Hi, my name is Michelle and I'm a friend of Lori & Becky. I won't even begin to put the YA books I've read on here. Many, many, many. I LOVED The Darkest Powers trilogy......did not want it to end either.
Michelle, I may have to set your books aside and read this trilogy instead. Might only have one to bring backto you when I visit again.
LOL No problem. I really wish Kelly Armstrong would do more with this story like she did with the Women of the Otherworld. It is one of my favourite series.
PEEP, I agree with you on "The Help" It isn't a books I would have ever pickedup on my own but it was a bookclub choice. It was a REALLY GOOD book. full of laughter and tears, It even had me quite angry at times. I will reread that one a couple years from now.
@ Lori, you mentioned that you like YA Vampire novels, you should check out my new novel, Imprinted Souls. :) @ Michelle, I also wish she would do more with that story, and in my opinion, the way it ended really makes that possible... Daniele

Haha, Daniele I already added it to my to-reads list, lol. I saw your post earlier about it and had to check it out.
lol Don't you just love this website? It's good to have an organized reading list, especially with so many great books coming out!
My problem is, my list is getting HUGE,lol.Yes I love this site. I have found so many great books here. I really like how GR lets you know what is coming out so far in advanced, especially with the series books.

The one thing I don't like about most of the YA books is the long time it takes for a couple to finally realize they belong together. Boom they are together and boom the book is done. =(
Hi Michelle,I haven't read the Otherworld series yet, but I will check it out! It's true that in most YA books it takes a long time for the couple to realize they belong together and then when they do, you don't want the series to be over, but that builds up the whole innocence scenario in those books.
I do however, believe that Imprinted Souls deviates from that scenario quite a bit. :)
Wecldome everyone! I loved the Darkest Trilogy also. Was so sad when it ended!
Well...hey there Lori and Michelle...i knew if I sent you the link it wouldn't be long before you joined. Lots of great suggestions here....Lori..guess this means the to-read list is going to get that much longer...
Becky,Going to get?????? have you not seen and update from me in the past couple days? It already HAS gotten longer, lol
Hi everyone,Ive been on goodreads for a few months and just joined this group. Im so glad to see that Im not the only adult that loves YA books. Im a 25 year old grad student at UNC. I love reading YA books, but a lot of my classmates make me feel silly for reading them. I recently got a kindle so now I can hide what Im reading. lol My favorite YA books so far are The Hunger Games (Team Peeta), The Twilight Saga (Team Jacob), and The Vampire Academy (Team Adrian). I also like to read some adult paranormal romance books like The Black Dagger Brotherhood. I can't wait to start discussing books with all of you!
Oh ya Butch! I just started that series the other day...I'm on #4 now. I LOVE it!Oh and welcome Rebecca!
Thanks everyone! I read through some of the older posts and this seems like an awesome group! You all had me laughing a lot! Can't wait to join in!
Welcome Rebecca! This is a great group. If I'm going to hear about a great new book, it's probably going to happen here.
hello everyone ! like you see my name is narcissa and i ve been a member of goodreaders for a few months ...
im 21 but never mind how old am i , i belive i will always be YA fan :DDD ...
my fav authors are: j.k.rowling , step meyer , gena showalter, meg cabot , simone elkeles . r.l.stine etc... any recommendation is welcome ;) !
Welcome Narcissa! This is a great place for YA fans. Im sure your TBR list will explode just from reading the threads. I know mine has! As for recommendations, most people (including myself) in this group love The Hunger Games. So if you haven't read it already, I highly recommend it. Some of my other favorites are The Vampire Academy and The Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Im currently reading The Study series and it is really good so far.
The mortal instruments by Cassandra Clare and the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead are also really good.
HI my name is Katie and I am 29. I have four kids eight and under so when I go to the library. I find myself reading a lot young adult and children lit. It's way to hard to drag them over to the adult section. In the past few months I have read Hunger Games, City of Bones, The book theif and a few others. I do love Harry Potter. So I am interested in seeing what else is a good read in those sections.
Hi, I'm Larissa. Um Yeah...I forgot what I was gonna say. Anyway, I enjoy YA books because the writing seems more fluant than adult writers, and seem to have better plots. Seems I've ran out of things to say.

Thank you for the welcomes. It's nice to have a place where I don't feel like a fool for reading YA books.
Narcissa wrote: "Rebecca wrote: "Welcome Narcissa! This is a great place for YA fans. Im sure your TBR list will explode just from reading the threads. I know mine has! As for recommendations, most people (includin..."Heres the description:
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before-and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
I just joined the group and goodreads. I just finished reading The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and I must say, its one of those YA books you just can't get enough of (one of my top favorites). My other 2 favorites so far are Hunger Games and Catching Fre by Suzzane Collins (can't wait for August 25 -release date of Mocking Jay here in the Phil), Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer, Fallen by Lauren Kate. Next on my agenda are The Bartemeous Trilogy, Vampire Academy, Incarceron, Evernight Series...whew! Still a whole bunch to read and my list just keeps going and going....
Welcome Yvonne! The Mortal Instruments series is next on my TBR list. I love the Vampire Academy! Im sure you will enjoy it. Your TBR list will just keep getting bigger on these boards. lol
Welcome, Yvonne! I also loved The Mortal Instruments series. I just finished the first two and have to read the last one. The Hunger Games series is incredible and is a big hit around here. Twilight is one of my faves too. :)
Narcissa,I know the idea of kids killing one another in volient manner didn't appeal to me but I gave Hunger Games a chance and I found I really liked it. Give it a good chance. However you may be one those people who didn't like Hunger Games. I know my Mom hated it and we usually have simialer tastes in books.
Larissa wrote: "Thank you for the welcomes. It's nice to have a place where I don't feel like a fool for reading YA books."Hi Larissa. I know what you mean. Sad that you have to feel foolish for enjoying YA books. The thing is, many of these books I've been reading lately are better than most of the "adult" books I've read. Then again, I collected and read comics for the majority of my life, yet still won't take a graphic novel on the bus. Stupid social stigmas! :P
katie and rebecca ty 4 review ... are there many descriptions in the book? and is there romance ? some cute boy and so on ? :D ... im sucker 4 teen love :))) ... now im reading iron king and so far im not impressed ...
Narcissa,Yes there is Romance is the book. In fact there is a little bit of a love triangle and no one is sure right now where it's going to end up. I really think you should give it a try.

Greetings, goodreads fam-
above are two links to a new book released in June. Its quickly picking up steam in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles in lieu of the positive messages it presents towards against gang violence.
Narcissa, you are right, just reading 5mins of old posts in this topic has just increased my TBR list of around 3-4 YA book series. I think I need a whole day to read these posts and update my Read and TBR lists. Now, as adult as I can be... I need to get back to work. Catch you all later!
Happy to meet everyone!
Narcissa wrote: "katie and rebecca ty 4 review ... are there many descriptions in the book? and is there romance ? some cute boy and so on ? :D ... im sucker 4 teen love :))) ... now im reading iron king and so fa..."There is definitely romance in the book!
