Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 172 comments I wonder if we'll see one of those actors take Sheen's place. I hope we'll see someone do it soon. I suppose they would need time to write the scripts. Also, I wonder if progress might be held up by litigation.

Lori (barfield) | 730 comments He may have hurt a lot of people, but if it had not been for him the crew wouldn't have been paid those 4 out of 8 weeks. I seen on one of those shit shows that he went to bat for all of the crew & actors involved. And IMO he's still very bankable. Look at Brad Pitt. When he left Jennifer the media tore him up & did it hurt him? NO! When Julia Roberts went crazy & married Lyle Lovett did that hurt her? NO! And Mel Gibson, well everyone has an opinion about him, but has it hurt his career? NO! Well Charlie will get past this & he will move on. I for one don't go around throwing rocks at glass houses. I just love him to bits & what he does is his business, not mine! I'll be looking for his next big or small thing.

Stacy (sjhensley) | 928 comments I think James Spader would make a great replacement! I haven't heard anything about him being up for it, but he can play a bad boy convincingly.

message 54: by Lori (new)

Lori (barfield) | 730 comments That's not a bad idea. Haven't seen James in anything lately.

message 55: by Holli (new)

Holli Ashton Kutcher is replacing Charlie Sheen..... just announced....

message 56: by Angie (new)

Angie FAIL

message 57: by Holli (new)

Holli That's what I thought...... Rob Lowe would have been perfect had he been available

message 58: by Stacy (new)

Stacy (sjhensley) | 928 comments Holli, are you sure we aren't being Punk'd?!

message 59: by Stacy (new)

Stacy (sjhensley) | 928 comments Holli is right--Ashton Kutcher, it is. I can't see him on that show at all.

message 60: by Mark (new)

Mark Burns (TheFailedPhilosopher) | 41 comments So the new Charlie shall be shoulder deep in nip-tucked cougars from now on?

message 61: by Holli (new)

Holli LOL!!! Your comments are crackIng me up you guys!! Ashton Kutcher said he isn't even going to try to replace Charlie Sheen on the show...... Guess he's going to take the character in a different direction?

message 62: by Stacy (new)

Stacy (sjhensley) | 928 comments I hope Ashton likes the taste of tiger blood! :-)

Mark Burns (TheFailedPhilosopher) | 41 comments Dutch wrote: "Mark wrote: "So the new Charlie shall be shoulder deep in nip-tucked cougars from now on?"

Well he does have real experience with cougars. I suppose he'll just be method acting."

That wouldn't be a first... he's acted as a giant douchebag in several films...

Perfect.

message 65: by Holli (new)

Holli I think I read that they considered James Spader but he wasn't interested.... he really would have been perfect. They almost got Hugh Grant and I think he would have been good too.

Mark Burns (TheFailedPhilosopher) | 41 comments Holli wrote: "I think I read that they considered James Spader but he wasn't interested.... he really would have been perfect. They almost got Hugh Grant and I think he would have been good too."

At least he just proved the point by making it look as if the character was beneath him.

Robyn (roxy_nj) | 2775 comments I'm not a regular watcher of Two and a half men. Don't hate the show, just don't watch very often. But now that Aston K is taking over I'll check it out. Not because I'm an AK fan but more because I want to see what they do.

Watch the older one's he's likely to ruin it for you.

Mark Burns (TheFailedPhilosopher) | 41 comments Dutch wrote: "I plan to vomit for a half an hour when they air the show."

Only a half hour? Surely your disgust can't be that small.

message 70: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (roxy_nj) | 2775 comments I agree that Kutcher seems like it is really going to change the show. He generally plays such a goofball which does seem like a fit to the show. And if Alan is already the straight man of the comedy duo then what else would Kutcher be? I really am fascinated to see what they do, especially with Charlie's character. Will they kill him off?

message 71: by Angie (new)

Angie I don't know what to think of this. Kutcher seems a little young to me to replace Charlie. I like that there were two older guys trying to raise a teen. That was funny.

message 72: by Holli (new)

Holli I don't think he's actually going to be replacing Charlie Sheen's character on the show.... it sounds like they are writing a whole new character for Ashton Kutcher.

Speaking of Charlie Sheen, I heard he's getting a new show called Anger Management (based on the Jack Nicholson/Adam Sandler movie).

message 73: by Holli (new)

Holli Charlie Sheen is set to return to television in a sitcom loosely based on the 2003 Jack Nicholson/Adam Sandler comedy "Anger Management," Lionsgate Television announced Monday.

TheWrap confirmed two weeks ago that the wheels had been set in motion on the project, which Revolution Studios honcho Joe Roth was shopping.

But now it's official: Lionsgate will produce the half-hour comedy and will distribute through its subsidiary Debmar-Mercury. Sheen will have a "significant ownership stake" in the project, the production company said.

"I chose 'Anger Management' because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept," Sheen said in a statement. "It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth."

Roth has produced five Sheen movies, including "Major League" and "Young Guns."

Speculation about the project began when Sheen offered a not-so-subtle hint to TMZ that he was prepping a show based on a Roth-produced film with the initials "A.M."

