My husband just bought himself the ultimate LZ collection CD, Mothership. We rocked out all the way to Richmond and back Christmas Eve. It was awesome! We pulled up to the tollbooth with the window rolled down and "Kashmir" bellowing from the speakers....good times, good times....
I'm glad someone like Mick Wall, a well-respect chronicler of some of the great bands, has put together a worth-while bio of the Mighty Zeppelin. Because Hammer of the Gods, the other Zep bio, is a piece of shit.
i used to listen to Black Dog on a record player that was plugged into a cheap guitar amp that made it totally loud and distorted while laying back on my bed staring at the neon beer signs in my room for hours on end
I agree with you King. They are the most overrated band. I hate when they are compared to Black Sabbath. Sabbath was brilliant originality while, as you stated, Zeppelin was copied blues that stunk.

I don't hate 'em, but I sure am SICK of 'em. Forty years of listening to their music may have something to do with it, but they provided the backdrop to many a weekend back in the dark ages when I was in high school (I graduated in 1976) when our only goal was to see how high we could get without passing out or dying.

Mick Wall examines the salacious, diabolical career of Led Zeppelin, and the phenomenal music they made.
LZ was background music for my adolescence. I think I want to read this book -- but maybe not.
