Hey all!! I'm from Chicago, and I'm a HUGE lover of YA books. Looking forward to lots of great discussions!!
Welcome Tabitha! We have great discussions but as you can see, we get off-topic a lot! Haha!
I recently joined your group though I am a bit longer already on goodreads. I've been a reader whole my life but my reading habbits just completely changed with the Twilight Saga though it also was my first re-read ever. Since then I became a very fast reader. I highly recommend Cassie Clare, Maggie Stiefvater and Charlaine Harris.
Welcome Jackie! A lot of the members here have read Stephenie Meyer, Cassandra Clare and Maggie Stiefvater's books.
I saw this... They are really great. I just finished "Shiver" and it was on of the most lovely love stories I've ever read!
I enjoyed reading Shiver too. You should check out Maggie's other books: Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception and Ballad: The Gathering of Faerie.
Lament and Ballad are already waiting for me here... Just need to finish "Dead in the Family" right now... And thank you for the nice welcoming :-)
Welcome, Jackie! I thought Shiver was a beautiful story too.
Really Chachic? I thought Shiver was tons better. You could tell that she grew as an author I thought. Shannen I see you have again changed your picture!
Heidi, I do remember that you think Shiver was better than Lament but I don't know, I like them the same. I think they have the same feel of writing. I didn't like Ballad as much as those two because it was a little too emo for my taste.
Just finished Lament some mins ago... Now kind of brokenhearted overhere *sighs* I really much felt for Luke and Deidre but I kind have to agree with Heidi... I liked Shiver a bit more, but might only be because of this more happy ending for Sam and Grace. Now I am curious what Ballad will bring up. Will start this today!
I liked Shiver more than Lament too.
Jackie - Hope you aren't as disappointed with Ballad as I was. It was just OK.
Heidi - Had to get a pic of Rob's new haircut!

Welcome Jackie - I finished Dead in the Family last week and it was goooood! I am a huge Eric fan though so well any book with a lot of him in it is great for me.
@ Jamie:Actually "DITF" was my second disappointment in reading this weekend. At the end I also just thought: Why couldn't he just stay in the house with her? Why had he to leave?
@ Shannen & Chachic:
I really like Ballad so far... we'll see what it brings with the further reading.
I admit it wasn't as good as some of the other ones but I liked getting to see Eric's maker and the other side that it brought out in him. He was a bit vulnerable but not as much as when he was under that spell. I also thought it showed how much Sookie has changed through out the series.
For that, Jamie, I have to absolutely agree. Sookie became so much stronger and independent. And Eric was kind of weak but nontheless I would have wished he would have stayed with her in the end...
Think we can be curious as he told her, they will be together soon... As far as I heard there will be another three books of the series.
Welcome to all the newcomers. As far as I'm concerned this group is the best in all of goodreads! I actually think it's doubled in size since I've joined. Definitely lots of helpful people to get recommendations from and toss ideas back and forth with. Pull up a chair and let us know what you're interested in!

Hello there!I'm a newcomer too, and my name is Rachel. I'm looking for some active discussion online because my town is seemingly full of illiterates. I do love fantasy and youth-oriented fantasy. And I've been through all the recent crazes, Beautiful Creatures, Hunger Games, which have been ok to good. I look forward to getting to know some new people and trading recommendations and ideas!
So how does one go about making friends on this thing anyway?
Welcome, Pete and Rachel! Join in with all the discussions and you'll be making friends in no time!
Hi! I'm Amanda from AZ living with many pets and of course love to read pretty much anything. I have been a member for awhile but never really introduced myself until now!
What a welcome that was! Makes me feel like a celebrity. Now I'll have to go find a way to deflate my ego a little bit to balance out. Maybe it's time to try on some swimsuits.
Hey newbies and not-so-newbie-lurkers! This is a great group - but we are never on topic and like to tease a LOT!
Hey everyone, I'm Ashley aka Addie. I just joined. I'm 24 and reside in Walnut Creek, CA. Reading is my passion. My favorite genre is YA.
