I like it! It made me laugh and brought me back to my crazy hormonal high school days. And let's face it - nothing changes. I'm on the second book and her sex god is just as stupid as the boys I'm meeting :)

LOL! I love her phrases, I don't know which book she first uses it in, but I think my favorite is, "Oh my giddygod gumdrops!"

A couple I can think of:

Shiver by Maggie Steifvater (she's also a GR author)
The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah

I'll keep digging...this one is hard b/c it's hard to tell when a book takes place until you're actually into reading it.

I know that's my problem....I am trying really hard to use books I have on my shelves, but for some reason the only season that tend to say in the titles or back of the books is summer.

Thanks for the help.

I like the disco dance too. It sounds fun! I requested the next 2 Georgia books from the library but someone has them out--and they're over a week overdue!!

That's great that you got that one so quickly, Alicia! I hope you enjoy it.

I guess it's a hot book at my library...I was way back in line for it, and when I finally got it, it was only a one-week checkout. Unfortunately, so was one of the other books I was reading...so I had to send Shiver back before I could even start it. Oh well...I guess the good thing about the library is that I can always check it out again!

It is so great Tara. Someone from my in person book club chose it, I wasn't too thrilled, but I could not put it down, the 2nd one is just as good, the 3rd coming out this summer. Let me know what you think.

message 135: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 767 comments I just thought this was a weird coincidence... I am reading "That Summer" and "Along for the Ride" by Sarah Dessen, for the task where you read the author's first and latest books. Well, I read "That Summer" and I noticed that she used the phrase "along for the ride" twice in the book! Maybe I just noticed because I knew I'd be reading "Along for the Ride" next, but I thought that was a weird coincidence!

Also, I was wondering, is anyone having any problems with the Goodreads website? I can't update my page status on the book I'm reading, and any time a review or book description says "more," I can't click on it. It says there's an error on the page. It worked fine up until last week. I think it's my work computer though, because I didn't have any problems using my parents' computer yesterday.

Jen B (jennybee618) Task completed (already in leaderboard above):

10.6 NOW OR NEVER
I read Some Days There's Pie: A Novel by Catherine Landis, which I read about in Glamour magazine several years ago. It was one of the oldest books on my Goodreads TBR list, but it never seemed quite enticing enough. I finally picked it up, and while I didn't hate it, I didn't love it either. Southern Literature is one of my favorite genres, but so many other Southern lit books do it better than this one. Not one I'll be rereading, but I enjoyed it enough to finish it.

No bonus points for this book.
