No fair starting a book that I don't even have yet! ;) I'll pick it up when I'm back in town and start it next year probably. I don't know how quickly I'll read it though, because my work schedule will start to pick up in January all ready. I'll try to keep up!
Ohhh well don't worry, when Ella Enchanted comes on Monday, I could be convinced to read that really fast! And I could read Chinese Cinderella too!
That's mean! But I love you anyway. I'll be home Wednesday afternoon if you want to do dinner or something.
I was just kidding! Wednesday, heh? Maybe! We're having Anna and her kids over on Tuesday night, so as long as my house isn't overly torn apart, it could work. :)
I'm fixing lasagna to take to MN with me. I could fix a small one and bring it to you (with just some noodles and sauce for the "vierd" one). It's really not any more work to add one more jar of Ragu... I'll call you when I'm on my way back up!
Heya! I'll talk to Wimmie and let you know. There's just so much food left in our fridge right now, and I'm honestly not sure how we'll eat it all before it goes bad... :( The downfall of having a holiday at my house is that I get stuck with the leftovers. Argh!
You couldn't send any home with anyone else? I'll happily help you eat leftovers if that would be better for you. I can always make you lasagna another time!

How did you like WWE? Ken Follett is one of my absolutely favorite authors. But he writes such BIG books! Both WWE and Pillars were hard to get into, but then I settled down and really got into the characters.
Sonja - sounds good! :) (STOP READING SONJA! SPOILERS POSSIBLE!)
Lori - Which did you like better? I found Pillars more enjoyable, though they were both good books. I think I just got tired of constantly reading about the witch stuff... it's always bothered me. Historically relevant, but ugh. There's really nothing quite like seeing how dumb we are. :) That and I really just wanted to jump into the book and slap Godwyn and Philemon... argh! :)
These were my first two Ken Follett books, and I will be reading more of his stuff in the future. Which are your favorites?

I think I've pretty much read all of Follett's books. I think Pillars is probably one of my favorites, and I definitely liked it better than WWE. Some of my favorite Follett books are:
Lie Down With Lions, about Soviet and American involvement in Afghanistan in the 70's; and A Place Called Freedom which is set in the 1700's and the 'slavery' of scotsmen to their laird.
I finally got to finish reading this thread! I agree that I liked Pillars better than WWE. Some of the time, I just wanted to shake the characters and make some of their decisions for them. I like that I rarely feel like good things just happen to his characters. I like that they have to work for/earn the good that comes to them, but it still turns out good in the end.
I also like Lori's suggestions on other books of Follett's to read. I think he's a great story teller.
Ohhh I guess Follett has a new book coming out this year! I saw a bookstore employee with an ARC!!! (I told him that he should let me read that copy, he just laughed...) September maybe? It's Fall of Giants.
True - but those pages were LARGE! :) It's on my Mt. TBR, and I probably have to read it as soon as it comes out.... hopefully!
