Rebecca went up to the receptionist and cast her spell. "I'm sorry but we really need to get in to see his mother right away," she said and just like that they were being led down the hall to the room.

Zach followed the nurse quietly as she lead them to a room. "The doctor will be here shortly to explain her condition to you." She said, leaving them in the room.
"Thank you," Rebecca said putting a chair beside the bed for Zach then going to sit in the one along the wall.
Zach sat and waited, nexpression blank.
Rebecca got up and went to his side, holding his hand tightly.
The doctor entered. "She has three broken ribs, one of which punctured a lung. Luckily we found her in time. However, she will have to be on a resperator and in a medically induced coma for a couple of days until we feel she can breath on her own. She also suffered a serious head injury, resulting in some slight brain swelling, however, it already appears to be going down. She also has a broken leg. Overall prognosis is a 90% surival rate, with minimal longterm sideeffects save for some physical therapy, and perhaps a bit of speach impairment, which should be reversable." He explained quickly. Then he smiled. "But overall, i think your mom should be just fine."Zach visibly sagged with refief, and threw his arms arousnd the doctor both in thanks, and to uselessly hide the fact that he had broken down into relieved, yet still slightly worried tears. The doctor looked to rebecca for some help.

Instead, zach wrapped his arms around rebecca as the doctor left.
Rebecca held him tightly and kissed the top of his head.
It took a couple of minutes to pull himself together, and when he did, he pulled back. "Hey, do you have your cell phone?" He asked, wiping his eyes, embarassed.
Rebecca pulled it from her pocket and handed it to him.
Zach took it, and dialed several numbers, including his dad who was on a business trip, an aunt and uncle, and susannah, every conversation just about the same, telling them what had happened, though with susannah he also asked her to pick udp his work for the next day since he didnt plan on going to school.
Rebecca smiled and ran a hand threw his hair. "You know if you want I might be able to shorten her recovery time," she said.
Zach shsook his head. "I dont want the doctors to freak out. But...could we make sure she stays alive? 90% isnt 100%."
"We'll I didn't mean fix everything tonight, just give her a jump start." Rebecca said.
"Lets just see how she'll do." Zach said.
"Let me know if you change your mind," Rebecca said.
Zach nodded, and took his seat again. It wasnt long before he had fallen asleep.
Rebecca sat back in her chair, leaned her head back against the wall and fell asleep as well.

Early in the morning, hours before they usually woke up, there was a loud knock on the door.
Jacob sat up quickly, putting himself in front of Susannah protectively;just out of habit.
Susannah slept, unaware. There was another knock.
Jacob got up and went to the door.
Outside stood a woman with curly red hair with bright blue eyes., about 40 years old, with a girl behind her that nearly mirored her exactly 23 years ago. Despite the early hour, she seemed wide awake, even offering a bright smile when he answere the door. "Hello. Sorry to disturb you, but we just blew into town, and word on the street js that a Susannah Summers has been staying here?"
"Who wants to know?" Jacob asked.
"Im Shirley Summers, i am...was...am..." for a moment, her bright exteriorfaded slightly. Then she continued, " Susie Summers' sister, Susannah Summers aunt. This is my daughter Sabrina Summers."
"Wait here just a moment,"Jacob said. He went back to Susannah and lightly shooke her shoulder. "Hey babe, do you have an Aunt Shirley and a cousin Sabrina?"
Susannah sat up groggily. "Huh?" She as sleepily. "Who are you talking about? I dont have any living relatives."
"Ok so I'll just go dispose of the two people that just came to my door looking for you then," Jacob said nodding.
"Ok. If you need help, just shout." Susannah said, already half asleep again.Shirley and Sabrina waited patiently.
"Don't think I can help you out," Jacob said coming back to the door. "Looks like you just waisted your time."
"Mom!" Sabrina groaned. "You said this was the house! Im tired!" Shirley sighed. "Im sorry honey, i was almost positive this time." She turned to jacob. "do you happen to know where else i could look? Im very worried about her, going on without her mother all by herself, the poor thing. Its a shame i cant meet her under happier circumstances."
"Wait 'meet her' as in never have before?" Jacob asked.
Shiley shook her head, but before she could answer, she broke into tears. "Way to go, genius." Sabrina said. "Mom and Aunt Susie had a falling out years ago. I didnt even know about her until the forks cheif called and said she'd been murdered."
"Well Im sorry but Susannah said she didn't have any living relatives and since her mother had been murdered I didn't want to just let two strangers into my house." Then he called for Susannah over his shoulder.
Susannah rushed over. "What is it? Whats wrong?" She asked. Then she noticed Shirley in the door way, and her eyes teared up. The resemblance to her mother was striking.
Jacob wrapped his arm around her securely. "It would appear that this is your Aunt," he told her quietly
"Oh honey!" Shirley said when she noticed Susannahs eyes. She threw her arms around her, ignoring jacobs arm, collapsing into tears as well. Susannah, unprepared to deal with such an earth shattering revelqtion so early in the morning, also started crying, Shirleys overemotional persona reminding her of what she missed most about her mom.
Susannah, not a huggy person, eventuwlly shook shirley off once she got over the shock. "So who are you?" She asked. "Your aunt shirley." Shirley said, and this is my daughter sabrina."
Jacob put a hand on her shoulder in support.
"Why are you here?" Susannah asked. "Why, to bring you to live with us, of course!" Shirley said. "We're your closest relatives."
"That won't be happening," Jacob said.
"And why not?" Shirley asked. "Who are you, anyway?"
"Susannah's fiancée," Jacob said. "And last I checked spouses come first in the next of kin category. "
