Books under your tree?
My daughter and I received Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days from a family friend.
And I won a giveaway here on Goodreads on Christmas morning for Even the Dogs A Novel, so I guess that is like a Christmas present too!
And I won a giveaway here on Goodreads on Christmas morning for Even the Dogs A Novel, so I guess that is like a Christmas present too!

Actually, I won a book from Goodreads on Christmas Eve Day, so guess that's a Christmas present! It is called Why the Nativity?

Let's see... I spy a signed copy of Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran (from dear friend Chick Meg), Eva Luna by Isabel Allende, Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (thankfully because my copy from '07 is literally falling apart), a subscription to Artful Blogging Magazine and a $20 gift card to Barnes & Noble (which for the first time I've no idea what to buy with). I haven't read all of the books from last Christmas yet! (Where did the year Go?!)

- Charles Dickens's Little Dorrit (to go with the 2008 adaptation I got on DVD =D)
- Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca
- Jane Austen's Emma (the Winchester edition to match my other covers)
- Rick Riordan's The Lightning Thief
=)

I also received gift cards to Borders AND Barnes and Noble. Can't wait to go book shopping!

While I love getting books for Christmas - I love book tokens even more! - It allows you to remember what it was like to be that kid in the sweet shop!
I hope everyone had a really happy Christmas.

ooh sorry! didn't reaslise they weren't called that in the US - yes they're just gift vouchers for books - giftcards now. - They're for Waterstones, which is probably the biggest bookshop chain here in the UK.
I can't wait to go book shoping now!

I bought my daughter about 6 new books for Christmas. Got her 5 Camp Confidentials, and then the book Tithe. She is 11, and a very advanced reader, so I'm trying to transition her into some YA books. She has been resisting, but she reads these kids books in one day. Time to move up. :-)

Through a Glass Darkly
Dark Angels
The Black Moth
Katherine
The House at Riverton A Novel
And I used all the money I received to buy a Sony Pocket Reader!

I got a few books:
The Hunger Games which I've read, but I just *needed* to own.
Catching Fire haven't read it yet.
The Soloist A Lost Dream, an Unlikely Friendship, and the Redemptive Power of Music
Kitchen Confidential Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly
Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook Feasting with Your Slow Cooker
The Family Baker 150 Never-Let-You-Down Basic Recipes
The cookbooks look great and I can't wait to read the other books, too.

What Would Audrey Do?
Pride and Prejudice
The Grapes Of Wrath
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
The Plague of Doves A Novel
The Time Traveler's Wife
Firefly Lane
The Stephen King Illustrated Companion
Dracula
I'm excited to get reading! :) My family knows that I'm a complete book addict, so I always get more books than anything else!

I didn't get a book under my tree, but I did get a gift card to Borders. Whoohooo.... There are a couple of books I want to check out. Looking forward to starting The Help. Also, I would love to add friends, lol, since I am new to the site. Dianne Sweeney. Thanks.. Have a very happy new year.

I also cleared out some books that my brother and his wife were finished with - so that was a bonus - got about 10 books that way, all suspense and spy books. Got all that for the price of what was left on the B&N gift card I got for Christmas - quite a deal!

My husband and I each got $25.00 gift cards from Barnes and Noble so will be cashing those in soon! Yay for gift cards!

I Am the Messenger
The Secret of Lost Things A Novel
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was one of my favorite reads of 2009.

My cousin sent me "Under the Oriole's Nest" which includes some references to my maternal grandfather in the author's autobiography of growing up during the depression in Wisconin.
My dear husband wisely opted for some Borders and Amazon gift certificates. I haven't blown through them yet, but did pick up a copy of "The Daily Coyote" which looks really interesting - originally a blog about a woman who leaves her New York/San Francisco life for one in the wilds of Wyoming and raises an orphaned coyote pup. Excited to read something outside my current genres.

Abandon by Blake Crouch
The Gift
Beautiful Creatures
Sarah's Key
White Oleander
I'm excited to read these in the new year already started Abandon very intense thriller!

Karla, White Oleander is one of my faves of All Time! Such a vivid book! (I was terribly disappointed w/the movie version that came out in the early 2000s). I hope you enjoy it!
