36! I started Catching Fire on Friday and finished it last night... I'm going to try to find time to read some of The Fiery Cross today, but might just read Coraline - time will tell! Off to yoga, then hoping to see a bit of the game today, hoping that my boys will win!
I just finished Horns. I'm currently reading In the Miso Soup, The Fiery Cross, and listening to The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. Once I'm done with Miso Soup, I'm going to read The Auschwitz Violin. :)
40 books, 21 letters down in the A-Z title challenge, 17 letters down in the A-Z author challenge. (Oh, and four more books left in the Book Addicts challenge!)
I'm really not going to any huge efforts to complete the author challenge, but it would be fun to finish! :)

43! I just finished Sweetness, and think I'll start listening to Abraham Verghese's Cutting for Stone this afternoon.
The only trouble is that I'll have to take a break partway though as I'm on the waiting list for the second Flavia de Luce book, and I should have it by September 10.
I should have book 44 done soon - I'm about halfway through Mockingjay.

I've got 43 too! I'll finish a few this weekend though... I don't know how much reading I'll get done this weekend, but I should be able to get through 2 audiobooks.
45! I've just finished The Fiery Cross! I must say that I'm really liking Roger. The guy knows how to tough it out! :)
I'm going to try to start Diane Setterfield's The Thirteenth Tale tonight. :)

I hit 50 yesterday... one challenge totally completed! :) (That would be the 50 books in a year challenge.)
Only three letters left to complete the A-Z title challenge.

Sooo I went to the NLCL tonight, and ran into Andrew, one of the librarians there... He totally convinced me to read Bill Willingham's Fables: Legends in Exile. It's a graphic novel, and it sounds pretty good. I'm reading it now, and then I'm really going to buckle down and read Fall of Giants so that I can finish my other challenge books! :)
Yeah... I finished up the audio book today going to and from yoga... I only had about 20 minutes left. I also only had about 20 pages left of Fables. Don't worry, those are the only tricks up my sleeve. :)
Okay, so I've decided to take the plunge and do yoga training. I've got quite a few books that I'll have to read for that, so I think I'm going to still try to complete my challenges for this year, but if I don't finish the A-Z, I'll just try again next year with it. I'm going to give up on Midnight's Children for this year, and possibly try to read it next year. With the other whacked out stuff I have to read, I just don't see Midnight's Children happening at this time. As long as I read Anja the Liar, my 12+2 challenge will be complete.
Yay for you being a yoga instructor! Your yoga books can count too... I don't know how they fit into either of your challenges...
They could fit into A-Z challenges... but it's just that they're going to disturb my other ideas. Plus, teacher training equals a lot of time away from home, and therefore equals less time to read.
So, it looks like I'm going to go with Martha. We're planning on starting the second week in January, and being done in June. :)
The bad news is that I have to talk with Jim tomorrow. FML.

But if you're going with Martha, you don't have to be away from home as much until January. I'm happy that you made this decision! I think you'll be happier with it in the end. I know it'll be hard to talk to Jim, but I really think this is the better way to go...
On the other hand, since you don't have class on Saturday, you'll be up for going to Texas Roadhouse with me?

You made it to 60! Yay! I was hoping you'd make it! That last CD of Prisoner of Birth must not be a very long one...
Well, it's just over an hour. It's just that I'm all alone today, and was able to listen to it this morning. Plus, I'd already listened to 20ish minutes of it on the way home last night. :)
What did you think of A Secret Kept? I'm going to start that one this afternoon...

I thought it was good, but not as good as Sarah's Key. I'm not sure I'll read it again, but I did like it. (I think I gave it 3 stars...)
Here's my attempt to read one more book before the end of the year! :) I recently won (and received) The Killer Within: In the Company of Monsters from www.newyorkjournalofbooks.com. I've only registered to win about five or six books from there, and I've won twice. They only have one giveaway at a time, and they never tell you when it ends. The one they're giving away right now is a kids book that looks like Anja will enjoy quite a bit. I hope I win! :)
