rofl, melodie. as we were leaving the theater, carol told me that she thought that you would just LOVE this movie and you should run right out and see it (or something along those lines)

Maria | 30 comments Ann, I am very excited to see Shutter Island as well. Mike will happily go. The trailer caught his attention. Not to mention that DeCaprio kid has turned into a hell of an actor! Perhaps next weekend. I know there was a split between those who thought SI was a great read and others who really didn't like it at all, but I'm on the great read bench. I'll smuggle in my bottle of water and my pkg of 100 calorie popcorn and be a very happy bench sitter LOL!

I am glad to hear that someone else smuggles in their own snacks. Talk about benches - I think you either love or hate movie theater popcorn.

LOL Marcy! I LOVE movie theater popcorn but would like to continue fitting into my clothes! Then there is that little cost factor. When I see people coming in with HUGE drinks of soda and 3 or 4 cartons of popcorn I can't help but think that must have cost them at least $20 or $25. The 1st time I paid $2.50 for a bottle of water at the movie theatre was the last time. In my purse goes my bottle of water and into the theatre go. No way. I know they have to make a buck but we are up to $10.00 a seat for prime time here. Steep!

Maria | 30 comments Obviously I don't know how to handle the quote feature here. Sorry about that!

My first job was an usherette at the movie theatre. During the week, worked 4 p.m. until 9. The State law that was ignored, for the manager had us do clean up after 9. Many Saturdays, I worked double shift(10 a.m. until 10 p.m.) I found myself munching on popcorn (it was free) during breaks and lunch. After working there during my senior h.s. year, for years I could no longer stand the smell of popcorn at all. About 20 years later, I finally enjoyed popcorn again.

BarryP (barrypz) | 3502 comments One of thee reviews I read yesterday called this a prime candidate to see twice. Just like reading the book, you don't know what to believe the first time around, nor how many details you missed.
I am starting to see more positive reviews as well. This was the top grossing film last week, exceeding all expectations.

Maria | 30 comments YAY! Glad to hear about the good reviews, Barry. Top grossing film last week? OK. It's a go. Gotta be there this weekend!
