Alek had been moved to a bed in one of the rooms upstairs. He was whimpering and twitching from the pain, over the past two days he had almost screamed himself hoarse.
Sabrina had spent the time between sitting beside him and pacing restlessly outside of his door.
Alek groaned loudly as the venom neared his heart and the pain intensified.
Sabrina moved to stand next to him. In all the time he'd been transitioning, she hadn't spoken a word, not since she got back with Emmett. There were a thousand things she wanted to say, so much she needed to apologize for, but ultimately her guilt choked her and she stood next to him quietly, just like she had the past couple of days.
When the venom struck his heart Alek thrashed and screamed at the tipoff his lungs.
Sabrina flinched at the sound, But didn't move, and didn't say anything.
The venom coursed through Alek one last time, more painful than anything he had ever felt. Then all at once the pain stopped. His eyes slid open, black as tar and he scanned the room slowly, focusing on every small detail.
Alek looked at her, tilting his head to the side for a moment. He lunged toward her, wrapping his arms around her tightly and pulling her into him.
"Alek? Are you ok?" Sabrina asked hesitantly.
"Just thirsty," Alek said, running a hand through her hair.
Sabrina pulled back. "I'm sorry." she whispered. "So, so sorry."
"Why?" Alek asked, turning his head tilting his head curiously. "You didn't do anything."
"It's because of me that you got hurt. I hurt you myself in all but intention." Sabrina replied, guilt stricken.
"It's not your fault," Alek said. "I knew it was Adrian but I wanted to distract her so the Cullen's could get you back here."
"Why?" Sabrina asked. "This is the exact reason I was so desperate to get away."
"I didn't think you should go," Alek said.
"Because like I've told you, I'm selfish," Alek said.
Sabrina sighed. "I'm sorry." she said again.
Sabrina looked at him sadly. "How can you say that so seriously?" she said.
"Because I am serious," Alek said.
"You shouldn't be." Sabrina said. "Every second I'm here is a second you're in danger. Even as a vampire."
"Theres no reason to worry love," Alek said.
"There's every reason to worry." Sabrina insisted. "You almost died."
"Yeah, instead you screamed in agony for two days." Sabrina said.
"I did not scream the entire time," Alek said defensively. "Just most of it."
"It doesn't matter," Sabrina said, cupping his face in her hands. "You shouldn't have had to for two seconds. But because I happened to be next to you, you got hurt."
"I'd rather get hurt next to you than be away from you," Alek said, kissing her head.
Sabrina sighed and rested her forehead against his. "What are we going to do?" she asked softly.
"Go hunting?" Alek suggested. "Seriously I'm really thirsty."
Sabrina nodded. "Yeah, ok," she said.
"Did I hear someone say hunting?" Emmett said, poking his head in the door. "Dude I'm in."
"Don't complain if'd things end up being not as exciting as you're hoping." Sabrina said.
"As long as I find a bear I'm happy," Emmett said.
Alek followed after her, and Emmett after him.
Sabrina got outside and started tracking by scent.
"Race you to lunch," Alek challenged, charging ahead of her.
A smile formed on Sabrinas face, and she followed. "you're on." she said.
"Later losers," Emmett called, catching the trail of a bear."You know you'll never beat me right," Alek tautened.
"Not exactly." Sabrina replied, struggling to catch up.

((haha! That makes more sense. it was a little out of character before.))Sabrina narrowed her eyes at him. "You can't know that." she said even as she struggled to keep up.
Alek made a sharp turn, heading for a rock face, with a cave that housed a large wolf.
