Airlines Must Free Passengers Under New Rules....

This happened to me once about 20 years ago, getting stuck on the tarmac. I've been lucky not to have that happen again, as much as I've flown since.
Still, this is an outstanding idea. Passengers have been treated like cattle for decades; it's about time the airlines are made to realize they're in a customer service industry, one in which their customers shouldn't have to feel as if they're privileged to fly on overcrowded planes with little to no perks whatsoever.
And someone get me some fucking peanuts, right now!

I've been stuck for three hours twice - once in Africa a few years ago, waiting to come home (3 extra hours on a 21 hour direct flight- whee!), and once at O'Hare waiting for a gate, and watching my own connection take off while I waited and waited.
We got delayed six hours in Amsterdam last week because four out of seven lavatories on the plane had broken down. I have to say I was happy that they took the time to fix them, and kept us in the airport comfortable and well fed, and gave us lots of vouchers for food and phone and future flights.

I must admit the title of this article amused me. Were they going to keep the passengers forever?
I tell you what, though, getting stuck on a plane sounds like a HORRIBLE experience. I wouldn't do well. I've been stuck for an hour or so and that was horrendous. What do people think?
