How is your 144 books for 2010 going

I'm starting to go downhill... but I've been sick. It took me over a week to read a 500 page book, and when it comes to Jim Butcher, it never, ever, takes me that long to read a Dresden novel. But I just finished Turn Coat, and that's only book #4 for this month, bringing my total to 33 for this year so far. And after a super start (16 in January), this sucks for me.

I average 500 pages a day. However, it took me 2 full days to read"Turncoat". Butcher tends to have a dense writing style where I find myself rereading sections as he packs so much material into a paragraph. Also, his books interlink so I have to stop and think to remember the history of the character. I'm not surprised that someone would take a full week to read the book even if they were feeling great.

How did you like this book...I have it on my TBR pile and wanted your opinion of it before starting in on it.

then maybe revisiting the books its a food thing?
If you are close to half way then reading a book (whether a reread or not) that you are enjoying is good and one more towards the 144 target

Enjoy
I have many a time started a book that I have read already.
Couple of times bought them or worse bought them realised that I read them . And the worse bit didn't lik them the first time!!

how much have you bought this month?

I am happy to re-read a book if it is good. Dont get me wrong if I didn't enjoy it first time round then it doesn't get a second chance, but if its good then I keep it and revisit the story at a later date. I particularly like series e.g JD Robb, Christine Feehan, LK Hamilton, etc. I will often go back to the last couple just before the next one is published so I get the continuity. If you enjoy a film you would watch it mroe than once so why not do the same with your favourite books. V

I dont watch TV, rarely go out in evenings especially in the winter and my 'kids' are grown up. Reading is my main hobby.

Then, thanks to the Read-a-thon yesterday, I finished #21 Sugar by Bernice L. McFadden, #22 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling (Re-read), and #23 The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
I am hoping to finish one more book before the end of this month.

I am hoping to get at leat one more read by the end of the month and possible an audio as well

Sounds familiar. Its exhausting putting so much effort into applying and interviewing with no result. Thank God for books!
