I was talking to a friend of mine and she said she read an interview with Jodi and it mentioned that her last name is pronounced like Pico, not Picolt, the way I've always pronounced it. How have you guys been saying it? Now that I know I feel strange saying Pico, I've been saying Picolt for 7 or 8 years!

I've always pronounced it "pee-coult" like an American. LOL When telling other people about her, I try to say the correct pronunciation. :-)
Haha. I have always said "pee-coult" as well. When I recommened the books to the Sarah above that is how I pronounced it. So it would be hard for me to say it differently as well. I even pronounce last names for a living and I still would have pronouced it that way it should not be. Oh well. Funny.
Just to let you all know- there is an online site-- bookclubgirl.com-- that highlights great novels. JP is mentioned and discussed on this page.
wow. i've been pronouncing my favorite author's name pi-colt for the past 6 monthes. i discovered her books bcuz i left my book at the lady's house that was tailoring my step mom's dress for her wedding to my dad. when we went back in, she gave us my sister's keeper... i got lucky!
Haha.. I still say Pee-coult! :P Trying to remember to say pee-co though :) It sounds kinda French... :)
I still pronounce it the way it looks, but someone told me they saw her being interviewed and she pronounced it Pico. But like most people I still think of it as the other way. Whenever I tell anyone about her I just say it both ways.
My husband is a Princeton grad and she also went to school there....I think took writing classes there. Her last name is definitely pronounced PEE-CO.
I have always pronounced it Pi-colt and I continue to pronounce it that way even though I know the true way to say her last name.
I always said it ''Pickle''. Whoops. News to me.
My way is the funniest. I've been pronouncing it Pee-Coolt.
Damn, I was correct to start with, pronouncing it Pee-co, though never sure precisely how it was pronounced. Then I recently heard someone call her Pi-colt and I began to call her that. so it's back to Pee-co then...! :-/
