Jackie, I haven't tried Chelsea Cain's books but I know from other online friends they are great. I believe I might have the first one in the series. I didn't realize they were set in NJ. Will have to locate the first one if I have it.

I am patiently waiting for the next book in the series to come out.
I'm almost finished with my 6th, and still working on my 5th. After I finish #6 I will go back and finish #5. I do that sometimes, pause in the middle of one to read another, and then go back to the first. If I keep this pace going, I should be right on track for 12 in January. Last night I shut the computer down and just read, and it was really nice! Probably need to make a new habit of doing that!
I just finished book number 4. I read Grave Surprise by: Charlaine Harris. I plan on reading the third book in the series.
I am getting ready to start #19, which will be Bitter Night: A Horngate Witches Book. Reading, the only good thing about not working. LOL
Im getting ready to start #3, 92 Pacific Boulevard by Debbie Macomber.I read two of her Christmas books over the Holidays, but have been anxiously waiting to read 92 Pacific Boulevard.
Currently on #9, Sharp Objects: A Novel. Darcy, I'm also currently out of work and I have nothing to do all day but read. I'm only out for 2 weeks though. (Hopefully)
Well I am hoping that changes as I promising 2nd interview next week. I would gladly slow down on my reading. LOL
I thought I was doing pretty good with starting my 5th book last night for this month but I see that there are several who have already completed their 12 or 16th book for this month and the month is just now half way over.WOW and way to go to those who have completed that many books in such a short time.
I am just proud to say that I started my 5th book.

That's the one I want to read. Don't you love how she makes the characters seem like your personal friends? I remember how soap operas made you feel that way - over 30 years ago!
Karen wrote:about to start triptych 4th on my list for my goal That book is good, and I love Karen Slaughter. Someone from here recommended them to me and I read all of them within a week. Really hard to put down, and you have very strong feelings for all the characters and how they act over the series.
Is anyone reading the Morland Dynasty series by Cynthia Harrod-Eagles? It has 29 books in the series and counting.
Ronda wrote: "I thought I was doing pretty good with starting my 5th book last night for this month but I see that there are several who have already completed their 12 or 16th book for this month and the month ..."Ronda, remember, it's not a contest! Some of us have more time to read than others do. I go back to work on Monday so things will slow way down for me (and I've only read 8 so far). Just do your best and enjoy your reading time!
Good luck darcy with the job interview!!I am on my 11th Book
Though have finished 8.
1 book I have been reading since dec a non fiction and reading here and there and looking to complete by end of this month or beginning of next
1 is an audio book that started yesterday but only listening in the car
and obviously 11th is book that i am reading now Twilight
Im on my 4th now. Its exam period though so I may struggle until next week then back on track hopefully!
I just finished the library book which is my 8th and I can get back to read my own books now and the one I started before the library book. This will be a reading weekend so hopefully I'll get a few good books in. It's great how some of you get such big counts already. Hope you are getting in some great reads.
Mine is not going very well. I just finished my second one. My New Year's Resolution of reading only one book at a time has already bitten the dust!
Linda wrote: "Mine is not going very well. I just finished my second one. My New Year's Resolution of reading only one book at a time has already bitten the dust! "It'll be okay Linda, just do whatever works best for you. You will read more some months than others. :)
Aless--yes, I get asked that a lot. I always respond "of course I read it," (with an implied DUH there) and, can even tell the highlights, 2 or 3 years LATER. And I'm one of the fastest readers on here--or maybe its just that I have more time. But I AM fast--I can read 2 to 3 books a day without any strain. And that's without staying awake 24 hours either. :o) Tomorrow I won't get a lot of time to read--I have a class called "Roses for Mary." Its a Block of the Month quilt class, with the entire top being machine embroidered roses. The finished quilt is BEAUTIFUL. I'll be attending the class 1 Sat. a month, then working on it between classes.
I only have 3 or 4 more books to go in this month so what do ou do after you are done with 12 and it's still January?
Keep going to get ahead so if you hit a busy month you are ok, or you will over pass your goal. LOL For me as longs as I am having fun reading it doesn't matter what number I hit.
Olivia wrote: "I only have 3 or 4 more books to go in this month so what do ou do after you are done with 12 and it's still January?"Olivia,
You can just keep going if you wish! You can spread them out however you like, so some months you might read 20 and some months you might read only 4 or 5.
If I stay on track I'll finish more than 12 books in January. I wanted to start with a "good" month to take some of the pressure off. Plus February is a short month by a few days.
Because basically my whole month of febuary is packed. So I probably won't hit 12. So I wanted to see if I could get ahead
You can definitely get ahead Olivia. There are no strict guidelines or rules, so whatever works best for you to achieve your goal is fine. :)
Thanks Darcy and Kelly (:I just cant wait to get back to reading normal books rather than 1000pg boring textbooks :S
Yas, even an interesting text book isn't as much fun as a for fun book. I hope you can back to your fun books fast!!

I agree Vicky~ I really like the Cedar Cove Series! Have you read The Blossom Series?
Donnajo wrote: "I like them because I live in NJ. I even get snail newsletters from her. And her books are really the only hcs I buy at the moment. Except I didn't buy the last in between book. I enjoy the Stephanie Plum series also! I think Grandma is especially funny! Im trying to finish the series, and am collecting the books as I find them ( and order them from PBS ). Another author that writes her stories with alot of "humor"..is
Miranda Bliss. She has a series of 5 cozy books.
I'm suprised I'm doing as well as I am so far. I'm right on track. However, I just started reading American Gods and honestly it has been very slow going.
Jenilyn wrote: "I'm suprised I'm doing as well as I am so far. I'm right on track. However, I just started reading American Gods and honestly it has been very slow going."Oh, dear! I was going to pick this up next week. Will be interested to see how it proceeds for you.
With the weather being so testy and I'm not able to get out much, my reading is moving right along...:)
Congratulations to everyone who is feeling on track and where you want to be!!! And for those of us who aren't quite there yet (myself included), we'll get there! I might allow myself a marathon reading session at some point this weekend - will be fun!
I haven't read Miranda Bliss yet but if I remember correctly I have the first book around here someplace. I just finished the 9th book. I knew I wouldn't finish the one I was reading so I jumped over and read a brava book. Now I'll go back and continue reading the other one. Someone that also writes like Janet is Lisa Lutz who wrote the Spellman Files and that series. I started it as a library book and returned it not finished wasn't in the library mood at the time and as since bought the book and haven't picked it up to read yet. But I was told it's a good series.
Melissa wrote: "Donnajo wrote: "I like them because I live in NJ. I even get snail newsletters from her. And her books are really the only hcs I buy at the moment. Except I didn't buy the last in between book. ..."These look really good, put them on my TBR.
I finshed my book last night Virgin River and am reading The Hunger Games, therefore I am working on books 5 & 6.If I make 144 in a year great, if not, I'm okay with it. I read for pleasure and I'm not in a race, but being a part of this group is helping me to do more reading.
