gross. Just throwing that out there. Not pointing fingers or anything. I'm merely implying that chocolate covered donuts can give you best friend potential. No, not best friend, bff!
Hi everyone,I teach high school English and I'm a self-published author of a YA series. I really enjoy reading YA book. My ninth graders love Armageddon Summer. It leads to great discussion about religion and families.

(said in awe): It's like Christmas, a birthday, winning the lottery, finding $20 bucks in your pocket, paid leave, 70 degree sunny weather, and a smile.... wrapped together and sitting on that one paper towel. It's enough to make me cry!
Hello everyone! My name is Shay, I am an Army wife, have a teenage son, two cats and one dog. I am an avid reader of almost all genres. I read a lot of YA now days. When I am not reading I am most likely writing. If I am not doing either of those I am probably playing video games, riding my bicycle, or shopping for books.
Currently I am reading Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Skippy Dies by Paul Murray.

Hello, I'm Felicia. I'm a mother, reader, and a YA author. I'm here to discuss YA books. Can't wait to get to know you guys.

https://sites.google.com/site/anabars...
I'm trying to devlop a fun site for readers to get extra information about my books. I'm just getting started with this, and I have plans to expand it and polish the format.
Thanks,
Will
Hi there,I'm Kimmy...yet another newbie, hoping to make some friends, and get to know some more books to fill my brain cells.
I'm starting to feel like I'm stalking Cambria lol. I promise I'm not intentionally stalking you. I keep noticing comments of interest and wanting to respond then adding another group. But hey at least with this one I remembered to introduce myself.I'm Jenn, I'm 30 with 3 kids and I am addicted to Young Adult Novels. And I'm really not interested in the 12 step program to make me stop lol. Currently I'm reading Betrayed by PC Cast and it's taking me forever because it's not nearly as good as Marked. It's actually been on my ipod over 24 hours and I have not yet finished it.
I've heard a lot about PC Cast and those novels but I've yet to try any. The only ones I've read successfully was Twilight. I tried another one, can't remember the name, but I just couldn't get into it.Thanks for sharing.
My main issue with the series initially was the main character read like a walking just say no campaign to the point it seriously affected her believability. With the one I'm reading now all the characters except the bad ones read like that.
Hello, Timmain here. Thanks for the opportunity to join what seems to be a fantastic group! I am a mother of three and have been reading a lot of YA lately as my sons are in the habit of constantly recommending titles for me. I do love young adult fantasy so it isn't hard to give in to their choices for me :) I have already noticed several titles from your posts that I need to look into.
Welcome welcome!I wish we had a welcome song here. But that might be because I'm a professional Girl Scout and think there should be a song for every occasion.
Hello! My names Chelsea. I love YA books and all the other young adult groups out there don't seem as active so I'm looking for some good book suggestions and some friends for goodreads because I only have 1! Haha. Im work at the Circulation Desk at my library and I'm constantly interlibrary loaning books.
Hi Everyone:I'm an author of a number of humor books and children's books. I just wrote my first young adult novel called Are You Going To Kiss Me Now? I wrote it with adults in mind so I think you might enjoy it if you're looking for some light, summer reading that'll make you laugh. Anyway, let me know and thanks for the great forum.
Best,
Sloane Tanen
Welcome to all the newcomers! Sorry I went a bit AWOL. It was my last week working as a nanny, and I dealt with a little bit of sadness when the family moved to South Carolina on Friday. I just couldn't bring myself to be cheerful and online at the same time over the weekend.Well, I'm back, and hope to be poking around the group today. Anyway, it's exciting to see the group attracting so many new faces.

I'm Angela and I am a mother of two (my daughter is 15mo. and I'll have another in december), who loves YA. Paranormal, Dystopian, and Fantasy are my favorite. But I have enjoyed others as well, but mostly you'll probably see me suggesting those three. This is my first group and it seems pretty good so far so thanks!Angela in Colorado
@Chelsea, I like to add new friends on here when they have similar books on their account as read or to read. Have you check the friend suggestions for their book similarities? Also feel free to add me if you have similar reading interests.
Welcome all you new people! This group is the best. If your looking for book suggestions, don't worry. Your TBR pile is about to explode.
Welcome to the group!! You will find lots of new books to read, lots of topics to comment on and please feel free to create your own topic for us to comment on too!!
I am always open to suggestions, so if anyone has any, please send them my way!

Welcome everyone!...and Jenn, there is NO need to stop! You've found the support group that supports *continuing* to read YA! lol
I'm curious about our group... is it all adults? (as the group is YA4A) Or do we have some teens in our group?I've started a 'what's your age' poll, if anyone wants to participate (and don't worry, it's anonymous!)
http://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/48...
cheers,
Jody
Jody, I'm definitely not a teenager (or a young adult, for that matter). Let's just say I have quite a few years of reading under my belt! :) But, I'm young at heart and love to read YA fantasy.
Catie wrote: "Welcome to everyone new that I've missed! I had a super busy past three weeks so I've been lurking around here more than anything.I am so excited about the Jaime sighting!"
My reaction was. Moderator??? Sorry Jaime.
Yes, a Jaime sighting is rare indeed! I am glad I was here to witness it as it's a decennial event (I looked it up).
Hmmm... not so sure how this is supposed to go, but I'm new so I figured I'd introduce myself!I'm Gina, a sophomore in college and a reading fanatic ever since I can remember. I'm just now starting to have time for leisure reading so I've been paying more attention to goodreads lately, more specifically this group (which I found thanks to search and love already)
So, hello everyone :) Look forward to seeing all of you around the discussions
Hi everyone, I joined a few days ago, but never got to introduce myself.
Reading and collecting books are two of the things I like doing. YA fiction is my top favorite - fantasy, dystopian, historical - you name it, I like it.
I used to do a lot of reading growing up (and especially during college years, I went to a Liberal Arts college and took up Humanities), but have actually stopped when I graduated and started working. However, I'm returning to my first love and have restarted on reading again.
I'm glad to have seen this; it seems like a lively group. Glad to meet you all. I'm looking forward to interacting in the discussions here. :)
Hi I'm kirpa from San Jose CA and I absolutely LOVE reading and yes, I'm one of those people who use caps lock for emphasis. My fave books are *the mortal instruments* by Cassandra Clare, *the infernal devices* also by Cassandra Clare, *the wolves of mercy falls* (already mentioned in this thread), *the evernight series* by Claudia gray, and *the hunger games* by Suzanne Collins. As for twilight, I admit to have being a freak for a couple of years but i re-read the books and deemed myself crazy to have been in love with a book that, now I don't find so great. However, I don't regret reading them because thats what actually got me interested in reading and if I hadn't read them I wouldn't have discovered all the amazing novels I've come across since. :)
