There is no doubt that Powers has done her homework on this topic. You get a sense of helplessness that reflects our times in America. We live in a nation of "liberty and justice for all" unless you are not living in America, or you do not live in a situation that is in the U.S.'s best interest. Don't plan on U.S. intervention because it is the right thing for humanity. Our country can't afford that. My suggestion to other humans on this planet is to make yourself as useful to the U.S. as possible. Otherwise, you are out of luck!
