According to Wikipedia, 2010: Odyssey Two was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1983. The novel was adapted for the screen and released as a film in 1984.

I found it interesting in my 2010 reading of this book that Arthur C. Clarke depicts a major newspaper (NY TIMES) as no longer offering a print edition. This prediction, though not true for that particular paper, is proving emblematic of the present reality for newspapers.
