"You know, that sucks." Susannah sighed. "Fine. But, I don't know where that is." she said.
"Just go down to LaPush beach, he's not far from there. He'll probably find you before you do him. And while you're on the beach stay near the wooded areas and if you see an over sized wolves tell them you need Jake," Rebecca told Susannah, then looked at Zach. "You ready?" she asked.
"No." Zach said as Susannah left.Susannah started to run towards where Rebecca told her to. She needed to tell Jacon what was going on. Zach didnt give her many details, and Jacob would understand.
"Well you better be soon, because times up," Rebecca said right as the clock hit the hour.
"Crap. Fine, I'm ready." Zach said.Susannah slowed down as she saw the woods. She loved the woods, and followed the beach, staying close to the woods, and looked for Jacob.
Emebry was in the wood in wolf form when he saw Susannah walking down the beach."So... I guess my rooms as good a place as any," Rebecca said starting to feel a little nervouse.
Susannah was looking around. She thought she saw something..."No, no place is good." Zach said.
Embry slowed to a stop and looked at the girl. She looked really familiar but he couldn't remember where from. {{The reason he thinks hes seen her is because he's seen Jake thinking about her.}}Rebecca sighed and headed up to her room. "Zach, there's nothing else," she said. "I know you don't want to to but we don't have another choice."
((OK))Susannah looked around and saw a wolf. "Hey! I'm looking for Jake!" she called to the wolf, feeling stupid. What if this was just a regular wolf and she was talking to herself?
"I know, I know." Zach said.
You shouldn't make this harder for her said one part of his mind.
You shouldnt even be doing this! said another part.
Zach could just see the little devil and angel on his shoulder.
Rebecca sat down on her bed and began to mentally prepare herself.Embry nodded and ran off to get Jacob.
Susannah followed more slowly. Either she was just walking, or it was a werewolf, and she woould never be able to keep up, so why try? So she just followed the very little tracks it left behind.Zach stood by the door. He was going to hate himself after. This much he knew.
Embry stopped at the edge of the res and howled. A moment later Jacob walked out of his house and into the woods. "What's up Embry?' he asked. Embry led Jake back down to the beach. Jacob saw Susannah and walked over to her. "Hey," he said kind of awkwardly, thinking about the hike, how she had ind of blown him off."Let get this over with," Rebecca said, trying to keep from sounding as nervous as she really was.
{{srry it took a while-- took a shower}}
"Ok, so Rebecca told me to come to you. Um, a lot has happened, so I need to explain it to you." Susannah said, Then she told him what Zach had told her-which was pretty much everything.Zach walked up to her, "Are you sure?" he asked her.
Rebecca nodded. "Yeah," she said, "I'm sure."Jacob's eyes were wide with shock by the end of the story. He turned towards the woods. "Embry!" He called.
Embry came sprinting out of the trees (still in wolf form).
"Take Susannah to my place," Jake said. "I'll meet you guys there in a few." THen he turned to Susannah. "Hop on," he told her. "It's just like when you're on my back except Embry's a bit of a show off so hold on tight."
Susannah looked at the wolf uncertainly. "Um...ok." she said nervously."So, how do you want to do this?" Zach asked. His self hatred was already sinking in.
"It doesn't really matter to me," Rebecca said.Embry knelt down a little so that Susannah could get on. "Take it nice and slow," Jake said as Susannah climbed on. "You ready?" he asked her once she was on his back.
"well, where do I bite you? I've never done this. The neck-very chiche-the arm, the hand...I dont know. You pick." Zach said.Susannah nodded, looking at Jacob, "He wont drop me, right?" she asked.
"I don't think he will," Jacob said. "At least not on purpose." Then Embry took off."I don't know the arm I guess," Rebecca said.
Susannah cluchted the wolf's fur tightly, and focused on not falling."Ok..." Zach said. He sat next to her.
Rebecca pulled back her sleeve, then closed her eyes and clenched her teeth to keep from seeing.Jacob ran over to Kahlans house and knocked on the door. Kahlan opened the door but before she could even say anything Jacob blurted, "Rebecca's having herself turned into a vampire."
"What?!" Kahlan gasped. "How do you know that?"
"You'll find out come on," he grabbed her arm and ran with her to his house.
