Miss Ryoko (missryoko) I'm saying your comment of "ooh you got burned" was immature and I could tell a kid wrote it

Annalisa (goodreadsannalisa) Ella we already knew you were 10. It's not really important, unless it has something to do with your comment, such as, I don't really like Twilight, but I'm 10 so I'm not really into romance.

Okay. :)

very nicely said, teresa! i personally wrote a story about fairies a few years ago and mine are portrayed NOTHING like a lot of these other authors out there--take that, melissa marr! hahaha, so yay for authors being creative!
i mean, vampires have to be "relatively" the same... stephenie probably couldnt get away writing something like "vampires dont drink blood! they drink GATORADE!" or whatever. but details should be entirely up to the author!

message 55: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) LOOOOOOOOOOL!!! I burst out laughing at "vampires don't drink blood! They drink gatorade!"

hilarious! (and true!)

I want to write a story now where my vampires drink gatorade ;-)

message 61: by Girija (new)

Girija ...and get energy off of it... i wonder about the effects of it on vampires. hahaha what happens to them if it gives humans energy?

Ya, LOL!!!

message 76: by Tina (new)

Tina | 32 comments Harry Potter is wayyy better than twilight. Twilight is fun to read, but when you think of it, the plot isn't new. Also, the books have no moral at all..

message 77: by Abi (new)

Abi Lou | 184 comments wait.. Ella is 10???

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

Yea, how old did you think I was?

message 79: by Abi (new)

Abi Lou | 184 comments like, 15. same as me.. you share my sense of humour:)

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

He he he. I take that as a compliment Abi! Thx! Well, I GTG, me and my mom are going to go watch HP.

message 81: by Abi (new)

Abi Lou | 184 comments good for you! I love watching the movies! (Philosopher's stone is hilarious!! Ron is so cute)

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

I know! He has always been cute!

i think those books have plenty of morals :P
but HP's are more obvious and universal

message 84: by Girija (last edited Jan 12, 2010 07:30PM) (new)

Girija definitely! rupert grint is one of my favorite actors, and i agree with amelia. twilight has lots of morals harry potter just has TONS more and they're all better. but i must say PJO has excellent morals and a great many too! ;)

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

Harry potter is about breavery... Love... ect.

Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend.

out of curiosity, have you read Twilight?

message 88: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) No she hasn't. And I'm finding it rather annoying

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry, I was quoting from MLIA.

message 90: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) i personally would refrain from making such one-sided comments about books you havent read...it makes one look immature and unreasonable. Just a suggestion, though :)

message 91: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) That's what I've been trying to tell her

I haven't read the Twilight books, but I kind of want to...

message 93: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) you should! i liked them.
they're not as "interesting" as HP, but i think they're good in their own special little way, haha
and though they're really obese books, they're really easy to read!

message 94: by Mercedes (new)

Mercedes (mercscraps) | 23 comments I read the books, they were just ok in my book. The movies were ok too (although Breaking Dawn Part 2 I barely watched.) The thing about Twilight was that things just kept getting crazier with every book which is how it is with HP too but it's just different. Plus I view HP as being more middle grades (3-6 but enjoyable for all) and Twilight is more Teen to me. I probably will not let my daughter read them until she reaches high school and with any luck by then they will be a memory. Now HP on the other hand she is allowed to read as often as she likes as the only thing that is questionable in HP is a bit of snogging and a few words that my husband doesn't appreciate (he hates that the characters say damn and bloody hell...we have to change the words when he is around) whereas with Twilight you have some downright violent and inappropriate behavior. Ok so they don't do anything sexual until the very last book but there is enough of Edward sleeping in Bella's room to make me say NO to the books for my kids.

message 95: by Sidney (new)

Sidney Hauk | 115 comments Harry Potter>Voldemort
Voldemort>Cedric Diggory
Cedric Diggory=Edward.
Edward=twilight. Soo…
Voldemort>Edward
Harry Potter> Edward
Harry Potter>twilight

Simple!!

message 96: by Iulia (new)

Iulia (iuliagotbooks) | 17 comments well first of all Twilight is supposed to be more of a romance YA book so.... of course I prefer HP. not a big fan of romance.

message 97: by Pip (new)

Pip (subtlesraf) | 7 comments I read twilight in like 2008-09 and I loved it then read all the books etc but now that I've grown up a fair bit (at least as far as taste goes) the piss me off.
1 sure ok Edward her true love, fine then. But it makes me sick that when he is legit Bella's boyfriend he doesn't let her do ANYTHING. Not even when she whines and complains.
2 the vampire sparklesparkle. I guess the concept is ok, if you read Stephanie Meyer's description of exactly why that happens, it's ok. But she's taken away like all of their three weaknesses. Garlic has no effect, nothing can pierce their MARBLE GRANITE PURE WHITE SKIN so wooden stakes are out the window and sun makes them sparkle like dewdrops on a spring morn. So basically they're invincible to mortals, and they can't be killed unless by a werewolf or other vampire. Annoying when a lot of people wanna kill Edward. I would if he was trapping me in that pseudo controlling relationship. I'd rip him up and set his a** on fire.
