Karla, I found White Oleander to be one of the best descriptive books I've ever read - vivid yet not to the point of wordiness.

I was able to pick up Kate Jacobs' "Knit The Season" today at our library today for $3! Brand new hard back! Someone in our boro buys A Lot of new books (in hardcover) and then donates them for the library sale when they've finished! Whomever she is, I love her for it, lol!

Sylvanus Now: A Novel by Donna Morrissey

Down to the Dirt by Joel Thomas Hynes

Down to the Dirt was ok, it had a a lot of dialogue and I don't like a lot of dialogue, and Flapper is a great social history, I really enjoyed it!