Zach leaned forward, "You're sure?" he asked, 2 inches from her arm.
Rebecca just nodded.
"Ok, give me a minute." Zach said. He sat back. He couldnt do it. Not because he had a chance of killing her-there was no chance about it-it was that she was Rebecca, and he really, really didny want her to be a vampire.
"Zach," Rebecca sighed. "Taking longer won't make it any easier."
"No, but it stalls the ievatable." Zach said, managing half a smile. "Fine, let's do this." he said, his face turning deadly serious.
Rebecca's jaw tightened and her teeth clenched so she wouldn't scream.
Rebecca's breath caught in her throat, she was in to much pain, and her hand flew to her arm.
Zach looked away. If he couldnt help, he didnt want to see.
Rebecca scratched at her arm as if she could rub the venom off her skin and make the pain stop.
Zach sat next to her with his back to her, so he could be with her, but not have to see.Christain had left before he bit her, unable to watch.
Jacob ran up to his house with Kahlan just as Embry got there.Rebecca whimpered and leaned on Zach.
As soon as the wolf stopped, Susannah climbed off.Zach put his head in his hands. I shouldnt have done it, I shouldnt have done it spinning around in his mind.
Jacob ran over to Susannah with Kahlan right behind him. "Tell Kahlan everything you told me," he said."Oh god," Rebecca whimpered her whole body shaking.
Susannah repeated what she had told Jacob."I'm so sorry." Zach whispered, not knowing if she could hear him or not.
"Don't be," Rebecca said through clenched teeth.Kahlan gasped "No! She can't do that!" She took of into the woods and ran for Rebecca's. Jacob ran after Kahlah "Embry bring Susannah" he called over his shoulder, he wasn't going to be far from her.
Zach just shook his head. Susannah just stood there, looking at the wolf.
Embry nodded towards his back.Rebecca took Zach's hand and squeezed it lightly.
Susannah sighed, and got on.Zach held her hand. He wipped a few stray peices of hair away from her forehead. "It'll be ok." he whispered. It has to be he added in his thoughts.
Embry ran off with Susannah a little slower then before.Kahlan got to Rebecca's, burst threw the door, ran up the stairs, and saw she was to late. "No!" She shouted. "Rebecca you can't do this. Zach you have to stop the transformation, suck out the venom!"
"No," Rebecca said, and that did it. Rebecca had been trying to talk really quietly to prevent herself from screaming, but he had been to loud when Kahlan came in and she screamed just for a second.
Zach covered his ears, afraid his head might split open from the noise. Her screaming was bad, but with vampire hearing? It was two thousand times as bad.
Rebecca forced herself to stop screaming. Tears streaming down her cheeks as she shook, holding her arm. THe venom was just reaching her shoulder.Jacob got there and just a minute later so was Embry.
Susannah scrambled off of the wolf's back, and ran towards Rebecca. She didnt know her well, and for half of their aquaintance, Rebecca hated her, but the situation was still really bad. She sat next to Zach, but instead of looking away from Rebecca, she faced her. Zach sat silently.
Jacob came in after Susannah and stood in the doorway.Rebecca looked at Susannah for a second she was a little upset she knew that if Susannah was around when she was done it would be dangerous. But she was more glad that Susannah had come. She curled up into a ball with her head on Zach's lap, whimpering quietly.
Zach smoothed her hair. 3 days. He didnt know if he would live that long, immortal or not. then how bad must she feel? You know the answer to that question, stupid. Zach thought to himself.Susannah sat quietly. She didnt know why she wanted to be here, because there was nothing to do, but she wanted to.
"Zach," Rebecca whispered feeling the venom near her heart. "I'm not sure why but it's happening quickly like yours."
"I dont know why either, but at least you dont have to endure this for 3 days." Zach whispered back. He was trying to find a bright side. Very hard, because there was nothing 'bright' about the situation.
Suddenly Rebecca's whole body jerked as the venom reached her heart, and she couldn't hold back a scream."No!" Kahlan yelled tear in her eyes and started to run towards her.
Jacob wrapped wrapped his arms around her waist and held her back.
Susannah winced at the sound of the scream.Zach covered his ears with his hands, his eyes closed tightly. If this was anywhere close to how she felt when he was changing, well, that only made him hate himself more.
