Does anyone ever download e-bpooks? You can read on your computer, but more importantly transfer them to mobile devices like the iPods, iPhone, iTouch or if you have the Sony eader, Kindel, etc..Only asking because I too am obssesed with RDI books, and very sad to learn (only recently too!!) that RDI is no more...but there is a website forum that you can join for FREE and download almost (if not all) every single RDI book ever poublished and many more chick lit books (and a few YA and romance books scattered in too). There is over 200+ pages and still updated daily!
Here's the link for any and all:

www.fantasticfiction.co.uk is another great site that helps you look up books and authors... Great for wanting to read books in a series in the right order!

Does it have to be a regular PC?
No not at all. I believe you can use a PC or a MAC. The site just provides links to download the books. Most of them are in WinRAR files so you may need to download a program so that you can unzip Win Rar files. After that, it's motly a matter of saving files to your computers and converting them to the compatible extension of your ebook reader. For example, my iTouch works best with pdfs. So last night I downloaded the WinRar file for Shanna Swendson's Enchanted, Inc. (page 22 on the Chick Lit IP Forum). I saved the WInRar file to my computer. Opened it and the ebook was in an internet explorer format. I opened it. Right clicked with my mouse to select all. Then Ctrl+C to copy the entire ebook and then I pasted it into a Word Document (or whatever is similar to you for Mac).
**iTouch will read the Word Document but it is better in pdf form so I converted the Word Document to pdf straight from Word under "File". MAC must have something similar?? **
I'm not too familiar with MAC, but what I dont' know I always Google. If you still are having trouble, let me know. I can try to help more or jsut send you a filet hat you find you want:)

You sounds like you know what you are talking about. :)

Ok, so here's a stupid question. Once I download a book, how do I get it on my Kindle?
I've only had it for a week or two and I haven't really played with the features all that much, so I don't know how all this works...

I have to figure mine out too... I downloaded a book from that ipmart site Cathy told us about, but haven't tried yet.

Stacy wrote: "LOL, I figured out how to get samples though, I have a million of those....but how do you delete them???" I'm not sure... I only got one sample and all it gave me was the table of contents... I was disappointed in that!
It says on amazon that You can download content from your computer via the USB cable when you're outside the wireless coverage area...so do you think you can upload teh books you download from ipmart forum via the cable?? (As long as you convert them to a readable format in kindle....is that pdf??? A good conversion program to download is calibre)
so on my itouch when i'm in the list view of my books (or mine are just samples on my kindle)...there is an edit button in the top right..if i click that it gives me the option to delete...don't know if the kindle is similar...

Check out my new blog I started: http://wisdomwhimsy.blogspot.com/ I will be strolling (laughing) down memory lane via my old journals.
Cool! I'm so glad you are posting things up...I was going to ask you earlier but didn't want to overstep any boundaries...it's your business hwat you write or wrote or whatever:)PS: Who is the HUNK that lives in California? heheheehe
it's blogspot.com. I started one last year but I am not on it much. I might have to change that now.
I just started it today, my sister told me about it. So far the site has been pretty good. This is my first blog...I am going to keep updating it I have a lot of material.
That's a really good idea Alicia. Maybe once I figure out how to get my journal file off of my old computer I might copy your idea. I'm sure some of the stuff I wrote is just hilarious now. I started it when I was 13.
Cathy wrote: "Anyone know a cheap website to buy/download ebooks or audiobooks?"If you're looking for audiobooks, you might try http://www.audible.com. You pay based on how many books you want per month, and they have a lot of newer titles. You might check with your local library, too -- my library has them available for free download from its website. I can download them into my account and then burn them onto CD or into my iTunes.
Is anyone interested in buying my PBS credits? I've decided to close my account on that site. I'm getting a lot of books from the library these days and not many from that site, so it's costing me too much to mail out books without getting anything in return. Not to mention that hauling to the post office with two kids and a bunch of books to mail isn't exactly something I want to do on a regular basis!I have 33 credits. I know a lot of you guys use that site, so I thought I'd offer here first. I was thinking $3/credit (they are $3.45 apiece if you buy them from the site) but I'd be willing to negotiate. Instead of dealing with Paypal, I'll sell them in exchange for an Amazon.com gift certificate -- that way we wouldn't have to deal with credit card numbers, etc. You could just tell me how many you want and email me the gift certificate in that amount, and I'll buddy the credits directly to your PBS account. Is anyone interested?
Stacy, did you figure out how to put books on your Kindle that you downloaded from sites other than amazon?
Nevermind, Stacy, I figured it out. I converted the file to a pdf and then dropped it into the Kindle via the USB cable.
Ashley wrote: "Nevermind, Stacy, I figured it out. I converted the file to a pdf and then dropped it into the Kindle via the USB cable."
LOL, I didn't have a chance to do that yet. Thanks for figuring it out though! :)

Ok, so you know I can't resist PBS credits. I'd love to buy all of them but don't think I can afford that much. :) I'll have to figure out what I can do for sure, but I'm thinking maybe 10?

I like to keep a healthy mix of both I love my nook but real books are always number one in my heart
Dawn wrote: "whats the website for ebooks please."I know you can sometimes get ebooks on 4shared.com (usually its just reviews though)

Good luck:)
Thanks Cathy - that was the other one I was trying to remember.
Scribd is hard to find books on and half the time it's not the complete book either. Kinda really a pain in the butt.

Just stumbled across the following website: www.iblist.com
I think it's kind of like an IMDB for books. Looks pretty interesting.
