Susannah's mom had set the table, with bowls of food in the center, and plates for three around. "Oh, its so nice to have company...oh! I forgot to use the good silverware. You guys sit down, I'll be back in a second." Susannah's mom said as she picked up the silverware she had laid out, and left to go find some other silverware.

"Food smells great," Jacob said as he sat.{{G2G-- I'm like passing out on the keyboard -- night}}
Susannah nodded as she sat down too. "My mom's a pretty good cook, but she rarely gets to show anyone. You know the good sivlerware she went to get? It's still in the package. So, I think she's having fun." Susannah said.
"Well I'm glad I'm the source of so much excitment," Jacob laughed.
Susannah's mom came back into the room, shiny silverware in her hands. she put them on the table, then sat down too. "Ok, guys, dig in." she said.
"You don't have to tell me twice," Jacob said beginning to chow down.
Susannah and her mom each got food. Susannah sat back quietly as her mom asked Jacob, "So, what school do you go to?"
"I go to school on the Quilaute reservation," Jacob answered between bites of food.
Susannah's mom nodded, "And, how long have you known Susannah?" she asked.
"A couple of weeks," Jacob replied.
"And, are you from Forks?" Susannah's mom asked.
Susannah's mom nodded, and continued to eat her food."So, mom, what did you do yesterday?" Susannah asked her mom.
"I taught myself how to knit. I want to make scarves as christmas presents." she replied
Susannah nodded, smiling, knowing that by next week her mom would have something else occuping her time.
Jacob swallowed the last of his meal while Susannah's mom was talking about her kniting and leaned back in his seat.
"Susannah, can you help me clear the table?" Susannah's mom asked her when everyone had finished eating."Sure, Mom." Susannah said, and she helped her.
Jacob stood and picked up some of the dishes off the table.
Susannah and her mom put the dishes in the dishwasher, then Susannah's mom strode over to Jacob, leaving Susannah to finished loading the dishwasher, and said, "Oh, no, you dont have to help. You can just give me your dishes."
"It's no big deal," Jacob said, "it's the least I can do since you made such a great dinner."
Susannah's mom looked troubled, but nodded, and helped Susannah finish with the dishwasher.
Jacob brought his dishes into the kitchen and put them into the dishwasher along with the rest of the dishes.
Susannah's mom closed the dishwaser, and pressed START. "There." She said satisfactly.
Jacob took Susannah's hand, "So what do you want to do now?" He asked.
Susannah's mom had left to go coninue knitting, and Susannah said, "I'm not sure, actually."
"Wanna go see a movie?" Jacob asked trying to think of something to do.
"Sure." Susannah said, smiling at the thought of getting to do something normal with Jacob, not fighting-for-your-life kind of things.
"What do you want to see?" Jacob asked. "Your choice."
"I don't know what's playing." Susannah admitted.
"Well there's: Letters to Juliet, Prince of Persia, and Iron Man 2."
"Can we watch Iron Man 2?" Susannah asked.
"Iron Man it is," Jacob said, "if you want to wait a few I'll run back to my place and pick up my car."
"It's ok, we can walk." Susannah said.
"Alright," Jacob said draping his arm around Susannah's shoulder. "Let's go."{{srry didnt see u posted.}}
"Mom, I'm going out for a little while!" Susannah called to her mom.Her mom poked her head through a doorway, "Ok, honey, just dont fall asleep again." she said with a smile.
Susannah smiled back, "I'll be back." she said.
"Your mims nice," Jacob said as they walked.
"Yes. Just so lonely, ya know? Ever since Dad died, she'd never been the same. But, she always loves company." Susannah said.
Jacob shrugged then stared of into space "What am I going to do?" He muttered.
"Do about what?" Susannah asked, looking at him.
Susannah nodded, "It's a good question."
"I mean it's no t like I can stop loving either one of you," Jacob said. "THats not actually possible as far as I'm aware, and she can't stop loving me."{{I'm gonna try to get Rebecca and Zach back into the story.}}
After a while Rebecca took back over and pout as many barriers as she could around Rebecka. Then she activated her magic and concentrated on being where Zach was and found her self on Caleb roof looking down at the sidewalk as Zach came up towards the house with Caleb. She ducked down so that Zach wouldn't see her just yet
Susannah nodded. "But maybe I can. I mean, think about it. She phycilogically can't move on. But maybe I could deal." she hated saying it. It almost broke her heart just to think about it. But she also knew how true it was.Zach knocked on the door, and when Caleb's mom opened the door, and turned horrified eyes on her unconsious son, he said, "He felll down some steps and got knocked out. It's happened to my brother, so I know that he's ok, he just needs to lie down." he lied smoothly, and was relieved when Caleb's mom took Caleb inside without questionging Zach more. Zach turned, and started walking back.
Jacob shook his head. "I don't want you to have to deal," he said, "that leaves us right back where we started."Rebecca watched in silence as Zach went in and out of Calebs house then quietly began to follow him as he left. I'm sorry, she whispered in his head
"Then, I'll let you think on that answer." Susannah said, fresh out of horrible ideas.Zach blocked his mind, pushing the thought from his head. He loved Rebecca, he did, but he didn't know if he could deal with being with someone who could kill someone in seconds. Without another thought. It was Rebecka, but Zach knew that Rebecca also dealt with the problem. What if he hadn't had been there? What could have been there?
"Zach please," Rebecca said quietly from right behind Zach."I'll try to think of something," Jacob said, "but if it's alright with you I'm going to have someone with you to keep an eye out for Kahlan."
Zach stopped, and turned. "What Rebecca? Am I supposed to think it's just ok, that at any moment you could kill someone? You could kill my mom? You could kill Susannah? And at the moment you wouldnt feel remorse? At the moment you wouldn't be able to stop, and that you'd become someone I don't recognize? I love you Rebecca, really I do, but I don't know if I can deal with living with that." he said."Ok, but could they, oh, i don't know, be able to talk? Because anyone I've seen so far is in wolf form and can't talk. I'd like to know who's supposed to help me. Other than you, the only person I've seen in human form is Kahlan, and I really doubt she will help me right now." Susannah said.
"Well they'd be in wolf form so that they'd hear Kahlan before she comes after you." Jacob said. "They'd hear her think about it. But it's not like they'd be walking you to class or anything. They'd watch from a slight distance."Rebecca looked down and she wish more then ever that a tear could roll down her cheek just to make her feel he tiniest bit human. "You know why I disliked vampires," she said in a choked whisper.
"Ok, good, because a giant wolf would bring questions." Susannah said."No, I don't know." Zach said.
"I hated them because I was afraid," Rebecca said, "deathly afraid of how powerful, and blood thirsty and unpredictable a newborn was. That was why when I realized what I had done, when I heard myself say how good human blood was I let her back out, beacuse I couldnt stand to face what I had done."
"But that's the point, I don't know if I can face it either. This isn't my world. I mayy be a vampire, but I will never fit in. You know that, I'll always be a freak in both worlds. And I dont know if I can deal with that." Zach said each word breaking his heart, but each ultimately true.
"I don't belong in either world either," Rebecca said. "A witch isn't supposed to be a vampire, and she sure as h*** not supposed to exist in the 'real' world."