"Anger Management" will be Sheen's first full-time TV gig since CBS fired him in March from his mega-successful "Two and a Half Men" after a series of outlandish media interviews in which he bashed showrunner Chuck Lorre and bragged about past drug use.

Sheen will be the subject of a Comedy Central roast, which will air Monday, September 19, the same night that "Two and a Half Men" returns to the air.

Sheen will play a variation on Jack Nicholson's character in "Anger Management." No word yet on whether the Sandler character will be involved in the adaptation or who the writing team will be.

message 74: by Holli (new)

Holli The new season starts tonight with Ashton Kutcher. Did anyone see Charlie Sheen on the Emmys last night? What a gracious speech.... even if it was to improve his image (or he was being sincere)... I thought it was great that he did that.

"Backstage at Sunday's Emmy Awards at the Staples Center in L.A., Charlie Sheen introduced himself to Ashton Kutcher -- his replacement on Two and a Half Men.

Sheen, 46, shook hands with a visibly nervous Kutcher, 33 -- and then Tweeted about it, naturally.

"Giving the new kid a little advice!" he wrote, then direct-messaging Kutcher. "Great talking to you! We'll all be watching! Make us proud!"

Presenting an Emmy onstage, Sheen was similarly kinder and chiller than he was earlier this year, at the height of a media frenzy surrounding his firing from the CBS hit and his off-screen antics with porn stars, among other things.

"I want to take a moment to get something off my chest and say a few words to everybody here from Two and a Half Men," Sheen said as the crowd chuckled nervously. "From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together, and I know you will continue to make great television."

message 75: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (roxy_nj) | 2775 comments I never really watched T1/2M regularly but I will probably watch the next couple of episodes to see how this transition goes.

message 76: by Holli (new)

Holli I thought it was GREAT! Loved it.... I was very pleased with how they did everything and with Ashton Kutcher. Good job by everyone.

message 77: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (roxy_nj) | 2775 comments I totally missed it. Forgot to set a timer.

message 78: by Literary Ames (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 69 comments I watched. It was weird. I might try another episode but I don't think this show is for me any more.

message 79: by Brandie (new)

Brandie (brandiemichelle) Holli...I agree with you. I enjoyed it...thought it was funny. Definitely going to keep watching!

message 80: by Kelley (new)

Kelley (kheckart) | 456 comments What I want to know is was Ashton really naked? If so, that makes it even funnier, especially when he hugged John Cryer at the end. I thought the writers did a good job of handling the change. I will probably watch it again to see how it holds up. I thought the show after Two and A Half Men, 2 Broke Girls, was really funny.

message 81: by Brandie (new)

Brandie (brandiemichelle) I wish I had watched 2 Broke Girls. I've heard from several people that it was really good.

message 82: by Angie (new)

Angie I thought it was a good way to introduce Ashton into the show. Hoping it is just as good as with Charlie Sheen. Did anyone was the Charlie Sheen roast on Comedy Central that came on the same night? Now that was HILARIOUS!

message 83: by Holli (new)

Holli I haven't watched the roast yet but can't wait to see that!

message 84: by Stacy (new)

Stacy (sjhensley) | 928 comments I wasn't that impressed with Ashton's character--he seemed like an older, smarter, richer Michael from That 70s Show. I just tuned in out of curiousity.

The roast was pretty funny. Best joke: Charlie and Bruce Willis have a lot in common. They were both big in the 80s and Ashton Kutcher took over his old slot.

message 85: by Holli (new)

Holli LOL!!!!

message 86: by Mark (new)

Mark Burns (TheFailedPhilosopher) | 41 comments A harsher one was "Mike, you hurt a lot of people, Mike... your opponents spent almost as much time bleeding in a corner as charlie's ex-wives/girlfriends."

message 87: by Brandie (new)

Brandie (brandiemichelle) Ok, I watched this week's ep and Ashton's annoying me. His idiot character is a little much for me. But Alan seems funnier then he has ever been and he's cracking me up. I feel like he's the only one holding the show together right now.

***SPOILER***
I like who they brought in to be Ashton's wife. I don't know her name, but I've seen her in several movies and have always liked her. I hope she has a more permanent role.

message 88: by Holli (new)

Holli I've always liked her too Brandie... I can't think of her name right now either. She always plays the funny best friend in movies....

Ashton's character is getting a little annoying. I will agree with that.

message 89: by Stacy (new)

Stacy (sjhensley) | 928 comments Judy Greer - from 13 Going on 30 and other movies.

message 90: by Holli (new)

Holli That's it!! Thanks Stacy!

message 91: by Brandie (new)

Brandie (brandiemichelle) I felt like this weeks episode was funnier. Maybe they are getting better, but this was the first episode that I actually laughed at Ashton Kutcher. Up until now, I felt like Alan was the only funny character.

message 92: by Holli (new)

Holli Really Brandie? I'll have to try to catch it. We decided we weren't going to DVR it anymore

message 93: by Stacy (new)

Stacy (sjhensley) | 928 comments Guest star alert! Gary Busey will play a mental patient on Two and a Half Men.
