Hi!! I started reading Dean Koontz a few years ago when a friend loaned me From The Corner of His Eye, and I loved it. I've mainly read his newer stuff and currently working my way backwards. Looking forward to the July read.
Hi, people :) My name's Cliff, and I'm an avid reader. I think I own virtually all of Dean Koontzs' books ( no doubt someone will correct me!) and I annoy my wife-to-be with my refusal to get rid of a book once I've read it. My favourite Koontz books are Lightning, Dark Rivers Of The Heart, Odd Thomas and From The Corner Of His Eye. I've been reading his books ever since I picked up Lightning, The Bad Place and Midnight as a 3-volume omnibus. I look forward to many conversations with you all :)

Hi all. I am Jim from Boston and I just joined Goodreads last week. Been reading Koontz for over 20 years and yes he is my favorite. My favorite is Hideaway. Once in a while, I will read the last 50 pages because I think the ending is perfect and absolutely love it.

Welcome to Koontzland Jim!
Hideaway is a very good one - might have to re-read the ending sometime, but I'll probably just wait and re-read the whole book :-) Glad that story is important to you.
If you are interested we are reading ODD HOURS as our group read in JULY - ODD APOCALYPSE is released at the end of July.

Hello; My name is David Singer-Carter and, of all the authors I had read, Dean Koontz has been the most consistent at impressing and delighting me. My own novel (Shadows Of Perception) should be out on Amazon next week..

Hi, I've been a member of the group for a while, I guess just a lurker. Thought I'd introduce myself: Sydney from Oklahoma. I grew up in Orange County California, where Dean Koontz lives. The first Koontz book I read was Tick Tock. I loved it because as a recent transplant to Oklahoma, I was able to travel "home" to Orange County. The characters went to places I've been and drove on streets that I know. I got hooked by the setting.
Hi everyone. My name is Emily, I'm 35 and live in east Tennessee. I read my first Dean Koontz book when I was in 5th grade and I've been hooked on them ever since. My very favorite are the Odd Thomas series but I've enjoyed every Koontz piece I've ever had the pleasure of reading. My other favorite writers would have to be Patricia Cornwell, Lisa Gardner, Iris Johansen, and Jonathan Kellerman. I just recently became a member of goodreads and I'm looking forward to participating in this group.

Hi, I'm Katie from Savannah, GA. I love Dean Koontz! I cannot even count how many of his novels I have read. One day I found a copy of Odd Thomas on my dad's shelf and I fell in love. I can't wait to read the newest Odd!

Hello!I'm Kristin from Oklahoma City. I'm not picky about what I read, but if I'm searching, I very often find myself picking up a Koontz book. I've read so many now that I have a hard time keeping up with what I have & haven't read!
Hi, I'm Jewelee and I love Dean Kootnz! I've read all of his books up to a few of the newest ones and the Frankenstien series, but I'm working on them.

Welcome to the group Josh. We are reading Hideaway and Sole Survivor in September, so this is your chance to read more :-)
Hi all, I'm Missy. I've been reading Dean Koontz for several years. He's been my favorite author since high school. I'm new to Goodreads and was thrilled to find this group!
Hi all, My name is Mike and I live in Manchester, UK.I have been reading Koontz books since I was knee high to a grasshopper. You may think that was too young, but I was a short ass at 14!!!
I kind of went off reading books for a couple of years (work and study got in the way - goddammit), and after not picking up a single book I owned I donated them all to charity.
Fear not, I have got myself one of those electronic thingys, and I plan to re-purchase all (& read) Mr Koontz back catalogue.
Hmm...I think "hi" would of sufficed. Don't ya think?

Welcome Mike! I dont think that is too young at all to start enjoying Dean Koontz. I was into Michael Crichton at that age. And I think I bought my first Dean Koontz at 14 as well.

Hi all, I'm Jen and just joined Goodreads and Koontzland today. :) I have a question that's been on my mind for awhile now..A few years ago I read a Koontz book but I cannot figure out or remember what the title was. It was a very disturbing book due to a creepy character. As I recall, it was set in a home for girls and there was a male janitor who really creeped out the main female protagonist. Scenes with this man in them so disturbed me that I was unable to read the book in my home - he was that "dirty" - and only read it on lunch breaks at work. (I credit this to the genius of Koontz's writing.) Does anyone recognize this book? I'm sorry I don't remember more. (Or maybe I'm not, considering how disturbing I found the book. :D But I would like to know the title.) Thanks for any help!
Jen wrote: "As I recall, it was set in a home for girls and there was a male janitor who really creeped out the main female protagonist."I think that might be The Darkest Evening of the Year. Can anyone corroborate that?
sorry that one doesn't sound familiar- welcome to the group jen and all the new members!I also have a question about a dean book i read many years ago but can't remember the title- the only thing i remember is that the villian kissed his victims after he killed them- does anyone remember this book?
Rachel wrote: "...I also have a question about a dean book i read many years ago but can't remember the title- the only thing i remember is that the villian kissed his victims after he killed them- does anyone remember this book?"Is that Watchers? I remember the assassin in that thought he was getting life force from his victims the moment he killed them.
i really need to re-read watchers- i read that one in the 90's and although i remember loving it- the details are fuzzy
I remember the "killer" in Watchers feeling a "snap" (view spoiler) I don't recall if he kissed them or not.

Welcome to Koontzland Jen! Could the book you're thinking of be Lightning. I believe Laura Shane and her friend lived in a girls home or orphanage and there was indeed a creepy janitor. I don't own the book or I'd double check, but this sounds familiar and memorable :-)
