Listening to The Travelers
. It's taken me a while to care about what is happening, but now I am drawn in and looking forward to seeing how these twists and turns resolve.
Wow, I've been lagging behind, I'm reading
The Supremes Sing the Happy Heartache Blues and I'm listening to
Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk in the car and
Refuge on my iPad.
Betsy wrote: "Started No Is Not Enough: Resisting Trump’s Shock Politics and Winning the World We Need [bookcover:No Is Not Enough: Resisting Trump’s Shock Politics and Winning the World We Need|..."Hmmmm. A Trump book I hadn't heard of.
Started listening to
The Essex Serpent and reading
The Chickenshit Club: Why the Justice Department Fails to Prosecute Executives
Started and finished listening to
If I Understood You, Would I Have This Look on My Face?: My Adventures in the Art and Science of Relating and Communicating. Now listening to
Hourglass: Time, Memory, Marriage
Miss Kopp's Midnight Confessions. I love this series. Just what the doctor ordered after two heavy politically based nonfiction reads.
Started Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis
on audioand picked up one I started long ago and never finished (I'm not sure why since it is pretty good) Blacklands
Started
Neither Snow nor Rain: A History of the United States Postal Service and
Finding Gobi: A Little Dog with a Very Big Heart
Started Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good
. It's been a long time since I have visited with the Mitford crowd. It's like coming home.
Reading
Kindred: A Graphic Novel Adaptation. I've been aware of this book since it appeared on my son's list of options when he was in high school (more than 10 years ago). I am so enjoying this that I will probably read the non-graphic version. Good story line.
Now listening to
Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body and
Deep Undercover: My Secret Life and Tangled Allegiances as a KGB Spy in America and reading
Unbelievable: My Front-Row Seat to the Craziest Campaign in American History
I'm listening to My Absolute Darling
(very dark and disturbing) and trying to start
Fresh Complaint which I unexpectedly got from the downloadable library, but I am not having a lot of time to read.
Listening to
book:Half of a Yellow Sun|26827125] and
Black Beauty(I never read it as a child) and reading
It Takes Two: Our Story.
Started listening to
Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race
I am starting As I Lay Dying
for my book group. I've only tried reading one Faulkner (The Sound and the Fury) and couldn't get through it. I hope I have better luck this time,
Started Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader GinsburgStarted Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Dissolution

Yes, he does, Betsy. This is the second Newbern narrated book that I've listened to recently. It helps to be able to visualize the face behind the voice.
I thought we had gotten past the "(fill in the blank)-ist " title phase, but I see Gail is reading one and I recently started The Immortalists
. I also started
Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg on audio.
Started Dear Martin
on audio and I'm dabbling in
The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom which I've read before, but years ago and we're currently discussing it in my women's group.
Started The Late Show
on audio. I've enjoyed Connolly's books before and this features a new female detective. It is read by the actress Katherine Moennig, who I really like in the show Ray Donovan.
Started Seven Days of Us
on audio. I'm wavering back and forth between being annoyed and amused at the characters. We'll see how it ends up.
