Dragon ahoy! I'm going away on mine 'ere! get away from these blasted insultees. Oh Treal! Come 'ere!
Since when did this become a roleplay? lol!
If only you would use "if only" more often..
If only you would use "if only" more often..
If only those scurvy pirates had more sense and schooling they would know that their little trick of switching the scrolls isn't going to affect at all. The legend will live on! For as long as one brave soul is left alive to tell it then it will never die!((and there is my writing lesson...always have a reason for what a character does...even if it is the littlest thing!))
If only it wasn't too late Lassie (again not the canine star). We're hundreds of miles out of port. Now raise them sails, we be riding with the wind. AAARRRGGG!!!
If only i had good vice o what i do. the best thing for a good writer to do is write about what you love. i love to write fairy tales and I'm good at it cuz that's what I love. I love to will I love to write about every thing. my sister said that i should be a write. will every one that knows me personally knows i love to write and that i most diffidently am all ready a writer but i haven't published any thing yet. so just write what you love
If only I could say what great advice! My specialty is fantasy since that's what I basically exclusively read. However I generally am able to mix other elements into it...I became especially good at mixing fantasy with other genres in my Creative Writing Class. My advice is to try and stick to it and if you get stuck on a certain story you're writing...start a different one or read until your creativity comes back. Now then...Faster my steed we can't let those scurvy pirates catch us!
Ah, Lassie, you have my crew and I at a disadvantage for ye can ride the winds on a steed most noble whereas us scurvy dogs must ride the tides on wind most foul. Shiver me timbers!!!Writing what you know is definitely a plus because you can draw upon lots of imbedded knowledge. But (there's always a but, right???) writing about what you are passionate about can be most exciting indeed. And...as I have previously mentioned, being a good reader makes one a much better writer. There are certain formulas that, once learned make the process of writing much easier. So many people look for that magic wand that releases the muse but all the writers books and nelp guides cannot take the place of sitting down and...writing!!!
You see I look at writing as more of a discipline than a craft. Everyone has a story inside them and while it's true that one needs to learn the craft, there is a certain amount of discipline involved. One of the most difficult things about writing is also the easiest to cure and that is putting words to paper. Just ataring at that blank piece of paper or blank screen can be frightening. with discipline one just begins to write, filling that blank page and becoming one with the story. Soon those blank pages fill up and before you know it a story, or even a book, is created. Good times all the way around!!!
Now batton down the hatches lads while we weather the tempest. Aye, we'll emerge victorious against the sea i promise ye!!!
Land land I spy land. Quik my beauty land in that cave I spot and we can weather this storm while watching out for those pirates. It can be daunting staring at a blank screen or piece of paper but if you are really in a creative mood the paper doesn't stay blank for long. The main thing I have difficulty with is spelling and punctuation and that is where friends come in handy. One of the keys to having good writing, I think, is having good readers that are willing to critique your writing and not afraid to tell you what parts work and what doesn't...someone that is not afraid to completely rip your work apart if necessary.
Ah, Lassie, If only we weren't caught in this blasted tempest. Alas we be lookin' for yer island.Actually that brings up a good point. Many writers have a reading group that actually get to look over what they've done and critgique it and offer suggestions long before an editor touches it. I have a small group that does the same for me. Whether the suggestions and changes are used or not is strictly up to the writer. Quite often when we nurture a story along we become "too close" to the project to see it's faults. That's where the reading group comes in. in return these people are usually given high accolades on the acknowledgements page.
Ahoy me Buckos, alas I do believe the tempest, she be breakin' up. AAAARRRRGGGG!!!!
Have a Great Day!!!

Sometimes it is very difficult to watch someone pull apart your story but you have to remember that in the long run it is worth it. Especially if you are turning it in for a class or plan on trying to get it published. Simple tips. Creative writing classes or groups can be very beneficial to broaden your writing ablilities and genres. Also they can give you an opportunity to view others writing that isn't profesional. Another tip. Local newspapers or magazines will sometimes have creative writing competitions and if you want to become discovered, entering one of those can give you the chance you need. It is much better than trying to have an actual publishing company look at your work when you are just a simple unknown person. Hope this helps!Rest easy my beauty that tempest will keep them at bay for awhile yet.
if only...yes i have more advice. "so here's something new".
how many times have you herd that or something close to it. will if you here that and it gives you an idea on a new story or it reminds you about your story you just wrote than that simple means your mind has been thinking of that story but you weren't consistent about it or you weren't paying attention until then. the best thing to do wen you have a story you are writing than you to think about it and think of good ideas to put into it and never write a story unless you KNOW what your writing about. any was i think this might give you an idea on a new story(it's about me). i write stories in my head and I'm simple saying i think of a story be for i start spit balling stuff o and i usually get my best ideas wen I'm a sleep and in the shower. so if you want to see some of my stories just email me at robertszia@gmail.com.

If only I could say how coincidental...I get some of my best ideas while in the shower as well...or outside bouncing a ball...but anyway...I tend to start in the middle of a story when I come up with an idea so I generally either go back and decide what happened before hand and then continue the story...generally I have lots of different ideas about how the story can end however...and depending on how I continue I generally end up at at least one of the conclusions.Heather ;)
if only...that is good. most people don't get the same ideas as each other but steal.
hear is a link to some of my stories!!!(:

If only I could say I think of my stories in the shower and as I fall asleep too. That's one reason why I sleep in so long when I get the chance. :D I usually start a story with no purpose or a vague idea and keep writing. If it passes the twenty page mark then chances are I'll finish it. And I think of things that happen way later and write them down in a separate word document and integrate them as I go.
If only I could say that's when I get my best ideas as well. Well it is and like you I try to continue stories if they get to a certain length but it doesn't always happen that way. I'm really bad at finishing stories or even ideas sometimes.
If only I could say so am...
:D
:D
If only..."i have written a story and its not completely done. what do i do". who has had this problem before? well if you have than here is some advice. What you do is simple just put your mind back to the topic that you were on or think or something that relates to your story and most likely you will be back on track. but there is a nuther helpful thing you can do....
imagine your story in your head. almost like its really happening. after doing that you should be back on track!!

If only I could say that's good advice, Zia! One of my biggest problems is having the patience to describe everything. I don't give the reader enough time to understand my characters and get to know them, or to understand the world I create. At the same time it's fun to describe stuff, when I think about it. So I just need to think about it more, and integrate more non-boring description. :D How's that for circular advice?
Another thing on description: I read an author saying that she tried to put action into her description so the story doesn't STOP and talk about mushrooms for ten minutes before continuing the bloody battle that your character managed to get into. Good thing to keep in mind :D

If Only...when ur writing and u have a topic on lets say school and u have no idea what to write about than just make a little chart of stuff that u do at school that is fun and that aint as fun or just plain stuped and go on from there...
start with the fun stuff than go to the not as fun stuff, and so on and so forth. than when ur done you will have a story that has to do with that topic and is usefull.... so ask ur self have i read a really long book befor? if so than ask urself if u thought of writing a story that is kinda like the story u read or just a difrent tipe... if so did begin to write a stop cuz u have know idea what to write about!? if so (that is last time ill say if so)than the easiest way to not end up like that than u just need to sceem the story agin or reread it and than u will on ur way of being a gr8 writer!!!!!

Aye, me lads, we lose more good Dragons that way. Have that be a lesson to ye. But fret ye not oh treacherous ones, the whole lotta' ya.
