It wasn't long before all of the spark that felt like Sabrina was gone.

"I have to go," Alek said, opening his eyes.
"Go where?" Susannah asked, still looking at where Sabrina had been.
"Go fix this," Alek said, then he was gone, teleporting to Henry's room in Sabrina's house.
Once he was gone, Susannah started to cry quietly. Not knowing half the things Alek knew, all she was sure of was that she'd just seen her cousin - or half sister - show all signs of dying right before her eyes.Henry laid on his bed, his head hanging off the edge as he looked down at a photo album filled with pictures of Sabrina, some with him when they were kids, most dark or blurry, sneakily taken once they were older.
Alek grabbed his throat and pinned him against the wall. "Where's your sister you twisted little freak?" He demanded.
Henry raised a questioning eyebrow. "My sister? I don't know." he shrugged. "I haven't spoke to her since we worked to get inside Sabrina's head."
"Well then find her," Alek growled, releasing his throat.
Henry rolled his shoulders and patted down his shirt as if checking for dust or dirt. "And why would I do that? Because you asked so nicely?" he asked sarcastically. Susannah didn't cry for long before she was running through the woods quickly, calling out Jacob's name, trying to find him on his patrol.
A giant red wolf bounded out in front of Susannah."Because I want to offer her a deal," Alek said. "One that will be much better for her than the one that she made with Jacob."
Susannah threw her arms around him when she saw him. "I need your help." she said."What deal?" Henry asked curiously.
"Nothing, that concerns you," Alek said. "Just get your sister."Jacob vanished between some trees and came back in human form, still pulling up his sweats.
"I don't do favors. Tell me what deal and I'll go get Adrian." Henry said, shifting to his usual Balthazar-self."I need you to drive me to Christians." Susannah said. "I'd run, but driving is faster and I can't drive."
"What happened baby?" Jacob asked, putting his hands on her shoulders. "She undoes everything from her 'plan', and I help her with a loophole out of her deal with Jacob," Alek said.
Susannah quickly explained Alek's visit and Sabrina in the woods and by the end of it, she was crying again. "And I couldn't do anything." she said. "He could have taken her to any number of other people more adept at magic than I am, but he trusted me to help her, and in the end I did nothing."Balthazar grinned. "Even if it means putting him and that girl of his back in harm's way?" he asked.
"That's my intention," Alek said flatly. Jacob held her tight, and rubbed her back soothingly. "Alright," he said, "we'll go to Christian's."
"I knew I liked you." Balthazar said, then he vanished, appearing a couple of minutes later with Adrian in tow. Susannah took a deep breath, then stepped away from him. "Let's go," she said, turning and head to the car.
Jacob took her hand, walking slightly faster than her so he pulled her with him just a little. When Alek saw Adrian, it took every ounce of self-control he had not to use magic to make her bleed out of every pore on body.
Susannah followed him quickly."Nothing you can say will make me undo what I've done." Adrian said as soon as she saw him. "I quite like the results too much. That other firestarter girl's started to blame herself for her cousin's death, that shadowspinner boy will fall apart when he hears about his crush's demise, making him less helpful to you all, and you're missing your little play thing. It's perfect."
"Not even this: if you undo everything, including making me human, I'll kill them all for you; however you want me too."Jacob opened her door for her when they got to the car.
"All of them? Susannah, Jacob, Christian? What about that witch and her boyfriend? They all annoy me a great deal." Adrian said. "What about Shirley Summers?"Susannah nodded her thanks, then got into the car.
Jacob got in and drove like a maniac getting to Christian's. "Anyone you want," Alek said, his voice void of any emotion.
As soon as they got there, Susannah hopped out and ran to the door."Let me get this straight." Adrian said, speaking slowly as if to a child who didn't really understand what he was saying, "You're willing to kill all your allies here if I get that little redheaded dimwit back? You're willing to have me bring her back even if it means that everyone she loves is dead?"
