"Hi Kahlan." Susannah said sleepily.

"Susannah," Kahlan acknowledged coldly.
"Kahlan? What's-oh, crap." Susannah started out confused, and finished with grim understanding.
"Can I have a minute with Jake?" Kahlan asked not even attempting to mask the fury in her voice.
"Yes." Susannah said before literally running out of the room, and out the door, she wanted to get far, far away from an angry Kahlan.
Kahlan grabbed Jacob's shoulders and shook him roughly.Jacob woke with a start, then saw Kahlan and smiled, "Hey babe," he said.
"Don't 'het babe' me," Kahlan said.
Jacob's face fell, "What'd I do?"
"Would you like to explain what happened with you and Susannah after I fell asleep?"
"Oh that? That was nothing, Susannah had a nightmare that's all. She stay'd in here because she felt safer, it was nothing."
"It sure as h*** didn't seem like nothing. So why don't you just tell me what really happened?" Kahlan said lifting her hand and looking at it as if she were planning to confess Jacob.
"Alright, alright," Jacob said," Susannah did wake up last night, scared to death from a nightmare. So i went in and was calming her down, trying to get her to relax. We talk for a few minutes, and then," he paused for a minute, "we kissed."
Kahlan's shoulders trembled she stormed out of the house and went out looking for Susannah.
Jacob ran after her and grabbed her shoulder in an attempt to stop her, but she just shrugged him off and kept on going.

Susannah was still running down the La Push beach. She knew that being out in the open wasnt good cover, but if Kahlan changed, she needed any head start she could get. Years of hiking helped her to run fairly fast, but she wasnt very sure how she'd do against an angry werewolf.
Kahlan hit the tree line and shifted, no sooner had she shifted she picked up Susannah's scent. Jacob shifted right behind her and follow after her.
Kahlan broke out of the wood onto the beech about six feet ahead of Susannah and charged right for her.
Susannah groaned, and turned around, and continued to run for her life. More than likely literally.
Jacob ran out a few feet ahead of Susannah and nodded towards his back.
Susannah got on his back, her instinct to survive not letting her stop and think about how that could make things worse.
Jacob took off at fast as he possibly could, but Kahlan kept up with him. She ran up beside them and rammed into Jacob's side several times.
Susannah was almost knocked off, but barely managed to stay on. Who was the one who said this would happen? Oh yeah, she did.
Kahlan rammed into Jacob's side one more time, hard, just hard enough to knock Susannah off his back.
Susannah fell to the ground, scraping her knee, but didn't pause for a second before she was back up, and running.
Kahlan turned, reached out with her paw, and one of her claws snagged on the collars of Susannah's shirt.
Susannah was jerked back by the claw on her shirt collar, and she was unable to tear away.
Kahlan pinned Susannah down with one paw on her chest and growled at her.
"I'm sorry Kahlan, ok? I am. How can we fix this? Do I have to stay away from him? I can. Do you want me to move away? I can. Just forgive me, Kahlan, I'm really sorry, believe me, I never meant to anger or hurt you." Susannnah said as she struggled to breath over the big paw on her chest.
Jacob felt like someone had punched him in the stomach at the idea of never seeing Susannah again. But Kahlan wasn't even listening to Susannah.Kahlan stop, Jacob said. That's an order stop it right now.
Right away Kahlan stopped growling.
Let Susannah go.
And just like that Kahlan's paw lifted from Susannah's chest
Susannah coughed a couple of times, and sat up. "So are we ok?" Susannah asked, not having heard the previous encounter.
Kahlan wanted to growl at Susannah so bad, but because of Jacob's orders she couldn't. So she just turned and left.
"I'll take that as a no." Susannah said to herself, and so she stood, and jogged away. If Kahlan wanted it that way, fine, she'd never have to see Susannah again.
Jacob ran off into the woods, and a few minutes later he was running down the beach after Susannah in human form.
Susannah jogged, and was prepared to run, just in case Kahlan came back.

Jacob ran up behind Susannah and took her hand.
Christain took a detour through the park.Susannah snatched her hand away. "Don't Jacob, ok? Just don't. You saw what happened back there. Kahlan is upset, and I dont want to get her more angry."

Christain continued to walk, completely unaware.
"'I'm so sorry Susannah," Jacob said. "I'm so so sorry she did that."{{srry I had to go out for a while.}}
"It's not your fault Jacob. But we cant have a repeat. For many reasons. 1) That was scary. 2) I know you dont like fighting with Kahlan, and I dont want you to have to. and finally 3, and probably the most important reason) I cant get hurt. Not for me, but my mom. I'm all she has. My dad died when I was 7, my mom has no siblings, and her only friend constantly forgets her name. I have to be there for her, and I cant do that if Kahlan tears me to shreds." Susannah said.
"She can't hurt you anymore," Jacob said. "I made sure she never could again."
Susannah shook her head. "Look, I have to go. My mom will be wondering where I am since I didnt tell her I wouldnt come home last night. She's probably freaking out."
Jacob grabbed Susannah's hands again. "Just one second," he said leaning down to kiss her.
Susannah pulled back away from the kiss. "I cant Jacob. Not again. I have to go." and with that, she ripped her hands from his, and turned, and ran away, into the woods, and towards her house.
Jacob sat back in the sand and put his face in his hands. "What have I done," he muttered.
Susannah got home, and went to her room. Did she really make the right choice? she kept asking herself.
Jacob went for a walk and without paying attention he walked right up Susannah's block
Susannah was sitting in her room, looking out her window. She was right-her mom had been worried, but when she explained that she had simply fallen asleep at a friends house-completely true-she had calmed down. Then she had asked Susannah if she wanted to hike. Susannah had decined, something that surprised her mother, and when asked why not, Susannah said that it was because the national hikers society had advised people not to hike because of some freak misquito (a lie) and her mother bought it. The real reason was that the smell of the forest would remind her of Jacob, who always smelled a little like the woods, a little like a clean dog, and something all his own, and she didnt want to think about Jacob at the moment.
Jacob looked up as he walked passed Susannah's and saw her in the window, he looked back down and fought back the urge to cry
Susannah looked down, and saw a familiar black haired head. Jacob. She closed her windows, and sat as far away from them as possible, on the floor on the other side of her room. She let a tear escape before telling herself that she walked away for the good of her mother, and Kahlan. At least, she hoped that those reasons would prove true.
Jacob didn't even notice as his feet led him up Susannah's yard to a tree near her window. Once Jacob was at the base of the tree he figured, Eh what the h***, and he climbed up to the top of the tree.{{srry--chores}}
Susannah still sat at the far end of her room, not wanting to go anywhere in case she found herself at Jacob's feet saying sorry.
Jacob leaned over and tapped on Susannah's window.
WTH? Susannah thought as she went to open the window. As soon as she saw who it was she stumbled several steps back in surprise thinking either a) she was now insane or b) she shouldnt have opened the window. But it was already open.
Jacob climbed in through the window and stood there some what akwardly.
Susannah was back on her spot on the other side of the room, and said, "What are you doing here?" very carefully, barely restraining herself from getting down on her knees and begging forgiveness.
"I don't really know," Jacob admitted, "I just sort of wandered over here.
Susannah nodded, her resolve already cracking.
