"I just don't like always trying to kill you," Alek said. "But I can deal with it."

"On the other hand you become a target for Adrian again if you're human again," Alek said.
"I don't think being a vampire will take me off her blacklist." Sabrina said skeptically.
"But now you're indestructible," Alek said.
"Yeah, and a monster." Sabrina said.
Despite the seriousness of the situation, that actually made Sabrina laugh, as it was exactly what she'd told him on several occasions.
Alek smiled at her and wrapped an arm around her.
Sabrina sat rigidly, not even breathing.
"So I guess this is what you felt like next to me huh?" Alek said.
"Hey, you don't need me to protect you from Henry now," Alek said, trying to highlight as many upsides as possible.
"I never needed you to protect me from Henry. It was just nice and helpful when you did." Sabrina insisted.
"Well regardless, now if he lays a finger on you, you can tear it off all on your own," Alek said.
"You done?" Alek asked, nodding at the deer.
Alek lit a fireball and incinerated the carcass. "Come on," he said, "Let's go to Christian's house and figure out what to do."
Sabrina nodded and stood unnaturally fast.
"You run and I'll teleport," Alek said. "I'll meet you there." Then he was gone.
Sabrina started running- slow for a vampire just like she was slow for a human- but was pulled up short when a scent hit her nose far different than the deer, or even Alek. It was so strong and so mouthwatering, Sabrina immediately altered her course before she was even conscious of it. That was how she ended up in front of Calebs house, peering through the gate of his backyard, where he was doing some yard work, the exertion causing him to sweat, making his scent even more prominent.
Alek waited outside of Christians house for about ten minutes, confused because it should have only taken her five at most.
Sabrina hopped over the fence silently, and walked up behind him. "Hey," she said, her eyes scanning his body before ultimately stopping on the pulse at his neck.Caleb jumped a mile in the air and turned around. "Who - how - why -" he started, then trailed off as the noticed the blood on Sabrina's clothes that she never changed out of. "Are you alright?" he asked.
Sabrina glanced down at her clothes, "Fine. Just spilled some paint." she said, and Caleb looked at her skeptically.
"Ok...who are you?" Caleb asked.
"Sabrina Summers." Sabrina said, extending her hand.
"Summers? Like, Susannah Summers?" Caleb asked, taking her hand to shake it.
When he took her hand, Sabrina pulled him to her harshly, "Exactly." she replied, pushing him down and sitting on his chest.
Caleb squirmed and tried to get out from under her as Sabrina ran a finger down the length of his neck, his fear adding a spike of adrenaline to his blood that made her throat burn and her eyes darken.
Alek took out his phone and called her to see what happened.
Sabrina paused and put a hand over Caleb's mouth so he couldn't talk and answered. "Hello?" she asked, sounding distracted as she put her nose in the crook of his neck and took a deep breath, breathing in the scent of Caleb's blood just under the thin layer of his skin.
"Hey," Alek said. "Is everything alright? It's kind of taking you a while to get here."
"Oh, everything's perfect," Sabrina said softly, running her tongue along one of the veins in Caleb's neck and she couldn't help the moan of anticipation of the taste of his blood that escaped her. It was everything she could do not to bite him then and there, but she was noticing that the longer she drew it out, the more scared he got, and the better he smelled.
"What was that?" Alek asked. "Where are you?"
Sabrina hung up and set her teeth over one of Caleb's main arteries, not thinking about how if she bit him there, there was no way he would live, not thinking about how she was doing everything that disgusted her the most, only thinking about how she'd never wanted anything more in her life than she wanted his blood.
Alek looked at his phone in shock, then teleported, focused on her. When he got there he froze for a minute. "Sabrina, stop!" he yelled.
"I don't want to," Sabrina murmured, pulling on Caleb's hair so his head tipped back, baring his neck even more.
"Oh well," Sabrina sighed, her tongue trailing across where she intended to bite him.
Alek conjured a knife, and slit open a vein in his arm; letting the blood pour out and fall to the ground, trying to distract her.
Sabrina growled, and immediately jumped on Alek, knocking him to the ground.Caleb stood and ran into his house, tripping over his feet several times on the way.
"You still don't scare me," Alek said weakly; starting to pale from the loss of blood.
Sabrina's eyes widened. "No," she breathed, coming back to herself and running to the other side of the yard as she stopped breathing and fisted her hair in her hands, pulling at the strands to keep herself focused on the situation rather than the blood around Alek.
Alek placed his hand over his arm and healed it. But he was still dizzy; stumbling several times as he made his way over to Sabrina.
Sabrina wanted to go help him, but was afraid to get anywhere near him, instead backing away from him and not allowing him to come any closer.
Alek sat back down in the grass, holding his head, as a massive migraine came over him. "You... stopped," he muttered through the pain.
"I'm sorry," Sabrina said suddenly, looking horrified. "I'm so sorry. So, so sorry."
Alek shook his then winced from the movement. "I knew you wouldn't."
"How could you possibly know that?" Sabrina said, sinking to the ground. "I didn't even know that."
"You didn't want to when you were first turned and starving, you weren't going to now," Alek rationalized. He head was lessening, but was nowhere near better.
"How are you?" Sabrina asked, turning the conversation away from what she was or was not willing to do.
"I'll be fine," Alek said, lying back in the grass. "I just need to rest. That was a big vein."
"Why'd you do that?" Sabrina asked softly.
"Because I knew you wouldn't kill me," Alek said. "I had to prove to you that you could stop yourself because last time, Emmett stopped you before you could."
"You shouldn't risk your life to prove something!" Sabrina said. "I could have hurt you! Or I suppose I should say I could have hurt you worse, as you did a pretty good job of hurting yourself pretty badly."