"Well ideally not Shirley," Alek shrugged. "But the rest of them I had planned to kill along time ago. I only stopped trying to when I thought it would get me laid."Jacob followed her to the door.
"If you were only looking to get laid, then why bother trying to get this girl back? Why not kill everyone like you'd planned now that she's not here to get in the way and go find some other slut to occupy your time?" Adrian asked, an eyebrow raised skeptically at his offer.Christian answered, and sighed when he saw Susannah's frantic expression. "No one stops by just to say 'Hey, Christian!' anymore." he said, stepping aside to let her in.
"Hey Christian," Jacob said sarcastically while he followed her in."It was just about getting laid, when it was Susannah," Alek said. "Sabrina I actually find interesting. And besides, if I'm going to be a vampire again I want to have the pleasure of her intoxicating blood around."
Christian smacked him on the arm as he closed the door behind them and Susannah launched into her story."Interesting." Adrian said. "Well, while your selfish bloodlust is amusing, I don't think I can take you up on your offer. I'm even more interested in seeing how your little friends would react to hearing you bargain their lives away for lust and curiosity."
"And what makes you think they'd believe you anyway?" Alek asked.
Adrian shrugged. "Even if they don't, they'll all soon be dead. I've developed my own loophole. Just accept the idea that she's gone, because I'm not bringing her back."
"I don't think I will," Alek said, then vanished. This time he teleported to Christian and Rebecca's house and knocked on the door.
After Susannah had stopped talking and confirmed that white fire was a sign of death for either firestarter, Christian'd ended up sitting, kind of staring off into space, almost unable to believe that Sabrina was gone. That being said, it was Susannah who finally answered the door.
"I need Rebecca," Alek said, when the door was opened, not paying enough attention to see who had answered.
Susannah looked at Christian to see if he was going to go get his sister, but when he showed no signs of moving from his shell-shocked state, Susannah went to get Rebecca instead.
Rebecca was in her room reading her fathers spellbook.
"Alek wants you." Susannah said, entering the room. "I don't know why, but I'm pretty sure it's important."
"Okay," Rebecca said, getting up to go downstairs. "Who died?" She asked, not knowing someone actually had.
"Sabrina." Christian said hollowly, as if the fact didn't make sense.
"Oh, crap! I'm such a b**ch! I'm sorry guys I didn't know someone had... I'm so...""Sorry yeah we get it," Alek said, cutting Rebecca off. "Can I see Mason's spell book?"
"What for?" Christian asked, summoning up enough curiosity to ask.
"To fix this," Alek said. "He's one of the most powerful Warlocks I've ever seen and if any spell book will have a way it'll be his.""Fine here," Rebecca said. She held out her hands and the book appeared in them.
"There's nothing to fix." Christian said. "When a firestarter dies, it's all gone, the body, the soul, everything. What exactly do you intend to do?"
Alek didn't answer Christian, while he looked through the spell book, his eyes lighting up when he found what he was hoping for. "Can I borrow this?" He asked."Yeah sure," Rebecca said.
"Thanks. I'll see you all later, and with any luck you wont remember a thing." Then he was gone again.
"Who won't remember what?" Susannah asked. "Rebecca, what's in that book?"
"I'm not sure," Rebecca said. "I didn't finish reading everything in it."Alek went around like crazy, getting ingredients for the spell he'd found.
Susannah sighed and sat down on the couch. Christian returned to staring off blankly into space.
Alek set up the spell to project his consciousness back in time to adjust events to course with a more favorable outcome. He set up in his living room, said the incantation, and closed his eyes. When he opened them again he was going around the car to help Sabrina who was leaning against it, having had trouble standing up. "Why don't I help you get your stuff," he said, wrapping an arm around her and leading her to the door instead of leaving her in the car.
Sabrina winced and leaned against him heavily. "Sure." she said, walking in with him.
Alek kissed her head, happily and knocked on the door.
Adrian watched them from afar.Susannah answered the door. "Hey, what's up?" she asked.
"Hey," Alek said, "we came to pick up Sabrina's stuff."
