My birthday is right before Christmas and this year my family got me the Sony Reader! I am super psyched. I haven't had time to play with it yet, but am wondering if any of you have one and how you like it? I have so many books on my TBR list I can't wait to start downloading. I also got a giftcard for downloads for Christmas. YAY ME!

Hurray!!!!I don't have a Sony Reader, but I have a Kindle. I LOVE the e-reader and e-book world. Have fun getting it all set up! I also got a bunch of Amazon gift cards for Christmas, so I can't wait to load my Kindle with new books.
I have the Sony Reader - have had one for a year now and its fab!! - I love the touch screen.
Paula, can you download books from Amazon for the Reader? It states Kindle Books on the website so I am confused??
I have a sony e-reader and LOVE it!!! it's so much fun and so easy to use. Enjoy!
I don't think that the kindle books work on the Sony E-reader but here is a excellent site for downloading ebooks

I have never tried from Amazon, but its my impression that you cannot read the kindle format on Sony. I tend to buy my ebooks from BooksonBoard, Fictionwise and other smaller publishers. I m going to try Barnes and Noble soon (not sure if they will sell to UK)
Borders needs to start doing the eBooks too! Damn, cuz my family got me an Amazon Gift Card, I assume thinking that I could download eBooks for my reader. I guess I thought I could too :(
I got a Reader for Christmas with a gift card to Sony. I am super excited. I have already downloaded five books through www.ebookstore.sony.com. I am looking forward to adding me to my collection and using the Reader!!
My husband gave me a Sony Reader for Christmas. The kindle books don't work on the Sony Reader. I wish they did because Amazon has better prices than the Sony Store.
I've had a Reader for a few months. LOVE that I can check out ebooks from my library. Have bought books from Fictionwise and the Sony bookstore.
Just got my Sony Touch! I love it. I've been downloading the ebooks I've been dying to read that you can't really find in brick and mortar stores.

I got my Sony Reader for Christmas and i lovee it!, its so use full and better than carrying around a huge book all the time.
With a bit of subtle hinting from me, I received the Sony PRS-600 Touch for my birthday a few days ago. Sounds like it was a popular gift - my neighbour's father received one as well :)I haven't had a chance to play with it properly yet but from the little I have so far I like it.
I have a Sony PRS-600 too. I work for Sony as an ereader expect so let me know if you have any questions. Can't get books from Amazon or Barnes and Noble but there are other sites. Borders doesn't sell ebooks themselves. They supple the Sony ebook store with Books.
I have had one for a while now so it isn't the new version. But I absolutely love my reader. We are a military family so we move so much and travel all the time. It is great to be able to download the books instantly and have them all in one little device. I keep mine in my purse so if I have to wait for an appointment or anything it is right there. Plus we live over seas right now and it is so much better than having to wait for mail order on the books I want. I checked on the Kindle books for it when I first got it and they don't work. That part stinks. Under their bargain books they usually have free books. I've noticed when a new book in a series is coming out they tend to have the first one for free or on sale under bargain books. I usually don't mind getting most of the free books that look interesting. I feel less guilty if I don't like it when I didn't have to pay for it. :)

I am loving it! I just feel bad that my mom got an Amazon Gift Card for Christmas thinking I could use it to get some eBooks. :(
Ahh that stinks about the gift card. But there are occasionally books you may not be able to find on there. There were a couple of the YA one's I couldn't find so I had to order them. The Blue Bloods Series and Shiver. You can use it for the actual books of one's that aren't available on the reader. Or of course Amazon sells almost everything so I'm sure you can find a way to spend it :). I'm glad your liking it. I feel like I hardly ever put mine down.
