Cori wrote: "Thanks for the warm welcome :) JEN - I hope you enjoy it, and if you do I have tons of recommendations :D.."that would be great :) & yea I am enjoying it a lot. I even went out and bought the rest of the books in the Mortal Instruments series, including the last one that came out this month, lol.
Hi All,I'm Sue and I just joined this group today. I am very happy to see a group here on Goodreads for those of us who are adults, but love YA fiction! My favorite genre within YA is paranormal/fantasy. I, like many others started reading YA after I read the Twilight Saga. I subscribe to Entertainment Weekly and I read a blurb on the Saga in that magazine before Breaking Dawn came out. I picked up the first book and immediately ordered the next 2, and luckily Breaking Dawn came out while I was reading Eclipse.
Anyway, I digress. I mostly read YA on my kindle, but I also read some adult paranormal, and urban fantasy like Patricia Briggs and Charlaine Harris. My favorite series' are Twlight, Vampire Academy, the Hunger Games trilogy and the Morganville Vampires series. I look forward to getting some recommendations of what I should read next. I am currently reading Patricia Briggs Alpha & Omega (not YA).
Welcome Sue! I LOVE Entertainment Weekly! I subscribe too. I wish they would cover more YA titles in the book section.
Why hello. I'm Rebecca and I'm part of the Harry Potter generation of bookworms. I started reading when I was 8 years old and came across Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban at a school book fair.My favourite genre of YA would have to be fantasy, but I am also very fond of dystopian YA. My top 3 book series would have to be Harry Potter, Maria V. Snyder's study series and the hunger games trilogy. :)
Welcome! I'm kind of in love with Dystopian novel as of late. And by that I mean this past year.We are all book pushers in this group and your "To Be Read" list is about to get out of control.
Wow! So many new members! A big hello to everyone! I look forward to hearing about all your fav. books!

I acutally just bought the first book the other day! I'll start that as soon as I finish Misguided Angel from The Blue Blood series.
I just found this group yesterday! I'm still fairly close to teenage at 22, but I do feel like now I read it from an adult's perspective. I have a BA in creative writing, and I'm starting an MA in children's literature in September. I'm excited to be here!
Amy :o) wrote: I acutally just bought the first book the other day! I'll start that as soon as I finish Misguide..."yay!!! I like the blue blood series as well. Can't wait to hear what you think of VA!
Hello! My name is Angela and I just joined this group a few days ago, and it's nice to know I'm not the only Adult YA reader around :) My love of YA led to my writing and my first YA novel, Songbird, is being released this summer.
I'm really interested in seeing if what appeals to me about YA books is also what appeals to other adults.
Hi my name is Kellie, I am a stay at home mother of 3 and I am a bookaholic. My husband often jokes that I love reading more than him. I read every chance I can get especially YA. I also enjoy Charlaine Harris, Richelle Mead, PC Cast, Cassandra Clare and Suzanne Collins.I am so happy to have found other adults that love reading YA.
I love love Chaos Walking! Good reads. I also like the Sookie Stackhouse books and Hunger Games.Welcome to the group.
Hey all. I'm Jessie. I love all kinds of books. Right now I am on a MAJOR YA and/or dystopia trend. Just finished Hunger Games, Uglies, The Lends and The Looker, and others. But I love all kinds of books, and am actually reading Maureen Johnson's Last Little Blue Envelope currently :)
Hello all. I just joined this group after finding it knowing that I've found a home for my slight obsession of YA books, specifically ones involving dystopian societies. My name is Heather, started reading YA after a friend sucked me into the Twilight world. Loved the Hunger Games series, The Summoning and a few others.
Looking forward to reading and meeting you fellow YA addicts!
Jessie wrote: "and am actually reading Maureen Johnson's Last Little Blue Envelope currently :)"dying to get that book. Read the first one a while back and loved it. Welcome ^^

I just can't help it, once I start a book I can't put it down until it's done :)

I have an authorcrush on Rebecca Maizel, J.K. Rowling, Richelle Mead & Paulo Coelho. And my most recent authorcrushes are on Jennifer Donnelly, Mandy Hubbard and A.M. Robinson.
I guess I have a lot, hehe :)
Hey everybody. I'm Patti, 40 and proud to still enjoy YA fiction. I'm a yank living in S. Germany and since my local bookstore's english section is abominable I was hoping to get the scoop on some great reads. I LOVE the Harry Potter stories and have a huge authorcrush on JKR. The Hunger Games were amazing - was so happy I was late coming into that as I ordered the last two in the series after I read the first over a weekend. The Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices are good and I also really enjoyed His Dark Materials. Oh and Artemis Fowl was great. Can't wait to learn of other books I should read. Been looking at the at the House of Night series - are they good?
Hey Patti, welcome! The House of night series, IMO, is not very good at all. Instead I would recommend you give the, Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead, a try.

Thanks for the heads up, Jen. After trolling around the site I read some similar reviews so decided to spare myself the trouble. I'll take a look at the VA. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi everybody! My name is Jess. I'm a huge fan of YA fiction. I especially love a nice long series that I can obsess over for a good long time. Some of my favorites are Harry Potter, Hunger Games (I'm still a little "meh" about Mockingjay, though,), His Dark Materials, Uglies, The Gemma Doyle trilogy.
Hi, I'm the author of a series that has been reviewed as A YA novel written for adults, so this group is a very welcome find for me.You can find books one and two The Judas Syndrome and Rebirth, on amazon in paperback and for the kindle (just $2.99 a piece).

This made me laugh "book babies" :D
@Patti: No problem and your welcome ;)@Jessica: Welcome to the group ;) & i'm dying to read the Gemma Doyle trilogy. I've read quotes from those books that I've really liked.
Your welcome, Jessica. And I'm glad to hear that because I definitely plan on getting book 1 soon, in that trilogy :)
Hello everyone! I joined a few days ago but hadn't had the chance to stop by and introduce myself. I loved to read from children's books to young adult to even adult books. In fact, right now I'm on Spirit Bound in the Vampire Academy series and when I finish up that series I'll be catching up on the latest Sookie Stackhouse novel! I hope to have a lot of fun here. :)
