Kat (thatcrazykatlady) Hi, everyone. :)

I'm reading two books right now, and I have one more chosen to read after...but then, nothing. I have a small stack of books I'm considering, but I don't have a preference for which one I read next. Maybe the group can help nudge me in a particular direction?

Here are the books I'm looking at:

The Call of the Wild by Jack London
Nights Below Station Street by David Adams Richards
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
Villette by Charlotte Bronte
Flaming Iguanas by Erika Lopez

Thank you!

Emily | 4 comments I would always vote for Lolita because its such a masterpiece, but only if you're willing to feel a little bit hollow and sad once your done. Kind of like incredible sex that you will never, never have again, but ultimately worth it for the experience?

Heather Thomas (5peasinapod) | 47 comments I'm an emotional reader, so I often have different books going to suit my moods. Call of the Wild jumped out at me. I remember reading it in school and would like to do a reread. I have never read Lolita, but will add it to my tbr list.

Carol I agree with Natalie and Fiona The Flaming Iguanas, no one seems to have read it . You can be the first and give us your take on it. We have read the others.

They all look like good reads, but I never read any so I can't help...hope you decide.

Peregrine Pick up the books and go stand by your bed. Close your eyes. Move the books about in the stack a bit. Toss them one by one onto your bed. Reach out a hand, and the first one you touch is the one you read.

Carolyn F. Villette

Since I own an iguana, Id have to go with Flaming Iguanas, even tho I have no clue what it is about!

(love the title of this thread btw!)

Lianne (eclecticreading) I haven't read any of those books but Vilette looks interesting (almost picked it up one time but didn't) =)

Liesl (lieslm) | 170 comments I'd love to know what Flaming Iguanas is about and if you like it. I would say don't waste your time w/ Lolita. I was really disappointed in it. Then again, it's considered a classic so maybe everyone should read it at least once? On second thought, maybe not. It was one of the few books I've read that, when I was done, I wished I hadn't bothered.

OMG!! That is so amazingly true! I'm nearing the end of the book and that is very much what I'm feeling. Wow!

I think it has been an incredible read. :-)
