"Thank you." Susannah said with a smile, taking his hand in hers. She walked with him to the cafeteria. Shortly after they sat down, Sabrina sat next to them. "I know we aren't really friends or anything, but you guys are the only one's whose names I know, and I want to ask you a question." she said as soon as she sat.

Jacob rolled his eyes. "What is it?"
"Who is that?" Sabrina asked, inclining her head to a table where Alek sat alone.
"Because I had history with him last class period and he seemed smart and hot." Sabrina said, her eyes scanning Alek's profile.
"His name is Alek, he moved here from England about a month ago. Hey Alek," he said in a voice seemingly to quite for the noise level in the lunch room, but Alek's attention was called to them instantly. Jacob nodded him over and Alek moved over quickly.
As she watched him approach, Sabrina had to keep from blushing. She sat quietly.
"I don't think we've met," Alek said to Sabrina as he sat. "I'm Alek, Alek Petrov."
Sabrina smiled, happy to have been acknowledge - for once - without contempt or hostility, as had been happening all day. "I'm Sabrina Summers." she said.
"Summers?" Alek turned and looked at Susannah.
"She's a newly discovered cousin." Susannah said.
"Oh, well nice to..." Alek froze in the middle of his statement as a breeze blew through the cafeteria. His throat began to burn and his eyes seem to darken. With his finger he began to trace out letters on the table, being very careful not to actually scratch them there. Jacob looked down and saw what he was writing. C-A-N-T-A-N-T-E.
Sabrina sat quietly, patiently waiting for him to finish his sentence.Susannah was able to discern the letters Alek was writing, but was at a loss as to what they meant.
"Are you sure?" Jacob asked. Alek nodded, Sabrina was his La Tua Cantante, the one person whose blood smells the best to him.
"Is who sure about what?" Sabrina asked, completely oblivious.
"Alek just remembered something that we need to go do," Jacob said. "I'll be right back," he whispered in Susannah's ear, "vampire problem." He got up, grabbed Alek's shoulder, and pulled him out of the lunch room.
Sabrina watched them leave in confusion. Susannah continued to eat her lunch quietly, trying to think of a topic of conversation.
"You have to stay away from her," Jacob said then went and sat back were it was.
"So. . .why start school on the last three days?" Susannah finally asked Sabrina."Some attendance things at my old school will keep me from becoming a senior if I don't." Sabrina answered, then they sat in silence.
Jacob came back and sat beside Susannah again. "Hey sorry about that."
Susannah shrugged. "It's cool." she said."So. . .where'd Alek go?" Sabrina asked, trying not to seem too eager to talk to him.
"Sorry he had to go," Jacob shrugged.
Sabrina's shoulders slumped. "Alright, well I'll stop bothering you, then." she said, standing to leave, tray in hand.
"We have a problem, a big one," Jacob told Susannah.
"What is it?" Susannah asked as Sabrina went to sit at Alek's now vacant table.
"She's he's La Tua Cantante," Jacob said.
"'La Tua Cantante,' the singer. She's the one person whose blood is the most appealing to him, whose blood sings to him. Of all of the cases of this I've heard of only one was not killed, and she was turned into a vampire several years ago.
"Well. . .that is a problem." Susannah agreed. "What's there to do about it?"
"Hope beg and pray that he doesn't tear her to pieces," Jacob said.
Susannah sighed, and laid her head on her crossed arms on the table.
"Hey maybe his burning need to do right by you will make him try and stay away from her," Jacob said encouragingly. "Maybe his misguided feelings will over ride his every primal instinct." But as he finished he was almost sure that it wasn't too likely.
"Yeah. Right." Susannah said sarcastically. "Or maybe he could seek her out for revenge." though even this she said with little actual conviction. Truthfully, she had no idea what Alek would be willing to do.
"Well the fact that he restrained himself for now should count for something," Jacob shrugged as the bell rang.
"I guess." Susannah said, standing to go to her next class.
Jacob grabbed their trays and cleared the table. "I'll go talk to someone who might be able to help this evening," he said.
"The one vampire I've ever heard of to have not drained their cantante," Jacob said. "Edward Cullen."
"Sure," Jacob said, "they're pretty harmless."
"Alright, cool." Susannah said, then she took his hand, and lead him to their next class, which was also the second class they shared with Sabrina, who was already seated at the back of the room.
"That's generally where I sit," Jacob said walking up and leaning on a desk next to it.
"Seriously? You can't let me have this seat for the last three days of school?" Sabrina asked.
"You see if you weren't trying to take Susannah away from me I'd probably let it slide, but given the circumstances, it's debate able."
"Take the stupid seat." Sabrina said, standing angrily. "And I'm not trying to take anyone away from anybody. I want to go home.I could care less about what she decides to do. So get over yourself." then she moved to the very front of the room, her shoulders slumping when she sat, trying to draw as little attention to herself as possible. As if that were even possible since a new kid on the third-to-the-last day of school wasn't completely obvious.
Jacob felt bad, thinking maybe he had gone off on her to many times today.
The last few students trickled in as the bell rang, and Sabrina was forced to stand to hand the teacher - the last to arrive - her transfer slip. She immediantly went back to her seat, pretending not to hear when the teacher asked her if she'd like to introduce herself, and class started shortly after the teacher called attendance.
After class Jacib decided that it might be a good idea to take Alek with them to see the Cullen's.
Susannah stayed by Jacob's side after school, following him.
Jacob found Alek and told him he wanted him to go see the Cullen's with them and Alek agreed.
