Mutt | 98 comments I've been wandering around a few places for a while trying to figure out how the hell SMeyer managed to justify the whole "vampire baby" thing. After reading a little, it occurred to me that she f*cked up royally.

She described the logic behind the vampire spawn as being something akin to a cambion. The problem is that a Cambion is created when:

A succubus (that is to say the female of this particular brand of demon) will have sexual relations with a human male and by doing so acquire a sample of his sperm. This she will then pass on to an incubus. The incubus will, in his turn, transfer the sperm to a human female and thus impregnate her.

The only places to connect succubii and incubii to vampires have been bad occultists and role playing games makling some very big assumptions. The incubus/succubus are not vampires. They're a different kind of demon entirely. There's something else that occurred to me.

In order for Bella to get pregnant, Edward needs to get his sparkle on with a succubus. So either Edward isn't a vampire, he lied to Bella about his pimp vampy action, or SMeyer dropped the ball here.

Olivia ^^The Awesome Mushroom^^ (canttaketheawesomeness) | 756 comments wow...I think she just did that to Bella to actually make a plot for the story..She ran out of bad ideas.

I-love-green-apples! (I-Love-Green-Apples) | 35 comments Jeeeshh, succubus? Why dont you guys think about a much simpler explanation? To me, it's crystal clear what happened: Bella cheated Edward. Probably with Jacob, since if you remember, Alice wasn't able to "see" the baby during the pregnancy, just like she can't see werewolves. My theory is that Renesme is actually Jacob's daughter, the vampire part coming from the needle with poison that Edward stuck into Bella's hearth when she was giving birth. Some venon must have hit the baby, but the werewolf blood protected her somehow, stopping her from turning fully. So, you can add incest to the list of things that are wrong with these books!

Vivi | 199 comments Didn't Edward stick the needle in Bella after she gave birth?

I-love-green-apples! (I-Love-Green-Apples) | 35 comments Did he? I don't remember the whole thing that well, it's been a while since I've read the book. I'll have to check it, even if going through all that nonsense will put my IQ at risk.

But the "She's Jacob's daughter!" theory? I'm sticking to it. It makes more sense that Bella jumped the fence than vampires having babies!

Emma the Dork (cheesehead) | 34 comments no, edward stuck the needle in bella after she gave birth, i know that cuz reneesmee bit bella before edward started biting her and sticking needles in her. i don't think that theories plausible. plus, she never slept with jacob.

Keara (kearachristine) Yeah... I mostly skipped over all of that jazzy crap. It didn't interest me.

I-love-green-apples! (I-Love-Green-Apples) | 35 comments Duh, of course it's a joke. Everything about those godamned books is a joke!

message 13: by Keara (new)

Keara (kearachristine) The pregnancy part was crazy! "I looked in the mirror. I was naked and covered in feathers. 'Why am I covered in feathers?' I turned towards Edward's perfect form, laying on the bed."

Um... he's perfect? Seriously? Why don't you say that in every sentence and see if that's still the case!

Mutt | 98 comments Emma, Twilight in general is not plausible, so I'm really not sure that anything said in here is any less so. However, I think that the 'Bella sleeping with Jacob' thing is plausible by connecting a few details.

1. Bella is incapable of being attracted to anybody that isn't some sort of metahuman monster. Seriously, the only guys she seems to notice are werewolves and vampires.

2. During the moment of orgasm, males lose all control and thus, since he has superhuman strength, the burst of semen should have ruptured her insides, unless Edward has studied Tantra, which pretty much everyone doubts.

3. The story is told from Bella's perspective, which means that all of the details we know could quite easily have been misrepresented, if not outright lied about.

4. If Bella is not above using suicidal behaviour as a way of getting her own way (visions of Edward), I'm not going to assume that she's not boning Jacob on the side.

Sorry, but when you take into account her lack of mental stability, then her lying about Jacob and her relationship doesn't seem that implausible, especially since she has emotionally abused him in the past.

Mutt | 98 comments Hey Greenapples, I'd like to point out that SMeyer was the one that originally brought succubii and Cambions into the equation. I just passed on the abomination and my thoughts on it.

Keara (kearachristine) I still do. Even if it isn't appealing, I still want kids.

Emma the Dork (cheesehead) | 34 comments ok ok jeez i don't spend all my time sifting through comments and analyzing their sarcasm. its kind of hard to tell the tone of the comment through words on a screen.
